Balandar
This is what was sent to me. The load issue became a problem last night. There were many ikonboard scripts running and they were not closing quickly, but staying in the run queue for up to half an hour. This was causing a load issue which was affecting some of the other domains on the server. However, as this does not appear to be a repeat issue or an intentional abuse the scripts have been reenabled for monitoring. Web forums are highly resource intensive, especially the Perl/SQL variety due to the requirement for having to spawn a new process for every request as well as well as the additional SQL overhead. The issues may have been caused by an ikonboard scripting bug or a database that needs maintenance. If ikonboard has a PHP version, perhaps you could try that, as it would be parsed with Apache's built in PHP parser instead of having to create the CGI process for every hit. So I will be looking at PHP boards. Ikonboard is still in beta with its PHP board.
