Macro questioney

Okees mr Macroman Bal.........

How bouts ya post a step by step list to help us non experienced macroers be able to set up our harvesting/surveying macro so we (that can) will be able to macro all night when sleeping or while at workey on our extra puter.

Colin-Mor is going to be a Artisian

Is there anything we need to have him become?

I am leaning toward Chef/Merchant profession for him.

Any word though how he can prepare to become a SHIPBUILDER but its not avail now.

Chef/Merchant are perfect. We have neither. I am working on Tailoring/Armorsmithing (Still need tons of hides btw). Zarbalt and Galanor are working on Weaponsmith. Sesh and Kimpek Droids. Jagleh and Kimpek Architect.

As to macroing.

1. Go under options ( I think ) and then keymapping at the bottom.

2. Modify the Chat Paste binding.

3. Alt Tab out of the game.

4. Click on start and go to run, type in notepad.

5. In notepad create a one line macro, something like:

/sample;/pause 400;/sit;/pause 150;/kneel;

6. Copy this (highlight and copy)

7. Go back into SWG

8. Paste this into your chat window using your in game paste command and click enter (we will run it once to make sure the macro fits your character).

9. Tweak the macro so once you are out of mind/stam you will sit and rest and then kneel for another sample when energy is back.

10. Alt Tab back out to notepad and modify the macro as needed and copy

11. Go back into SWG

12. Click Ctrl A to bring up your abilities panel

13. Click on macro

14. Create a new macro with whatever name and icon you wish

15. Paste the tweaked macro into the macro field at the bottom, over and over and over until you get something like

/sample;/pause 400;/si

16. Then just delete that last line to the previous kneel and click done/ok

17. Use your surveying tool to find what you are looking for then run the macro from your Ctrl A panel.

18. The only way to stop it is by logging out (/logout takes 30 seconds so I just /quit)

Edit: Another thing, anyone can take up artisan and macro. Just drop the skill later when you no longer need it. I have my smuggler (Bal) macroing away to provide materials for my artisan. Note that at night they usually kick everyone off the server for some reason. Happens between 1 and 3 am CST.
