Elathiel
I was asked, as Senator of the Empire, to forward a couple of things many in the Empire are growing more and more concerned about. This is posted here for all to see as well as mailed to the Emporor himself. Sire, We are running into many instances that have required a quick and sturdy response that can only come from the Emporor himself. However, due to otherworldly matters, you are unable to tend to these things as often as I know you would like and is gravely needed. The things that have come up recently have needed a 'final word' to put them to rest, but that word has become slow in coming unfortunately. Not a single soul is questioning your undying love of the Empire and each and every person in it, but we need a solution to this issue. Also, along this same line, we are running into instances, several, of people earning promotion in rank and title, but due to the same issue, title changes can take a very very long time in coming. I know of at least 5-6 people that have been awaiting the change for well over a month now. I personally feel that if someone has earned a promotion, and it has been announced throghout the Empire for all to know, then that change should be made right away so that they feel as appreciated as they truly are. Also, in my personal opinion, the Codex needs some minor revisions to clarify a few things. "Article III- Legion Section 2- Roles Paragraph I The Senator of War is in charge of everything that goes on within the Legion. Each and every member that fights in the name of Honor for PGoH is his responsibility and subject to the orders he gives. He is in charge of promotions, demotions, discipline, and any matter concerning a member of the Legion. He is also responsible for the upkeep of the PGoH Battle Tactics Manual." This says Sir Rand is responsible for discipline and demotions within the Legion, yet he is taking loads of criticism for doing so. "Article V- State Section 5- Criminal Acts Paragraph i If a member is found to be in personal violation of a crime, or found to behave in a manner unbecoming of a Purple Guardian of Honor, or is guilty of a crime listed below then that member is dealt with by the Senator of War if within the Legion, or the Head of State if outside of the legion. If the member in question is a legionnaire then the Emperor and Decurion shall deliberate on whether or not the Legionnaire is allowed to continue their stay within the Empire of the Purple Guardians of HONOR. If a member violates the Ultima Online Code of Conduct or Ultima Online Terms of Service Agreement their membership within the Empire shall be terminated. Paragraph ii Certain Crimes, known as Crimes against the State, will result in immediate banishment from the realm, upon a guilty finding. 1. Falsehood; Absence of Truth and Concern 2. Hatred; Absence of Love and Tolerance 3. Cowardice; Absence of Courage and Desire" This also states that it is the Senator of War's place to deal with criminal acts, which are understood to be cowardice/disobeying a direct order, yet the HOW he can deal with it is left unclear. This needs to be adressed as well. I simply feel that with what has transpired these last 2 days could have been avoided if the Codex was a bit more clear in these 2 areas. The dispute between Kodoz/Bill against Rand was all over Rand dealing out punishment for behavior unbecoming a member of the Empire. I am one of MANY that grow tired of being forced to deal with such petty things in the little time we have in Brittania. I know, in your wisdom, that you will have solutions to these issues after a bit of thought. So, with that said, your thoughts on these matters Sire?
