Aight. Here We Go.

On Saturday, July 20th, of 2002 Sacred Legion of Tunare, with the help of members of Ridgerunners and a variety of other players form various guilds broke into Hate for the very first time in SLoT's history.  Unfortunatley, the residents of Hate felt that it was time to make SLoT... well... history.

After a wipe out at the get go, We got back on our feet and began to pull the roamers between the zone in and the throne area.  Special thanks again go out to Zzaxx and his crew, Gregar and the rest, for there knowledge of the zone and there willingness to help us out on our second plane raid.

After about 10 to 15 minutes of fighting, the adds got out of control, and the Members of Hate decided to take us out again.

Hate 2  |  Slot 0

*ring girl walk*

*bell sound*

Now anxiousness turned into boredom, and willingness to help turned into a tiring drudge to some people.  We went from 50 people at the start of Group making, to near 35 I do believe.  (Good because my ping was incredibly high with 50 in zone all fighting together the same mob) 8P.  But again, with the dedication of many of our members, and the tireless dedication of our guests (those that stayed), we got back on our feet.

{Here I believe was the time that I ordered Pizza.  Shortly there after Eldoran went LD and that began the 20 phonecalls.  Man, my girlfriends never used to call me as often as Eldy did yesterday.}

Then it happend.  Now there are many factors that can be mixed into the equation to give us a reason on what went wrong, but the simple fact of the matter is that many people were too eager,  were not paying attention,  or were just plain dumb.  People, maybe we need to set up a weekly class on simple EQ etiquitte (sp?), but its really very simple.

Twurps guide to the assist key.

1. Click on your "Social" button.  (Or press Ctrl+S for those who dont like the mouse)

2. Right click on an empty box.  This normally means that you have to go to the second page bank as the first page already has some readymade Icons in it.

2. a.  This will bring up a box in the center of the screen.  (It will have a typing line in the top center to label this key. It will also give you the letter "A" and you can click that "A" to change the color of the Label.  Nifty ehh?  It will then contain 5 lines in where you can type commands and the such.

2. b.  In the Label box, type MA, or Assist, or Asst 1 or whatever. (Change color if disired)

2. c.  on the first line type "/assist "  *note that is the name of the person who is assigned to be Main Assist or MA.

2. d.  If you wish you can add on the next line. "/ I am now Assisting on %T.

EG)  Twurp says in out of character, "I am now assisting Huddig on a pony"

3. If a second assist is assigned, Repeat step 2 and Lable the key "2nd ass" or "Asst 2"

4.  With your cursor, left click and hold your assist key, this should then create a copy of the key on your cursor.  Bring this copy over to your user defined section and drop it on a space.

4. a. If you have a second assist, repeat step 4, only put it on a diffrent user defined block.

I like to keep my First assist on UD #4, and my Second assist on UD #5, but that is just me.

End of Twurps guide to the assist key.

{The above was sarcasm.  Tho thats how I have my keys made, - the ooc text, I am sure anyone in the forum understands how to make such a key.  And if anyone was offended by such a insert, then you really dont know me that well yet.)

Anyhow, back to the seriousness,  the raid pissed off 2 people.  Trimark and Aakk.  Our 2 MA's prior to Suni.  Granted, I made some errors and assisted before it was called to, but that was only a few times, few and far between.  However, people were not assisting at all.  Mezes were being broken, tempers were rising and boiling points were being reached.

Now granted. the area we were in was small and compact for the amount of people we had, but that is no reason not to assist.

Other than that, the raid I would say was very good.  Only 3 wipeouts, and only one that was considered Major.

(On a side note, I am really ticked off at the Maestro.  Reason being he called me tone deaf, and music being my occupation in RL, I took great offense to that little remark, and just like Araton was so adamant about killing Teserrina, I am of the Maestro of Rancor.  I soon want to be stringing my guitar with his veins, and skinning my drums with his Hide.)

Many Loots dropped.  Many won by Slots.  2 of the 3 bards, some Clerics and a few else got some drops.  Dont ask me to recall the names atm, Eldy has a list and I will be getting to posting it all under the news at the home page once Bal reinstates me as an admin.

Huddig wants revenge on those Rock/clay guardian things, I want revenge on the Maestro, also want my floor spawn book. /cry  So I would say Eldy, our next main raid should either be Hate or Fear, however I would shoot for Hate again.  I think what would work best atm, is to pick one or the other and just work the #### out of it.  Get it so that the Guild knows eachother cold.  I dont brag about anything, but Huddig, Seria, Saite and myself know eachother in and out and know what the other is gonna do without saying it.  Thats the stuff that the Guild needs to do as a whole.

So, I say shoot for Hate again in August.  Screw PoA atm,  I'm interested in PoG, but I know all you Tunare worshiping Druids and rangers would fight me tooth and limb... and Tunare is docking me pay for the past 5 months, so I wanna go kill some of her pets and frolic ravengingly through her gardens.  (Plus I would Kill for my PoG BP).

Things I learned on this raid.

1. 35% of People who play this game are idiots.

2. Huddig shaves down south.

3. Malaisment is a great spell if casting and not being cast on.

4. 35% of People who play this game are clueless when it comes to assist. (kinda coinsides with 1.)

5. How to tap into other peoples phone lines and call 900 numbers. (Thanks Eldy)

6. No matter how close you are, your always far away from it.

Quote of the Raid.

"Your so small Eldy" -Moontrie

Oooo a pony...

1.  Yes good lord we gotta learn to use assist.  It was getting bad there.  I understand Trimark and Aark gettin mad but when Niknik (aark's chanter) decided to stop mezzing in protest and I had to tank.... Maybe I shouldnt have yelled at Niknik but a non-mezzing chanter is a BAAAAAAAD chanter.  Anyway....  I don't know who was breaking mezzes but statistically it was one of us.  I mean we did have guests outnumbered 5 to 1.

2.  I'm happy with us.  We came, we saw, we learned.  Peeps get frustrated when ya go and die but its part of the process.  I know that if I hang with AV I can go ahead and grab a book so I have something to read while waiting for my Rez.  The reason being I don't have a clue what i'm doin.  I agree with Twurp (lord help me)  We need to keep hitting PoF and PoH till we can do it asleep.  I know some peeps need PoA so we'll have to work it in there somewhere.

3.  They are called Spite Golems and they must DIE!  They drop my armor.  We had only 2 armor drops from them one regular shammy (Grats moontrei)  and one iksar shammy.  However Spite should read train.  Our last 2 wipeouts were led by one of those golems.

4.  Yes I'd love to kill some mobs in PoG.  They drop shammy armor also (Kael equivalent).  I'm down with Tunare also but if she didn't wanna die then she shouldnt have a Plane.

Still lookin for my Pony.

Kinda wish i was there, kinda glad i wasnt.  I have complained about the guild grouping before.  We must group in order to learn each others and how to handle situations.  I use to be pretty good with Huddig, Eldoran, and Votive. But then the grouping stopped.  People got to be in little cliques and no long seem to want to group with anyone outside it.  This is why i debated on leaving.  I dont want to mention names because it will flare another guild wide argument we dont need.

When i first joined this guild you were all a family that assisted eachother on raids no mater what lvl was attending.  Now it seems that we only care about those 55 up or our "buddies".  We will never have high lvl clerics chanters or warriors if they dont get the help needed to get there.  We need to start getting mini raids together for the practice and invite all to join.  For some reason i feel like the biggest whinner in the guild cause i am never happy with what is going on guild wide.  I am tired of seeing the 55+ of the guild getting stronger and the rest being left to rot on blood stained floor of eq.

You are absolutley right Qque. On all points. Even the whiner. J/K.  But in all seriousness, your right.  Personally, in RL, I find people to be annoying. I am the definition of Introvert.  I dont get along with people whom I do not know well at all.  I am not a conversation starter, nor do I tend to add to any.  And thats typically how it is here now.  When I first joined I said no more than two words... Then I got to know people Like Eldoran, Andoria (is it still ok to say that name? I'm not gonna be fined 500pp or anything am I?) yourself QQue, Lilor, Wenin, Treanus (HAH, Tre and I coulda killed each other when we first met. Now we are really tight)  Then Huddig came around and Seria/Khavi/Valaria.  Defeu, Leanessa (Whom I new from my 2nd Month of EQ) Tali (whom I knew from my 3rd or 4th month), ect... You get the pic.

But now with these new people, well I shouldnt say new, but the younger ones of the guild, I find it difficult for myself being who I am, to open conversation with them. Maybe thats why I enjoyed staying in my little clique with Huddig, Saite and Seria.  Maybe thats why I came back to this Guild, realizing that these are the friends I have and that if I am not with them, why do I bother playing this game.  Sure, I have aquaintences in other guilds, need I say better guilds, (better in the sense that they are doing more in the "high end" area of EQ), but its not worth it to me to go slay a Dragon when my real friends aren't around.

Take this as you will, wether I am blabbing on, or spilling my guts about my introverted self.  Knowing that the only people to read this are my friends, is why I posted this.  Ask Talianu how long it took her to get me to speak.  And here I am planning on moving over to be with her.

So Qque, you are right.  We all need to look at the 35 warrior and that 36 Cleric and include them on more.  Tonight was a ToFS raid that most everyone was able to attend.  It got the lower and higher members of the Guild there together, and I would have stayed longer if it wasnt for the fact that I HATE THAT F"N ZONE! and a few other factors.  But this is what we need to start doing.  So Qque, your whining has brought attention to this subject, and I will try to be a little less introverted.

It takes alot for me to trust someone, I have trusted to many before.  and in turn it takes alot for me to open up to anyone, but once your there, as you all know who read this, I have bent backwards to help anyone.

I wish you had been at Hate Q it was awesome.  The more we do these things the better we will get and the more we can do em.  Yes guild groups need to happen.  Its all a matter of getting it going.  Here's an idea why don't we pick a zone then hang there.  We can post it in the forums then we know where to meet.  EX:  I love me some Sebilis but I hate that zone so much.  I run all the way there (or port) then sit for 30 min shouting LFG then I feel like a loser and go play an alt.  Maybe Aug should be Sebilis month or Scarlet Desert or Fungus Grove or anywhere.  So when we log on we go to Zone X and get in a group.  Either that or we team up Qque, the only thing better than one shammy is 2.

My turn.

I have been saying for about 4 months now that we need to do ToFS all the time.  We need to do it until the Mobs know us by name.  Until Tserrina just hands us her stuff everytime one of zones into the first floor.  It has to be the best, worst, easiest, hardest, etc. mini-raid zone in the game.  Nothing about the zone is not placed exactly where it needs to be.  The difficulty of mobs, the placement of key drops, the 1 per level exits, the spawn times of the named, the adds, the drops, etc., etc..  If we want to be cold on Hate and Fear and Air (and all 16 other planes as we'll see in October), we have to be cold on the 6th and 7th floors of ToFS.

I logged in yesterday, at about 11:30 pm, to see several people in ToFS for the first time since, what seems like January.  I assumed that you did Hate and CoM as planned, and were now doing another group-related zone because you wanted to (I know of no Epic-related drops in the zone).  This really makes me feel as though SLoT is beginning to progress toward a golden age, because this zone enables our youngest members (who should now be in their mid-twenties) and our eldest to intermingle toward a common cause.  I don't know how many stayed to reach the top floors or what dropped or who died or dinged, but I'm sure each got a little bit of group knowledge out of the event.

Maybe you even met, played with, assisted, or were assisted by someone in SLoT you hadn't ever played with before.  How did that feel?

Play nice.  And with each other.

Baldaek

p.s. playing with yourself is a special task that only monks and Necros do well.  And Eldy.

I agree with you all, but i feel the real issue lies in the fact that we had to relay on non-guildies (with the exception of ridgerunners) i will not allow that to ever happen agian. When we have non guildies they have no requirment to listen or follow rules and that is a BIG problem..this time around we will rely on ourselves rather than a flock of folks that will not listen. on September 1st we will lead a group of slots accompanied by a few ridgerunners and we will tear that zone apart.

I think you will all agree with me when i say we did much better when it was just us there, everyone listened and followed instruction to a tee resulting in only 1 whipeout that i feel could have never been avoided with the number of mobs on the pull!!

If we are to be sucessfull we need to get at least 5 more clerics 3 Chanters and 5 warriors recruited into SLoT to avoid having to rely on anyone!

I also think that a zone for a month would be a great idea but i would strongly discourage the moon. It has way to much lag and some guildies do not have the expansion, Seb is vastly overpopulated although the trains in the zone can be fierce and that is something we need work on. Mabye Kael would be a good zone or Sirens.

I heard all about the raid.  One of the non guildies you are refering to was a personal RL friend.  First thing i did when i got home was call him to see how raid was going.  He is ver knowlegable in eq, in fact he is the one i go to about any quests, equip, or zones.  He said "lack of ability to wait for assist call and assist the mob being called" was the problem he seen "and just idiots that wouldnt stay off walls."  I hold his word to be true and fair.

         Soulution:

The for mentioned mini raids and grouping to learn

             how it all works.

There were also alot of NooB's on the raid too.  Peeps were all excited and wanting to help but it just didn't help.  I went to a PoH raid with OOS once and had already been yelled at previously to stay off the walls.  Next time peeps will know not to touch the walls.  Yes Eld I agree 100%.  After the peeps bailed on us after the wipeout it went much better.  We were lean and mean then.  The wipeout we had was unavoidable after the 8 or so mob train showed up.  If our chanters could have stayed alive long enough I think we could have even taken it.  What we need is an uber tank chanter.  Defeu and Rebma drop too fast. :p                                               No moon huh?  Anti-moon peeps.  Kael is good I think.  Maybe Sirens Grotto (I'm scared of that place)  Zoned into WW once but I dunno what else is there besides dragons. (I'm scared of those too)

I still think that the moon is great.

Grey= Great

Scarlet= Great

Mons Letalis= Great (for below 50)

Maidens Eye= Excellent

...

But I under stand the whole Lag issue.

(Try turning off all of the models and horses and such)

As far as Kael, its hit or miss... can be a populated place as Velious armor is coveted.

Velks... GOOD LUCK on prime time

Sirens Grotto could be good training. Seria and I have duoed there with V a few times at the WW zone.  I think what would be excellent training for us is trying our hand at the sea horses... I hear they are the bad arse.

WW- Well, Nothing is more fun then killing a dragon... or so I hear.  Well, a few things to remember about this, they are tough.  Even the simplest of them might tie us down, fondle our man/woman hood, slop us full of chocolate syrup, shove prods in our orephouses and then leave us to wake up to 2 dollars and a note that says, BTW I have herpes.  But on the flip side, it would be the most major Morale builder I can think of for this guild.

There are other places like Dragon Necrop and Sleepers tomb... Well Sleepers is WAY WAY WAY far ahead of us.  But Dragon Necropolis might not be... /shrug cant tell untill we try it out.

Over to Kunark...

KC- Like #### in prime time

Seb- Like #### in anytime really

Chardok- we should try this more and more, if not only for Solteks sake

CoM- Great spot for the 40's crowd

Howling Stones- I LOVE THIS ZONE.  More keys for people.  I dont know why I love it so, but I do.

Veeshans Peak-  This might be something to look into.  there are 7 (?) parts to this key, wich includes Trak tooth.  Maybe we should make some camp/await groups for this and start getting the 50+ members ready for this zone.

Old world... whats that?

Sol B...

Lguk ... /sigh

um... er...

Hole! forgot about that one... heh

Kedge keep

for younger folk,

World wide,

CC

Dalnir <-- Excellent

Droga/Nurga

that place in FoB that I cant think of the name right now, but Xalgoz's house

Sol A

UGuk

Kith at night (NO DE HOUSE)

yadda yadda yadda

You get the pic... now to ToFS

I /sigh, agree with Lola. I dont sigh because I agree with her, but because I despise that zone.  Too much before put me in a sour mood, but she is correct, the lower levels are good work out for younger chars, and the higher levels good work out for Higher chars.  I dont need to quote everything she said, but I agree with her in all aspects of that argument.

/sigh... ToFS... /sigh

Wow V nice.  I agree with you on Howling Stones.  There is just something about that zone.  I cant get enough.  We need to get more peeps keys there.  I'll be happy to grab Jade Prods for peeps when I can we'll just need the Xalgoz fang.  I think I'm gonna start workin on the VP key just because.

The other night was like the 3rd time i've been to ToFS.  I've never completed it and we never got the 7th floor key.  They were being stingy.  I gotta go back now.  I cant stand not completing something like that. Tserrina needs to die.

I think the Reavers in CoM would still be good practice but the xp there isn't so great at 56.

I'd be interested in trying Sirens Grotto.  I went there once with Zugg and the seahorses scared me.

I love me some moon.  Maidens eye has some sweet drops and is good xp.  Grey has the EB necklace quest.  I think everybody needs an EB item.  I like Fungus Grove but I think it's a death trap without a lvl 60 pullin singles and then still pretty bad.

An observation.  Does it seem to yall that peeps have disappeared?  Did Warcraft 3 steal some people from us?  I just thought we had alot more peeps on 2 weeks ago or so.  Maybe i'm crazy.

Of course your crazy hud. No one is denying that.  I honestly dont know about the whole lack of people thing.  I wasnt back during the whole blow out so I dont know who left exactly, aside from Ludaan, Riddil, and Tareosilas.

Im sorry the little seahorsies scared ya Hud, I think they are really cute. Of course, I didnt get close enough to them so they might be scary.

As for place to raid, I vote for Kedge Keep. There is a drop there that I need for my epic and the zone looks like alot of fun. We will need to get everyone to the grey to get the EB neck piece so we arent hauling in stacks and stacks of fishscales. There is some pretty good drops in this zone as well, a few for clerics and casters.

/lurk mode off...

still around if you need us, but i must honestly say that there are feelings that are hurt.  That incident could have very well been patched up and you'd still have a chanter, cleric and druid(epic'd too) along with myself, but i don't think i'm that special.

I heard a lot about the Hate raid and i must say, good job for the first time, never been up there.  I'm almost to 55 now myself, Riddil is 57, Tare is 54.  Practically PLed Naomi up to 51 now and she's doing a bang up job.  I've been chillin w/ Yibianeth so i'm spyin on you guys still     I'd love to hang out with ya'll if i'm still wanted, i know it wasn't the best of terms that i left on, but I thought it needed to be done.

Tareo formed a guild, Shadows of Past, so we're all hangin in there for him right now, as he really wanted to do this.  I've been recruited by Ascension Alliance(some ex-DV guildmates in there) but i'm not sure where i belong anymore.  SLoT always felt so right, but 3 weeks ago it couldn't have been more wrong. /cry

anyways, i'm still around if you need a flimsy tank on some night here and there, i play everyday.  nearly 55 now.  Still unsure as to what to do with Bulc but i have an offer from a friend to semi PL him up higher than he is.  If he gets to 50 anytime soon and you still need warriors, i'll tank for you, but i'm sure you all will do fine.  probably just me reminiscing.

May fond memories last a lifetime,

Ludaan d'Arias
