Howarde
What to do? .. What to do? ... The rebirth of Vigilance has been somewhat exagerated. She is currently on Life Support, but hasn't much time to live I'm afraid. There was a glimmer of hope, but I really don't think we can save her. :-( Sorry, but I'm enjoying SWG so much more that SB and don't have the time or farming ability to keep up the city alone. Not to mention that noone can farm for maintenance income since the UDL griefing society keeps everyone in a constant state of fear and/or retribution. Last time I logged on, FE was baned and the bursar was destroyed, along with many more buildings. Very sad sight. I had my doubts with SWG, which is why I agreed to take over the guild in the first place. But even with its flaws, SWG has so far surpassed my expectations and is so much more diverse than SB ever was. Simple personal observation so far ...... SWG:(Fun > Frustrations) SB:(Frustrations >> Fun) If anyone else wants to run the guild and maintain the city, please respond to this post or to me directly (mmorpg@consultimate.com) by end of Saturday July 5th or Vigilance will likely decay to ruins. There isn't much left to run, and maintenance on Vigilance is difficult to say the least. Q. So what about those of us still left on SB/Mourning?? .. I have had a discussion with Marjanne of All Father's Own guild to the ESE of us.. SSE of Quixotica, and they will likely absorb any remaining players from our guild. She has a real good farming location and subbed to the good-guy alliance with FE, LT, SW, etc. Also... I know Chris mentioned Sanguine Wild as another possible home for us. If that option is still open, SW has a good location too and can provide a good home for us. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the number of TVG members still playing SB can be counted on one hand. If true, I can't see keeping an entire city that doesn't get much vendor revenue and not near farming areas on our hands. I have had no trouble guilding all my other Alts. Guilds are now very desperate for recruits. People leaving out of sheer frustration and SWG has actually arrived and somewhat playable! So, I'm not too worried about the few that still remain in TVG, but wanted to lay out some possible directions, future guild homes, and even give someone else the opportunity to run a guild of their own (TVG) if they want to before its too late. Yours, Hakemal All good things must come to an end, but better things may rise from the ashes ..
Hothgorn TheBlack
I'm sorry you had to go through with being the leader of what was left of TVG lad. Here is my suggestion: Destroy it. Don't let it die slowly, and don't let the UDL gain access to the merchants and burser. The amount of work put into the guild can be rebuilt in Star Wars, and, the ties that we have is what makes the guild.....Not some virtual town, or tree in a crappy bug ridden game. Yes, understandibly all that work went to hell, and some are upset about it. In this case, I will have to say that we should move beyond this slight misdirection of a game. From what I recall, many of us were playing SB while waiting for Star Wars to come out. Lucky for us Star Wars came a little early, yes? For all those whom will still be playing SB, I'm sorry. It is not our habit to abandon anyone, but the constant frustrating circumstance have far outweighed the reason why we play such games. We play because it's fun. If it's not fun, why play? All I can ask of anyone that is left behind is to seek us out in other games, and keep in touch. Good people are hard to find. --Hothgorn TheBlack
Wolf
I tend to agree with Hoth in this case, if there are very few TVG folk still remaining in SB, taking on the task of maintaining the city would be somewhat exasperating. Raise it to the ground to avoid its slide into the hands of the enemy.
Zemach
I agree with what is being said here. I had quit a bit of fun in Shadowbane. But...the lag and bugs made it very frustrating for the last month or so. I don't think of it as a failure at all though. I met all of you through Shadowbane after all. I look forward to us all having even more fun making a home and building something great in the Star Wars world.
Martok
Hoth hit it right on the head. Hakem, just destroy the city. Don't feel like you have to try to keep it going. The majority of the guild has moved on to SWG. Come on with us!!!!
Chris
destroying the city is one option. however, you could also try selling it and regain some of the money that went into building it. As for the option for TVG to sub to LT (the current mega-alliance is temporary according to guild leaders) or just have the members join SW, I'm sure that option is still open. Baltazar
If it were me in your shoes I would give it to PoV. They have always shown that they are well deserving of what they have earned. They also have been somewhat helpful to us in the past. Plus they are one of the only guildsleft on the server who have proven that they have the power to overcome invasion.
