Baracko's 25 man Raid

Greetings, everyone!

I promised a few weeks ago when I ended the Calandor/Baracko raid that I would let you know about further plans. For awhile, I wasn't sure if I wanted to raidlead anymore and I know Cal does not. However, you all have accomplished so much and so many asked where this group would be going from here that I could not let it die ;p. That being said, I'll try to keep it going in the expansion as long as I can. I cannot promise that RL might not break me...

So, here is the general outline for the new group:

- I'm going to try and involve as many of the previous raiders as I can. You all have given/done alot, and it deserves some respect. Things like spec and class come into play, as well, so be understanding if you chose to make a change. I want everyone to play something they enjoy, but I also have to balance out the raid.

- This group will still be focused on progression, not completing sets or RP. Open slots will involve a general tryout/application to the server hordeside, and Ill pick the candidate I feel will best suit the position.

- >25 this time: Considering the need for replacements and general raid turnover, I'm going to try running with 28-30 people this time. This will allow for easy replacement and better cohesion over the long term, I think. That being said, its also going to require a bit of understanding from you. I'll cycle people in and out at first on a daily/weekly basis. As we begin to get geared, Ill cycle people out more and more on a fight by fight basis depending on loot drops and what folks need. This will require understanding and communication. This will also provide for nights off, which we all need now and then, including me. If we can work together on this and approach it as a group effort, I think we'll be able to tear through some content and each gear up accordingly.

- DKP with >25: With more than 25 people, dkp will be a little more complicated. I'd like to trying having people on standby. If you are on standby, then you'll get dkp even if you aren't fighting in the raid. Standby will = being online and relatively ready to go should we need you. We'll discuss this more as we get closer.

- Schedule: We're moving to three nights - T, Th, and Sunday. Why? Cause this time we won't be six months behind everyone and therefore won't have tons of guides at our disposal. Also, places like BT in TBC were not learnable in two nights. Will we always raid 3 nights? No. Will we the majority of the time? YES. Start time will most likely get pushed back a little, but if I do, we WILL NOT go over unless we're very damn close to a kill.

- The Bottom Line: My feeling is that we have the talent to compete a little earlier in the raiding scene. When I say that, I don't mean that I want server firsts per say (sp). After the last expansion, we spents MONTHS and MONTHS dealing with Gruul and Mags. This caused us to be about 4-6 months behind almost everyone. That doesn't need to happen again. We have the people and the talent to move faster and more efficiently, and that's what I intend to do.

I'd like to shoot to start raiding Naxxramas NO LATER THAN JAN 6, 2008.
