Guest Votive
OK, Eldy asked for an honest answer here. I think the only way to get people into this guild is to group outside the guild looking for non guilded people. Everyone needs to do this. But hence this is a double edged blade as we are trying to grow more acustomed to grouping with one another. Listening to the other members of the guild. Grouping with the possible recruit. Questioning them. etc... The way Saite invited Lego into the guild was good. Put them on a trial run. Try to stay away from Druids and Rangers, tho dont segregate, dont look. We could use one or 2 necros. And a few SK's, but in this respect we dont get many due to our name. Tunare aint one to dabble in reanimating corpses to do her bidding. Beastlords, /shrug. Has a purpose been found to have a need for these? No More Rogues! j/k. Could use 1 or 2 more for now. Monks, one or two more. Shammy's one more. (I am talking 45 + here) Your right on the war, wiz, cler, chanter. Tho I think a strive for 10 is good, I think 6 or 7 is more reasonable and reachable. Also we need Mages. 4 - 6 Mages. Warsaw is the only one as of now correct? We tried the whole take in everyone approach. And we learnd from that mistake. We need to be choosey yet open. Thats my honest opinion
Huddig
Bladeswinger wants back in the guild. He also has two friends who want in. 53 warrior and a 5x druid. Was going to invite them last night but then Innoruuk crashed out hard. If ya see em online try to get the invite done. I'll see if hes on tonight when I log. Huddig
Bladeswinger is back (warrior) his friend (Nghia) and his friends girlfriend (druid) are in the guild. There is a little issue with Nghia. Marque says he was removed from Elysiums Triad for Ninja looting a BP in Hate. I talked to Nghia about it and he says it didn't go down like that. He says. yes he was removed, but it was a hasty decision and that the invited him back a couple of weeks ago. The incident happened 6 weeks ago he said. I told him that he was on a probationary status for 2 weeks. So I'll keep an eye on him. If he doesnt work out he understands that we will be removed with no hard feelings. Saite
I will keep my eyes open for new recruits, I get tells all the time wanting to know if we are taking new peeps in. The question that I have, are we going to put a level limit up. I know it was 35 but we are trying to get new peeps in and alot of them at that level are already in guilds. We would have to get some mid levels and hope they level up regularly. NO MORE BARDS! hehehe I invited Legollen and he is giving chasing my tail hard and catching up....time for Saite to take her gloves off and do some damage. Eldoran Nobleheart
no doubt about it SLoT needs peeps but i dont wanna rush out there and start inviting like crazy that has gotten us into trouble in the past, instead i wanted to hear ideas how we could get quality folks! Huddig once mentioned about posting on Inny.com and i think its a great idea but if someone chooses this method they must be rdy for alot of tells and any invites must be put on a very strict probation period! Lolanya1
The Hive or Spock's creedo I agree that we need more of the many classes of appropriate levels, but I do not necessarily agree on the rush aspect of it. I have been witness to SLoT's slow progression through 3 reinventions of itself. I have reinvented my role within the guild once already (starting as an over-played Ranger, moving to an overly needed Cleric), with a new persona (Shansa - Monk almost 26) moving up as a 3rd rendition. I do not believe that we are doomed if we do not find more of a particular class and/or level in the present. Face it, we are not ToV material yet. We'll not be for some time, and that's not a bad thing. We've seen what over-population can do to our guild time and time again. I think a slow and steady build-up is in order for SLoT this time. We have no (or should have no) definite time-table for this building period. Anyone among our ranks who thinks we are not a Plane-caliber guild is not paying attention. The continual, gradual, somewhat painful completion of epics should, and will, proceed as scheduled. We will complete a cleric epic, a druid epic, a warrior epic, and an enchanter epic in short order. These will definitely require the assistance of another guild or two. We have established a rapport with Ridgerunners. This is very good. Cement that relationship by adding them as an allied guild. Others of us have friends within other powerful guilds: Seria has AV contacts; Windiien and I have TD contacts; I also have SotM contacts. (I'm sure there are more that I am not privy to) We will need these resources and guides as we strive to become a better collection of egos and personalities, races and classes. Keep playing the game. What we want to accomplish will happen in its own good time. The following is my breakdown of needs for the guild. Though we have no time-frame, per se, we have an outstanding need for the classes and numbers listed. I refuse to believe that a class or race is unimportant, but see that we may have reached our quota for a class at this time, and therefore should not actively recruit members of this profession. I apologize if I sound repetitive to Eldy or Twurp, but I want everyone to try to see the greater need for these classes as we work to make ourselves ToV/Sleepers/Ssra ready. All listed characters are 40+ 5 Bards 5 Clerics 5 Enchanters 3 Magicians 4 Monks 3 Necromancers 5 Paladins 5 Rangers 9 Rogues 7 Shadow Knights 3 Shamen 15 Warriors 5 Wizards You may notice I didn't list Beastlords or Druids. The former, I based on Twurp's observation about the usefulness of the class in a guild raid setting. The possible exception to this is their complexity in the warder/buff area. Each 51+ Beastlord is equivalent to two tanks, albeit, non-taunting. Omitting Druids speaks for itself. While indispensible in any guild grouping situation, open recruitment of Druids is an unnecessary act. This was shown in bold detail by the readmittance of Bladeswinger, who returned with the stipulation of his two friends being admitted, one of which is a Druid. Plainly put, druids seek us out. I am banking on the continuation of this tradition, of course. I leave you with this thought I got from another, very successful guild within our servers confines. Their motto, which should be on your minds as you go about your daily groupings and levelings and such, I paraphrase now, as I do not remember in the any sort of detail each line. I get it. I hope you do as well. "We understand that our aim is to better each other, for it is in helping our fellow guildmates get stronger that we get stronger. As each member becomes the best he or she can be, the whole of the guild gains in knowledge and strength. We set aside our greed and our want for the betterment of the whole." Let's get better one day at a time, one person at a time, one level/epic/raid at a time.
Rumblebore
I know that at one time I wanted to post an idea I had about Recruitment, but i cannot find it and think I amy have deleted it before posting it. Whatever it was, I came across (by serendipity) a website that essentially is my idea in full form, but for another Server - Rallos Zek. RZ is a PVP server and the guild in question - No Tears - has another Guild called No Tears Initiates (NTI). Please go to the site and mull over the possibilities. http://www.notears.org/initiates.php The basic idea is to have another Guild (Initiates of Tunare?) which is truly a part of SLoT, but to teach younger players and PC's the art of guild play. NTI is meant to teach younger players how to be Anti-PK (Anti-Player Killers; PC's who solo or group with intent to kill other PC's and loot coin and 1 item, which is the Server Rule). Perhaps we are not ready for this new Guild, but if we put our Alts in that Guild and say that by level 35 you have to either be invited into SLoT or find another Guild as part of the charter of that Guild, then when we play alts we can help newer players to grow into viable candidates for SLoT. Please peruse the site and think about this idea. I especailly hope you read the Blood Rite page, how someone is initiated into the Guild. It is especially hard when you realize that running across Norrath naked where PC's can kill you as easily as monsters can makes the initation pretty hairy. but I really like the idea. http://www.notears.org/bloodrite.php This is meant to be a long term idea.
