Rumblebore
Tonight I gave an assignment to all who were in the officer meeting. Spend the weekend thinking about what 3 goals you want to see the guild accomplish. What are the three MOST important things the YOU as a leader or Officer believe is necessary to accomplish now to make the guild the best it can be. This may be a spoiler, but here are mine. 1) Define what this guild is and where we are going, making rules, guidelines and all appropriate lists to address the primary and secondary issues that come up (Invites, problem resolution, raids, looting, epics, discipline, etc) and making the SLOT website CLEARLY indicate what those are. 2) Get at least 4 clerics up to 50+ and all 4 with Epic. This will cost time, Plat and a lot of extra effort to accomplish, but will benefit the guild on raids immensely. Prefer that all other clerics be made at least planar and on the road to epic. 3) Regular raiding in the same place on a weekly basis IN RAID MODE. Eldy brought this up again tonight. Choose places logically. For example, we are tending to be on Dragon Faction. One week have regular raiding in EW & GD for lower levels (. this is also for grouping, XP, etc. You must put in at least 60% of your online time in these raids. Allowances will be made for higher level (60+) for whom no XP will be gained on these raids. Perhaps only 30-40% of their time is on these raids. Ok, these are what I am thinking is important. Right now, raiding/camping for specific items are only to be done in your personal time. Your ideas may be totally different. GREAT. Post them. There is no wrong or right here, there is only your list of the top 3 goals for us to reach for. later this week, we will look at them all and decide about them. Email me with your list if you cannot post here and I ill post it. email - dsojournerb@hotmail.com
Leanessa Sylverfoxx
1) Main priorty....specify what a raid is for...such as-- a. Training as a group. b) Loot items (if this raid is for a specific person or item then so state what is needed for that person. c) Set a time limit for the raid. Say that it is a Hate Raid or Fear Raid set a time limit of 8 hrs...(this is just a ph for the limit) and if we haven't achieved our goal by then we leave and try again another time....people tend to have short attention spans on long raids and after a certain amount of time get impatient or tired or stressed...and more deaths occur because of this... 2) Concentrate on the higher level zones....not only better drops but exp for the higher level people in our guild...which is very very hard to come by for the hl chars....if you think that Fear or Hate is hard try going to FG or ME or even the new POP planes. This is not to say that we can't have raids for the lower levels ...but to be honest here the lower levels can get exp in many many many different areas in this game. 3) Epics.... and I am only listing this because from the beginning of this game that was the highest main goal of the game...to become one that has accomplished several feats and has earned his/her epic. And from reading a few of the walk thrus for epics if you have noticed...the beginning of an epic is fairly simple....time consumming but simple...but as you get towards the end of the epic that is where the grouping and raiding starts...and therefore you get exp as a group and as a raiding party.... Ok Rumble...here is my input....and I hope that even if they aren't put up as the main 3 .....that they may be incorperated into part of the goals that we set for this guild... Lotara
What officers meeting? I did not hear about it until I read it here. Which is one of my major complaints. No advanced warning or not enough for when guild events happen. 1. I, also, like Rumblebore, think that number one should be the organization of the guild and getting the information out to all the peoples of the guild. That is one of the reasons for the web-site. Let people have their say in the forum when discussing new issues, then only vote at guild meetings after airing a topic in the forum for say a week. Tell the guildmembers that they can discuss things in the Forum, not in the meetings. During meeting Chat should be held to a minimum of clarification or questions not covered in Forum. 2. Set up a Raid Committee that takes charge of all raids from level 20 raids (such as High Keep) to Planes raids. Have a progression of raids from Beginning, Intermediate, Advances, Planes, or Epics. Rumblebore has some good suggestions in his #3 and Lea's #2. I would like to see all Official Guild Raids be listed in the Guild Calendar at least a month ahead of time with cut-off for Reservations a week before. That would give the committee time to get the people that they need to fill in the gaps. Time limits should be applied to all Raids such as 4 to 6 hours unless people are notified in advanced that they may be longer than 6 hours. Raid Committee plans Monthly Calendars then assigns an individual Leader to carry out specific activities. Being a working, single person I am limited on the amount of time I can devote to EQ. With planned Saturday Raids, Zann can make more of them, but not all Sat. This is counter to Rumblebore's #2 because Zann get hardly any experience in Raids and if she spends all of her time in Raids, she will not get the exp necessary to level. 3. Set up groups to gain levels and get experience in grouping. Going to one location, such as High Keep in 20s and 30s, Echo in 30s and 40s, etc, for a 3 to 6 hour period. Or to get some specific (general) items. These would not be Raids. These could be held like on a planned week night (or daytime for those that work nights or are free during the day). I envy all of those players that can be on anytime and have lots of time to do their own thing. Tara as a Bard spends lots of her own time in increasing her instruments skills. Much worse than Zann spends in increasing her spell skills. Then there are the other skills that must be increased because Zann wants to do the Prayer Shawl Quest. Finally, I see this guild is developing layers. I do not see a lot of more experienced players helping younger players (level wise) except for a few. I am guilt of that myself. Part of that is that we are so large and it is not clear who is Main and who is Alt. For every account/computer there should be a listed Main Character on the Guild Roster and no more than 2 Alts for that Main. Only characters on the Roster can reserve space on Raids. Then, we invite others as space permits, either within the guild, alts not in guild, or members from other guilds. With more prior planning of raids, including that all of the necessary people (Warriors, Clerics, etc) are accounted for, more Clerics and others will participate. It is easier to heal one person in a group (MA) than 2 or 3 individuals. And I have seen nothing about how Evacs are to be handled. Warriors and other tanks that do not have Gate, as well as Cleric's during Invincibility Spell would like to know how Evacs are going to be handled and by whom. Not many of younger players know that when Clerics are Invincible they can not cast nor receive spells. This means that they could be left behind durning an Evac if prior arrangements have not been made. And what arrangements are made for an orderly withdrawl from Raid. Eldy you take these things into consideration, but what about other Raid Leaders? And finally, I think this is a great guild and I am proud to be in it. I do not intend on leaving unless guild activities interfer with my characters leveling to higher levels so that I can help even more. I have not been on Raids as Zann because I have been too busy leveling her. Level 49 is 90 percent Rez and 51 is AA. Only a very few people have helped her gain levels. Or even cared. McMikahl has had his LFG sign up almost daily but has he been asked to join a group? Yet everyone wants the Warriors and Clerics during Raids. So we continue to go round and round with no clear cut answer just two ends of the continum and all of the opinions in between. Leadership is suppose to make decisions based upon feedback from the players. Most of the time when decisions are made, individuals will stop discussing the issues and get on with the plan. We have the feedback (hopefully the Survey results will be posted on the Forum soon), now the Officers needs to take the leadership role and tell people what we are going to do and how they can help the Guild. How can I help? More weekly Officers Meetings? Assigned tasks? Let me know how I can help this guild. Regards, Tara and Zann
qque
Yea, i am an arsehole.... Goal1) I want to weed out all those that do not attend raids on a regular basis. I am not talking about those that have prior commetments from time to time , i am talking about those that NEVER attend ay of the guild functions. I htink that if you miss 3 raids in a row without a really good excuse you are not committed to making this a strong teir guild. Goal2) Get these people to understand the importance of doing what is asked without question or argument during raids. I figure if they have a problem with the way the raid is being handled by the raid leader then they can move on. If one person isnt willing to move where and when asked then the whole raid is in danger. Goal3) Get more people intersted in helping guild obtain those epic weapons. This means when asked to get to a spot for a rare spawn epic mob they go with out an hour worth of talking them into it. People here seem to think if it isnt for them it isnt important. I leave plane parties to assist on epic pieces usually causing me lose in exp and death, but willing to do so for an epic drop.
mcmichael
goal 1) develope players in guild, seems we have a lot of players under the 45 lvl....which makes it hard for them to participate in any raid that is planned 2)planned xp raids during week, for all lvl's,one during the week for say the 50+ as the main target, another for the 49 and under.also would like to see the planned raids post on the calendar, especially if we are planning a week or 2 in advance 3)lol,haven't gotten that far as of yet, just read post, did not know about meeting....maybe we could get a notes person to give the general run down of meetings in forums....possibly also post in general forums about issues that are being addressed, because if we have been approached with an issue, many times the person does not think that it has been addressed,or simply ignored after pacifying person by listening to them....so far all the goals i have seen posted are worthy and worth thinking about...but until we get results from poll... Lord Ser Brightblade
My suggestions after playing for several years and from being in some other guilds and having many friends in some of the Uber guilds of our server is to: 1. Epic as many players as we can. Especially Clerics and Enchanters. 2. Level people like mad. The more high end players there are the better we are in any raid even if its overkill. Youll never have a complaint from people saying we dropped a boss to easily but people will definitly whine if we get caught with our britches down. Spending an hour or two a week donating ones time to power leveling those of lower levels will pay off in the end if they are truely guild motivated. It will help to obtain epics, keys, planer access in PoP the list goes on. Without enough high level people many things are just beyond grasp. 3. As already mentioned set up a weekly event that all know will occur such as Kael for faction and quest armor. If there is a consistent event people should show for it. I know I would. 4. I know you only asked for thre items but I had to add that the guild should do everything possible to assist the tanks in getting very high AC. Without tanks that can take a beating any high end raid becomes much more work than it should. Tradeskills should also be a priority as there are many great items that can be crafted and rival many of the higher end rarely dropped items. There is no excuse other than lack of skill for every Ranger in the guild not to have one of the new uber crafted bows, the casters some of the new uber jewlery etc. Its small things like these that make the difference. I have seen mediocre level raiders excell where they should have gone down due to being decked out with player crafted materials. Likewise I have seen high end raiders get dropped due to lack of equiptment.
Linaboom
ok input ok i think i can do that #1) epic the clerics a must...also everyone high end needs to get their epic weapon #2) to help everyone understand what we all need to do on plane raids. I know I learned oh so much when Eldy took a group to mistmoore just to train and see who was doing what. He covered MA and when to move when to stayand where caster go where melee go for someone who as never done a raid these are all things that they need to not just no but at least practice once to see how it feels and works. Rummy im sure you remember that day we all learned alot. Because when it comes time for Fear or Hate if you have never been on any big funtion you dont know what to do or who to listen too. There has been alot of times when peeps listen to the wrong people and it can get us wiped out fast. #3) AC for Tanks a must.. they need to be as bad as we can make them. also the more Tanks the better. and on a last note Qque made a point on people that NEVER attend any of the guild funtions. I dont think they benifet the guild at all. I havnt been able to attend the raids lately with Lina and its gonna be awhile before im able to play Lina full time again(I got bad wrists and a bard can be hard on them) Ill be playing Hona but she is only lvl 34 and shes too low to attend till i get her lvld up(I can play her much longer than i can Lina)....hehe no twisting involved :sword: well 2 cents from me :wow:

Saite
Okies....here what I think 1) Epics....A Must! We should set aside one or two days a week were we do nothing but camp epic mobs. 2) Pl'ing sessions are very good, we do have some lower people that we could help. Especially Enchanters, which we desperately need. 3) Raids, raids and more raids. Do so many raids that these people will dream about them and see the rules of the raids flashing in their minds. Hopefully it will become like second nature to them and when they enter even just a xp group...they will still implement the rules. Something that happened the other day, I wont mention names but most of us know who it was, asked how they would benefit from helping one of our guildmates in attaining a piece for their epic.....I did not like this comment, I thought it was very pompous of them to say this. This is the type of attitude that I do not want to see in this guild.
