Maube
Well since Smed, Baracko, Howland, Katak and myself completed Heroic Slave Pens last night - thought it might be good for a thread to share our tactics and techniques =) Slave Pens - All Humanoids EXCEPT the Defenders can be Sheeped Casters (Healers, Enchantress, Soothsayer, Technicians) can be Seduced Healers/Enchantress/Soothsayers can be MCed and immediatly pwned by their companions 6 pulls SUCKHARD Fear is an effective form of CC as long as your pet doesnt decide to pick its own target to beat on. Double Defender Pulls are stinky - but can be kited as the only form of CC - they hit waaaaaaay too hard to be double tanked (think 10k crits) best mage method for kiting - wind up a frostbolt - have your warrior Piercing Howl to buy you a little time - blink - turn icelance icelance icelance run like hell and iceblock if he gets close. without Iceblock, heck even WITH iceblock, it is very likely the mage will die a very painful death. Bosses: Totem Broken Shaman Guy Kiting around in a figure eight works very well, gives you plenty of room to target the totems and gets EVERYONE away from the Corrupted Nova Totem - which when destroyed can pump out a LOT of damage. Mana drain is also very useful as he will only drop one totem at a time rather then 2 or 3. Ranged needs to take care of the Corrupted Nova's but melee can often take out the healing/stoneskin/earthbind totems faster. Frost Lobster From our experience - our hardest boss in here - Frost Protection potions really do help but are not necessary - they just let you save MUCH more mana for the tank and boy does he need it. His debuff will bleed the tank until he is topped back off to full. An offhealer REALLY can make or break this fight (AKA when Bar was DPSing it... we wiped spectacularly ) His Frostbolt Volleys are negligible but bandaides and pots will help keep healers focused on the tank, he needs that debuff off. Of course we have yet to complete this boss without losing Smedlock before the boss goes down, way to go Warlock tank! Quag Okay... we stayed up extra late to get a shot at this boss and were kinda shocked. He does a lot of melee damage and nature damage - but he doesnt have a bleed effect like Lobsterboss - so it is technically a tank and spank fight. Keep him faced away from the group. A Shaman REALLY helps here to drop a poison cleansing Totem and Nature Resist Totem. Bandaiding between bolts keeps the party alive. When he does his acid splash and isnt facing the tank - it is important the tank taunts him because the splash HURTS =p (yay for Iceblock) It would probably be even easier if we managed to keep the NPC alive for the buff - but they didnt improve his hitpoints so if you dont CC IMMEDIATELY (Soothsayers are bad because of the MC) he gets oneshotted and you get to spit on his corpse =) Quag for us dropped two blues, a purple, a primal nether and our happy little Heroic Token. Not a bad run - considering we've only been in there three times. Personally I feel the trash is a LOT harder the the bosses.
Amahli
Actually, what we did for the Defenders was doubletank 'em. As long as the healer can keep up, everything should be fine. For the second and the third boss we had two healing, and for the last boss we were all out of mana by the end. (huzzah bandaids!) Other than that, we did the same thing Thanks for the informative post!!
Huato
Greater blessing of wisdom to the rescue! 49-50 mana/5 for 15 minutes.
Maube
Oh and another note... Make sure to pull Quag up on land or he evades and then proceeds to WTFpwn =p
