Corellon
OooOoh, Dabu!! Time for a rewrite!! I started this several years ago, lost the file since then. Been trying to remember all of what I put into it. Fixing a few areas of bland and backing off on a few over done areas.
Kailand
Well, here is my story, I hope I will see a few others. While sitting around the camp's smoldering fire, Kailand adds some wood, and a liberal amount of scrunchies found near the sindorie tents, to stoke it. After staring into the flames, He looks to his venomhide ravasaur mount, which is slightly redder than a normal ravasaur, and notices a unique purple feather with white and red glittering stripes cut in half as a part of the ravasaurs bling, and the starts telling his story. See that feather, that reminds me of the first pet I tamed, way back when I was a little troll just learning to hunt in durotar. His name was Enraptor and he was a glorious Specimen of a Bloodtalon, the deepest red that you have ever seen. We were always together, whether it was helping the goblins in ratchet dealing with the persistent threat of pirates, fending off the Centaur intrusions into the barrens, or dealing with the alliance in the Warsong gulch. One day a crane operator in ratchet asked to recover some 99 year old port that this crazy old goblin stole from a regular shipment from booty bay. The thief was tracked to the entrance of the wailing caverns, which left both myself and Enraptor a little hesitant, since we could hear sinister sounds coming from within. After a few minutes to drink some liquid courage, we bravely set foot inside and came across a menacing Deviate wind serpent, which we quickly dispatched. Feeling confident from our first encounter, we went further inside the caverns, only to have some deviate stalkers appear out of no where to ambush us. Enraptor bravely took them on, while I did my best to fend them off with my supply of arrows. By the time we dealt with them, Enraptor was torn up, and my arms were sore, but we survived. While going through the remains of our defeated enemies, we can across a feather like that, and Enraptor immediately noticing its uniqueness would add perfectly to his bling bling that all raptors must have. Shortly after we found that mad goblin, slew him and took back the stolen port to the crane operator, and spent some time tending our wounds. Enraptor and I remained best of friends until our adventures took us to Un’Goro Crater, where we were charged with rescuing this goblin that got trapped, and was severely dehydrated at Fire Plume Ridge. We managed to get him half way down the ridge, when all of a sudden some elementals attacked us. We dispatched the elementals, but not without significant cost: Enraptor was severely burned. I did my best to tend his wounds, but the sickly goblin demanded my attention, and Enraptor let me know that I could escort the goblin to safety and then comeback for him later. After I saw Ringo, the sickly goblin, back to Marshal's Refuge where he could be safely taken care of, I rushed back to Enraptor. By the time I got there, there was a large female ravasaur tending Enraptor (and I could tell that Enraptor was really enjoying the attention). The ravasaur leapt to attack me, but Enraptor stood between us. It was at that instant, that I knew what I had to do, and that was let my companion and friend of many years go to live his own life. Enraptor offered me his treasure feather, but I refused to take it all, and used my dagger to cut it cleanly in half, leaving half of the feather for Enraptor’s bling, and keeping half for myself. I left Un'Goro shortly after that, wishing my old friend Enraptor a happy and long life, and met my new companion, Purrty, shortly after in Winterspring while helping another goblin who had gotten in trouble. After a pause to think a bit, Kailand digs out his half feather and stares at it, gets up and matches it to the one his mount has, and it matches perfectly. Kailand heads back to the fire, sits down, with a smile and a tear coming down from his left eye, tossing in another load of scrunchies. Kalea
Kalea sits down next to Kailand at the fire, smiling at the delight in his eyes as the scrunchies burn. He nods hello and turns as a soft padding is heard behind them. Out of the dark comes a large ghost wolf that lies down next to the Tauren. Your story of Enraptor reminds of the days when I discovered Moonrunner here. She absently leans back and scratches the wolf between the ears. My mother always told me that the spirits would send me a guide to teach and protect me. As a young Tuaren in Mulgore, we are all tested. One of the tests is to follow a spirit wolf to an Elder. I was very young when this happened to me. As soon as we reached the Elder, the spirit wolf disappeared, but I heard a voice in my mind say "We will meet again, young shaman". For weeks I felt the wolf around me, but each time I turned to find it, I saw only a sparkle in the air that could have been the sunlight. My favorite time in each cycle has always been the rising of the moon. From early in my life, I sat on the banks of Stonebull Lake at night, watching the moon rise and listening to the sounds of the creatures of the plain settling in for the night. Once I could turn into a ghost wolf, I would run in the moonlight, smelling the creatures in the wind and hiding in the shadows. Every night I searched for he wolf, but could only catch the faintest hint of her in the air. One night as I sat by the lake, I was startled by the large ghost wolf that softly padded up to my side. In my mind I heard her speak: "I have been sent to teach and protect you, young one. You're disturbing the pack with your bolting about and howling. Come, learn the ways of the wolves. My name is Moonrunner and I will be your companion until the day of your death." From that day to this, Moonrunner is always by my side, even if she is seen only by me. I've been prodded and nipped and howled at a lot as I learned. Even now she's a sarcastic voice in my head when I'm doing something she questions. I fear I'm not a very good wolf, by her standards, but I spend time each night listening to her lessons. The wolf raises it's head, nips at the Tauren's tail and pads softly off into the night. Corellon
Yes I have written, it isn't finished, but I can do this in parts and it reads like a book . . . Dah moo. . . Born in Red Cloud Mesa to a family of farmers. Smedlock was very content with his peaceful life. Making his routine trips to the well and talking with Greatmother Hawkwind. She spoke of tormoil in lands far from where I gew up and I did not worry about it. I had never experienced the violence of anything. Once a month we would gather at the great Kodo Rock and go on a hunt for food. My father was one of the members and I would sit and watch. When my father would go, I would wonder around playing with friends and listening to the elders of the camp. My favorite was Harutt Thunderhorn, he had such exciting stories of lands beyond the barrens, where my father hunted. He spoke of several great caves in the barrens that helped make him strong. He wanted to teach these ways, but my parents wouldn't hear of it. But, I was learning from him non the less. He would send me off to do tasks that other members of the tribe needed done and I would go. One day while trying to find out what the Gnolls where up too in Brambleblade Ravine. I hear screams and yells coming from the village. I ran back as fast as I could. When getting there, all I saw was smoldering tents and Harutt was there with a long face. He grabbed me as soon as he saw me. “sit boy!” he said, “we have been attacked by night elves”. I tried to get up to see where my family was and he held me down. “Listen boy!!” he continued, “do not look, they are not there”. I began to well up with tears as he told me “this is where you become a man and learn how to defend yourself” Harutt stood and told me “you know of the ways of the Tauren and it's time for you to know of the world”, Harutt handed me a bag and told me to take it to Krang Stonehoof in Bloodhoof Village. He said “Be strong Smedlock, find your parents and defend your lands from these horrible beings”. Being of what I thought the grand age of 6 I felt that this first trip by myself would be fairly simple. As I left the saftey of the mesa, I could see that things where going to be tough. So I put on a deteminded face and did what anyone in my place would do. Run like the wind and don't stop till I made it to Bloodhoof. It wasn't long before I could see Stonebull Lake and the village. I met with Krang, he said “well done! Now since you look defenseless you will need to be trained”. I sighed and looked around at the other trainees moving about and began my training.
