Zemach
It looks like the NDA is lifted. I am sure that tons of information will be released over the next few days, so hopefully we can figure out how the game works and what we want to play. Martok
i AM IN LOVE!!! This is from the beta faq: Creating a Band Dancers and musicians are more effective as groups. Players who all share the ability to do a specific dance or song can form a band or dance troupe. They can then play a song together (with different instruments) or perform a dance together, and become even more effective at healing. To create a band, it's just like forming a regular group. Up to 8 people can be in a band. The first member of the band is the Band Leader. Band Leaders can invite people into the band and kick people out of the band. WOOOOT I wanna be in a band! Martok
10.4. Battlefields Battlefields are static areas marked off by beacon poles which surround them at about 30m intervals. These areas will always be the same but the timed battles themselves will cycle. Battles can only be ended by one of the two sides destroying the power generator of their foe, or the pre-set timer on that battle running out with no winner. During the course of a battle, each side accumulates Build Points in which they will use to build structures such as walls, turrets, constructors, or barracks. When a player approaches the perimeter of the battlefield, they will be prompted if they wish to join one of the sides. A player with a declared faction will only be asked if they wish to join their faction's side. A neutral player will be asked which side they wish to join. A player will always have to choose whether they wish to participate in the battlefield, they will never automatically become part of it against their wishes. A neutral player can join either side and not have to be declared to do so, and once they leave the battle they remain neutral. However, by joining a side, and destroying structures of the opposition, they will gain faction points for that side. This has no ramifications outside the battlefield whatsoever, but you will gain faction points nonetheless. This system has great benefits however to the declared faction players, as faction points gain them special abilities as they accumulate. So, you've picked a side, chosen to join the Battlefield, now what? Well, the first thing that happens is you get sent into your side's base of operations. In this base is a power generator, (the thing which you are trying to protect), a building constructor, and a headquarters or tower. All of this is surrounded by reinforced walls for your protection. In the middle of your base is also a waypoint that is visible to everyone in the battlefield. You will also notice that you can see your enemies waypoint. You also get added to a chat group associated with your team on the BF as well as a BF all Factions Chat Group. These are to help facilitate communications for your side to emerge victorious. Once a player has been killed in a battlefield, they get ejected from the field, and have to wait outside it's perimeter until the next battle starts. When you are killed in a Battlefield, you do not suffer the same penalties as if you were killed outside of it. You do not leave a corpse, you don't drop any of your items, you don't get cloned, you don't lose the insurance on your heavily insured items. You simply get booted from the battlefield and have to wait until the next battle to start so you can rejoin. Keep in mind that the Battlefields have a self-balancing nature to them, to prevent one side from totally overwhelming the other. If one side gets too overpopulated the game will not allow any more players to join that side until the underdog side has more people join it. The Building Constructor The Building Constructor is the structure that gives the players the ability to place other structures. Each one of these has a range at which it allows structures to be placed for your side. If your Building Constructor gets destroyed your side loses the ability to place more structures. If you try to place a structure outside the range of the BC, you will get a message saying so, and you will have to try and build that structure closer to the BC. You ARE able to build additional BCs to extend the range of your building capacity however. This tactic also makes it harder for the other team to cripple you by disabling your building powers. Building any structure costs your team Build Points, which are, as stated above accumulates naturally throughout the battle. More complex structures cost more Build Points, and building additional Building Constructors costs BPs as well. Also, these structures take time to be built, and are very easy to destroy by the enemy while in this building stage. Walls go up fairly easily and quickly. Some of the structures you can build with this BC are: Medium Wall Strong Wall Small turret Dish turret Tower turret Building Constructor Strong Column (these are used to create corners in your placed walls. You must use these otherwise your walls wont match up and players can get through the cracks Barracks (these allow players to check out faction pet NPC warriors, stormtroopers for Imperials and rebel fighters for Rebels. Only one can be checked out at a time, then by checking the "status" option you can see how long until another can be checked out. You must have more than 500 faction points for that faction to be able to check out one of these units. If you do not, you won't get the option to "Request Reinforcements". These units are only for use in the Battlefield and once the BF is over they disappear along with everything else associated with it. Any attempt to leave the BF area with these units will cause them to disappear forever. Training Your Units Once you get a stormtrooper/rebel soldier, you need to set the commands for them to follow. You do this by initiating conversation with them and choose what kind of command you wish to set, then speak the command once they ask you for it. Some commands you might wish to know about Battlefields. /battle (short for /battlefieldstatus) gives any player in the BF the general status of the BF /place (short for /placestructure) allows you to place a structure (within range of BC).
