Steel DarKnight
Last eve, many of us enjoyed a round of Jousting in the Imperial Jousting Hall at Olympus. In conjunction with Doddz who introduced me to this event, we have put together a set of guidelines in order to promote this activity. Jousting Procedure. 1) Each contestant will take position at either end of the Jousting hall. 2) Each contestant will use a “use best weapon skill” lance. 3) The referee will start the match with the words “JOUST!” 4) Upon the start of the match each combatant will charge in an attempt to dismount his opponent. 5) The charge will continue until one or both combatants are dismounted. 6) A point is awarded for the winner, both combatants are awarded points if there is a dual dismount 7) The match will pause until the dismounted party or parties are remounted and each combatant has returned to his position in the Hall. 8) Repeat. General rules and guidelines. 1) Each combatant must carry a Lance (use best weapon skill) and Shield. 2) Outside interference is not allowed. 3) The audience is to be silent until the actual Joust is commenced. 4) Only the 2 combatants and the referee are to be in the area of combat. 4) General courtesy and common sense are to rule the day. 5) Only Horses are to be used as a mount. 6) The match winner is decided by the best 6 out of 10. 9) The referee’s ruling is final and the referee has the right to penalize or disqualify a competitor due to any rule violation or unsportsmanlike conduct. Again, I would like to thank Doddz whom explained this ruleset to me and wrote the initial draft. I have just revised and posted. Winter Wind
I like the UBWS lance idea. That opens the competition up to more than just fencers. Hopefully some matching lances can be found so nobody can complain that they lost because the other person had a better lance.
