Rumblebore
I found this info on EQ-Lizers web site. Thought it best we know about it going on. From : http://www.eq-lizer.com/ Serverfilter Working As Intended? 17:50 EST - Meshell A nice player (Kelaan from the Tribunal Server), wrote into me recently and linked me to several message boards where players had complained the /serverfilter option is not working correctly. This player felt it's important enough to bring to everyone's attention, and I agree. Here is a quote about this topic: The server filter is enabled in game by typing "/serverfilter on" and likewise disabled by typing "/serverfilter off". Normally, all combat misses, spells, channel chatter and so on are still sent to your client even if you have them turned off. Disabling these in the options will only prevent this data from spamming your chat windows, and not your connection. ----->>> What the server filter should do is stop the server from even sending your computer that data. This cuts down on quite a bit of the incoming network traffic that you receive, and can improve connectivity in heavy raid situations. <<<----- (IMPORTANT) That said, at the moment it does not appear to be working as intended. Best Regards, Jonathan Caraker Sony Online Entertainment http://www.everquest.com To read the entire thread on this topic on the Everquest Board, go here-> http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everquest/Forum3/HTML/033952.html <-, here-> http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everque...TML/034535.html <- or here->http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everque...TML/034552.html <-. Sending in /feedback in the game and also emailing your concerns over fixing this important tool (it helps reduce lag for one and can help stop some linkdeads on large raids), will assist in correcting the problem.
