Martok
Here is the low down. As the computer gaming industry continues to advance, minimum system requirements are jumping through the roof to play these games. For SWG, this is what is suggested: Pentium 4 1.4 or greater 64mb Vid Card (128 suggested) 256 of RAM I myself will have to upgrade to a new computer. I know Borg will as well. (Borg is running at only 500mhz and I only have 700mhz.) For those of you who has played some of the newer games like DAoC know what importance a faster system has. DAoC for instance is brutal on me. Very slow and constant crashing. I upgraded my vid card about a year ago. While that helped, my processor is still a snail. For those of you who will be purchasing a new system, I suggest cashing in on a Pentium 2.8. The new 3.06's are out and this Christmas the 2.53's and 2.8's will be dropping in price significantly. Lets get ready! SWG is coming! That's NO Moon!
Balandar
Ouch. I barely have the minimum to play it. Well slightly less on CPU but more than enough on memory. Are these "minimum requirements" the very base line that you MUST have in order to play the game at all? Or are these the minimum for a decent enjoyable experience for the game? (crashes, lockups, graphic errors) Just think of this DAoC comparrison: 1-with less than stated requirements above, think of it as taking part in a keep defense all the time. 2-with the requirements above or better, think of it as a stroll through the lonely Vanern Swamp or Cursed Forest. ::

Really? Wonder why my system, even now, is slow during a keep defense. I hope that SWG has better frame rates. Guess we have to wait for Shrouded isles and then compare. Lan
Shrouded Isles is still laggy. I just upgraded to a 4400ti but running a 550 processor and its slow and laggy still. I'm going to upgrade the processor within the next couple weeks and i'll let you know how that makes a difference, if any at all
Prometheus
Eeep, I'm just barely squeezing by on video card and system RAM and im about 150 ghz short of that processor speed wise ...
Hothgorn TheBlack
I agree, that is a wee bit steep. Considering I wasn't planning on playing said game, I won't worry about it. ####, just spent money for a 1.5g laptop, just so I can sqeeze gaming in when I can. At the moment, I've been playing alot of Age of Mythology. Is anyone else playing that? --Hothgorn TheKillerofnastygreekswithmanlynorsegods "A bellweather isn't smarter, their just a little more greedy, a little more hungry."--Connie Willis "Bellweather"

Hothgorn TheBlack
I recomend it. The civs actually have a different way of working now. The 3d is a nice touch too. --Hothgorn TheBlack
Wolf
I will definately have to upgrade prior to even entertaining playing SWG. My system doesn't meet any of the requirements. Hey Tok, How's that website coming ?? Just kidding. I'll make some time to get the final version done and transfer files over to Bal so we can put up a page in the near future
