Nurlaten
I totally spaced on the points for this raid, i have some stuff written down from when i was making groups, but am not completly sure when some people left. Please help me finish this. Just putting time done Daulton 5 hr Mcmikahl 5 hr (signed up) Shawdar 5 hr Eldoran 5 hr Jaqs 5 hr (signed up) Aaeodar 5 hr Nurlaten 5 hr (signed up) Rumblebore 4.5 hr (signed up) Nadannu 5 hr (signed up) Wallorn 5 hr (signed up) Zymmit 5 hr Shins 5 hr Aedemon 1 or 2 hr? Luccas Dunno? Utum 1 hr Ziam 5 hr Zannette 5 hr (she left a little earlier, but still stayed in the channel and helped) Duuo 2 hr Kirsty 5 hr Healthie 5 hr Lukiee 5 hr Bucephalus 5 hr Garretjax 2 hr? (He pissed me off by staying he had to leave and then went and did something else) Framir 5 hr Novawop 1 hr Fappas 5 hr? Lolanya 5 hr (signed up) Debrainy 3 or 4 hr? Beltzer Dunno? Guests: Gorrik (went on the UP raid sat) Sharanna (friend of gorrik) Vead-something (friend of duuo) Katsilverfoot (left guild partway through) I think that is everyone, most likely missed someone, heck i forgot mcmike last time. I think we should add points for people that tell us ahead of time they won't be able to make it, maybe 1 or 2 points, alta and kaab both told us they wouldn't show up, and that helps a ton with planning. Wallorn
Beltzer showed in the begining and was on of the ones that joined us as we just began our ascent just past the pool near door in to the Hole.
mcmichael
i have mentioned it to a couple ppl...we need a "general" on some of these raids...there is just too much to follow as a whole from a participant stand point...nurlaten,snaring some heals, buffs and all the while trying to keep track of who has left?too hard...someone standing back, pointing out mobs for next attack, pointing out that we have adds.this person could easily take names and times of ppl leaving...this person could also send tells to someone breaking mezzes...or attacking mobs on his/her own...without embarrassing or demeaning the person by doing it in /rs.from this point, someone may ask a question that they are unsure of how to do or handle something and problem may be solved right then and there. Rumblebore
/agree Mcmikahl. However, the general must be one we can spare to do this. I know from experience that watching Eldy pull and stand for often many minutes while we wait is because he is in tell hell. Having the Leader stand back can be a hard thing to watch, though I know that I often just put Rumble in front of the mob, actiovated attack and then attended to tells, sometimes dying as a result, but hey, they leading must be done right? While we grow and until people begin to get a really good sense of their part to play, this will probably be a good idea. I forsee a day where people know their one or two parts to play and that frees them to handle other little details easily. One warning - too many chiefs makes for a broken tribe. One Chief, a head warrior, a lead squaw, etc, are good ideas and make things move smoother. Lets get on the point that has been mentioned many times - assigning roles for a raid, MA, Raid Leader, War Leader, ML and Secondary Looter, etc. Then those people coordinate details. Nurlaten
Here's the way i see things on this subject. As the leader i can and should be doing most of what mcmikahl said, in fact i was in the hole. I was sending tells to everyone that i saw break mez or not assisting, i also told them ziam would be porting them to the nexus if i saw it again. I purposely don't put myself in a group where i should be healing much or in charge of snaring, i don't want to be answering someones question and have someone else die on me. For pointing out next mobs, in the future i will make the groups so the enchanter is in the same group as the MT. Zymmit is a quiet guy, he sent me a tell about mez breaking order, i told him to make a hotkey and put it in raid, he chose not to. Hopefully if Zymmit is grouped with the MT he will talk a little bit more. The way i see it, i as the leader shouldn't get any tells. If there is a question it should be asked in group, if the group leader doesn't know the answer they should ask in officer chat (i try to make the group leaders all officers). If no one answers in there or i miss it, that's when i (or whoever is leading) should get a tell. I have 3 chat windows open when i run a raid; one for battle spam, one for RS and raid chat channel and the third for tells, guildchat and ooc. This helps me not miss much stuff, but i still miss a lot of things. The point system should NOT be the raid leaders responsibility, i've tried twice and i just can't do it. If someone else running a raid wants to try juggling it, be my guest. Honestly when planning a raid the point system isn't a high priority for me. When this system was originally proposed i said something to the effect of "This looks great on paper, but can it be put into practice." This raid was extremely sloppy at the begining, this is mainly because there were 3 leaders and all of us were looking at the other to step forward. (Basically the chief analogy rumble just used) The MA wasn't properly assigned, there were 2 MA's and no SA for most of the raid, daulton wasn't appointed to ML til part way through, etc etc. I talked to wally about this a few days before and told him i'ld help, i had no idea until 45 mins before the raid that i was going to be running it. By the end the raid was going much smoother, maybe it's because many people had logged and there was less to watch over or something else. One more thing, i don't think this raid was an accurate representation of what i am capable of as a leader or what slot is capable of as a guild. It wasn't a very efficient raid, but we still got what we were after (for the most part) even if it did take way too long. I learned a ton and hopefully everyone else did too. Back on the subject though, when did the people leave? I feel bad not knowing and hopefully i can get this info while it's fresh in your memory. Lotara
Great summary. If you do a /log on at the beginning and /log off at the end you can get a very, very long timed transcript of the whole raid. Just do a search on eqlog and point to the character that was doing the logging. Zannette
