Silvana and the steeds

It was a wonderous day.  Silvana glanced up at the sky and thought to herself it must be nearly 15 minutes before the hour of Eight and she was still running behind in collecting the herbs that Kazoo needed for her potions.  Silvana felt different today and she was having trouble focusing.  She was being pulled by a force and she could not explain it.  Sylvana knew that whatever was happening was destined and for good or worse she would not be able to resist.  Her mind made up to let fate run its course she prayed to Hera and asked that she smile upon her or if she was to die that Hera make it quick.

Sylvana shook her head.  She knew where she was, but knew not of how she had arrived along the river of fire in the Fire Caverns.  She heard a sound similar to that of the unicorns she often would feed near Spirituality but as she rounded a bend in the river what she saw was no unicorn.  Flames licked the body of a magnificently muscled mare.  Its forehead scarred where it appeared a horn once had been.  Little time was granted to Silvana to admire the beast as it eyed her and began a charge.  Before she knew what was happening she had been burned in a dozen places and bitten in a dozen more.  Help was far away none knew she was here.  Silvana quickly galloped down a passage and onto a ridge.  Here she would make her final stand.  Today had been  a good day.  It had been a beautiful day, she would hold no contempt towards Hera when she met her in the afterlife.

"Nightshade you have been a noble companion.  I fear this is the last ride we shall be taking together, this steed surely has the best of me."

The steed was close now, it would be upon her in no time at all.  Silvana thrust her head high and her arms above her head and thanked Hera for the sight of such a noble creature.  What more fitting death could come to a Knight of Hera than to be slain by a creature as beautiful and as powerful as this.  The steed of fire was upon her when she caught the glimmering portal out of the corner of her vision.  Silvana slumped in her saddle only to be grabbed from it by Lora De Blood as she sprung from the gate and layed healing hands upon her Heran sister.

Silvana looked up and smiled knowing what she must do; why Hera had brought her here.  Jumping back onto Nightshade Silvana charged the oncoming steed and catapulted onto its back.  Grabbing hold of its mane she pulled back and then spoke words into his ears.  The flaming body reared raking the air with its fiery front hooves.  The firesteed then glanced over its shoulder snickered and gave what Silvana would have sworn was a smile if equines could smile.

A pact had been made here.  THere would be other magnificent steeds such as this walking the lands soon.  Silvana had already heard tales of such, but this one would be her companion.  Hera had indeed smiled upon her today.

As Lora and Silvana stepped forth from the Fire Caverns SIlvana glanced up.  What had seemed like hours was meer minutes.  It could have been no later than a few minutes past the hour of Eight.  Perhaps Kazoo wouldnt get that mad.  Afterall Perhaps some sulfer could be gathered from the new mount she rode and Kazoo could make a magnificent exploding potion with it....yes Kazoo would forgive her.

Later that day Silvana came upon Johnny of The United Tamers of Brittainnia.  He motioned for her to follow and stepped into a moongate.  Silvana saw another magnificent Firesteed before her as she emerged into deciet.  With the help of Johnny and later that of Prometheus this steed to was befriended.
