Borg Posted August 18, 2002 Share Posted August 18, 2002 3D Artist Purpose Utilizes traditional art training and knowledge of animation, design and computer graphics software to help define the project aesthetic and produce 3D art/animation. Works on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation. Exercises independent judgment within broadly defined practices and guidelines. Essential Job Functions Creates artistic prototypes/concepts Builds and modifies all aspects of a rich online world, including characters, creatures, flora, architecture, and effects/phenomena Model building, texture mapping and animation Works with Senior Producer to help set the style for art/animation Works with the Development team to help solve technical hurdles Provides assistance to art contractors when necessary Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or equivalent work experience; degree in Architecture desired Minimum 3 - 5 years previous experience producing 2D/3D graphics within the gaming industry Conceptual flatwork experience with both characters and backgrounds Proficient in 3D Studio Max and Photoshop Must be able to demonstrate solid low-poly modeling and texture mapping skills High quality lighting and color skills Strong leadership skills and initiative Ability to work in a team environment is essential Previous experience with motion captured animations a plus Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
