Winter Wind
Here is the situation. Off in Ilsh/Compassion again killing rats tongiht. Saw another player run by going Oooo OooOooo. Went in the direction he came from and saw his body. The rat archer that got him was just a few tiles away. It only had about 1/4 of it's life left. I finished it off while waiting for the other player (Winter can not rez). I tried to loot the archer I just killed and was told "You did not slay this creature." The player got rezzed and came back. Stood over him while he got his items, and took out a couple of rat men. He was able to loot the rat that killed him. but that I had finished off. Perhaps the looting rules have been changed. Will have to get a guilded character and non-guilded one to experiment and see.
Grelix
I asked a few people I know that have played longer than me about this and they said that looting is based on the amount of damage delt to the creature. The other player did 3/4 damage and you only did 1/4 meaning he still had looting rights. Don't know whether this is a change or not but thats what I found out, hope it helps. kodoz
Not true. A lone warrior can hit your dragon once and loot. Which really, really bites. If you get first hit you are guaranteed looting rights.
Elathiel
Last night we encountered this same thing killing rotting corpses in Ilsh. 3 of us, ungrouped, were all shootong them. Every 5-6 kills I couldnt loot, even tho I hit him no less than 6-7 times each kill. *shrugs*
