Amahli
((Not trying to spam, but I threw this together today. Amahli was Resto up until I switched feral. This right here's an explanation of sort of why it happened. And yes, she's young for her experience. Hope this one's better than my last. Though the last one was sorta frilly.)) Battle, swords clashing, screaming.. The sounds echoed painfully in the ears of a Tauren just into her majority, as she lay facedown behind a small rise in the Alterac Valley, staff broken in two beside her. The bright, full moon high above allowed her half-opened eyes to see her own blood mixed in with the snow, already freezing. Familiar shouts, fallen comrades.. How did it get like this? She would die here, in the midst of chaos? Blood continued to leak slowly from several wounds, shallow enough not to be immediately fatal, but many enough to make movement difficult. She never knew why they were fighting. It was just something she was told to do. Thoughts ran through her mind - spells too late cast, lives lost. Why was she responsible for so many? Clash, bang, shout, scream.. Her eyes seemed to be closing of her own accord, the sounds of battle becoming less imposing.. quieter.. and she awaited the moment of bliss that would follow, where she would join the Earth Mother in the eternal sky. It didn't come. However, she dreamed.. -------------- ((insert dream sequence)) The sun shone happily above her, and she twirled her staff happily with both hands, walking towards Thunder Bluff. She'd just finished her internship with a Druiddess in Moonglade, and finally passed her last test: that of the Dire Bear. Although trained in the arts of healing, the mothers taught that in desperate times she, too, might be forced to take the life of another. And for that she needed training in each of the Earth Mother's forms. Outwardly, good little student Amahli nodded, conceding to the wisdom of the elders. But inwardly she was distressed. She wanted no part of war. And besides that, she doubted that she could even take a life! Sure, she hunted. But that was only in necessity, for food or clothing. Though, as much as Amahli wished to think that her morals were her only hinderance, she couldn't. Deep down, she was terrified. She wasn't dumb - she knew that the war with the Alliance was only growing worse. But how could she possibly fight? This was why she'd devoted herself to the healing path, chosing to work in Thunder Bluff as a resident Healer and care for the sick and injured that were transported there. It was the perfect job for her. She would never even need to see open warfare. But her future was shattered before her eyes. Upon stepping hoof onto the great height from the lift, a small Tauren came dashing up to her. "Miss 'Mahli, th'Chief wants ter see ya." She smiled down at him and thanked him for the message, frowning internally. She'd never actually been called before him before. Actually.. she'd never really even talked to him before, much less had him acknowledge her. Rushing to the top level, she trotted up to his tent, bowing before him upon arrival. She could see others grouped with her, of all sorts. Hunters with their enormous beasts, a shaman who nodded to her in recognition, and even a few of her own classmates. "I've called you all here," he began, voice booming over the lot of them, "because the situation has worsened." He paused to let that sink in. "We are losing numbers on the front lines too quickly, and we need more troops. I know some of you are barely out of training, but we need you. Travel to Orgrimmar, and from there you will move out with the rest of the troop stationed there. That is all." Amahli didn't even hear the dismissal, so dumbstruck was she about this news. No.. NO! her mind screamed, eyes wide. Wrapped up in her own thoughts, she jerked in surprise when someone prodded her arm roughly. "Hey, daydreamer," a voice sounded, none too politely. "Didn't y'here? We're off to the front lines." Before she could respond, another voice cut in. "Oh, it's Amahli. What's she going to do?" She clenched her jaw, turning to face forward in an effort to ignore them, as the first voice added from behind her, "Oh, her, huh? I hear it took her nearly twenty tries to even pass her final test." She whirled around, eyes angry, and opened her mouth to speak, but one of the two rudely elbowed her aside, causing her to fall over backwards, landing hard on the dirt. He sneered. "Face it, you can't even protect y'self! How're y'gonna protect anyone else?" Her eyes swelled with hot tears, though she tried to force them back in, knowing that they were probably right. --------------- ...Never be able to protect anyone... Pain, anger, hate! NO! Her eyes flew open, the faces of those the enemy slaughtered running through her mind. Friends, family, comrades in arms.. This time, no grief flooded her heart, and no tears burned her eyes. Revenge, death, RAGE! Amahli's eyes became wild, pupils narrowing. Her hooves at once began to change, first shrinking, then growing digits with fierce claws, echoed on front paws that stretched out before her. Tail lashing, teeth bared, the rest of her transformation completed itself. She stood crouched, feeling the snow beneath her, smelling the blood around her, and lifting her head to the night sky with a roar that echoed through the Valley - a roar filled with all of the pain and thoughts of revenge and killing she could muster. Tonight she would not fall again. Tonight she would hunt and prey upon each and every Alliance bastids that crossed her path. Amahli? There was no Amahli. She was death incarnate, a ravenous beast with claws extended in anticipation of ripping the very life from those she felt deserved it. With a snarl, she lept from behind her would-be grave and her half-crazed eyes fell upon the unlucky figure of a small gnome ahead in the darkness, clearly illuminated by the small fire, fiddling with some piece of equipment. Mouth curled into an evil grin, she crept closer. She tensed her entire body, bunching up her muscles.. Hot blood! RipTearShredKILL! ..And exploded forward! Rhoach
Hunters with their enormous beasts, a shaman who nodded to her in recognition, and even a few of her own classmates. ((For some reason, I kept reading that as "hunters with their enormous breasts" ))
