Rumblebore
I would GREATLY appreciate all guild members KEEPING these items as you loot/find them. I will arrange to buy them from you. Please do NOT sell them. Get a price check from the vendor - I will match or exceed that. ALSO: Any Foragers who go into these dungeons - If opportunity arises - PLEASE Forage as much as possible. All these items are forageable as I understand it. Gargoyle Granite Sand Verbena Pondweed Goblin Bone Ice Lichen. These are used in SMITHING for Tannens, and apparently I can use these right now to advance in Smithing. The Trivial for combining into armor starts around 180+. Thank you. Nurlaten
The gargoyle granite is foraged in the MM ldon adventures, I've done 2 missions there and foraged 4 or 5 of them, so they aren't very common. They sell for around 50 to 100 pp now, but that price should drop as the newness wears off. I like MM because you can forage spider and spiderling silks and that sure beats farming them. MM is the only new dungeon I've been in, but I'm guessing each tannen material comes from a specific dungeon.
Lolanya1
You are correct, from what I've seen at least. Pondweed comes from Deepest Guk, Ice Lichen from Tak whatever in Everfrost, Sand Verbena from Rujakan (sp) Hills. These are from my experience, btw. Rumblebore
The prices have not dropped yet - in fact - they have gone up! It is common now that any one of these items are going for 300 a pop. The amounts can vary, but last night I saw many of these items - cheapest price was about 240, highest price as 1000. /RANT ON Verant finally provides a way for Smithing tradeskillers to CHEAPLY gain some skill points (all these items, once sold to a vendor for about 1 gold, can be bought back for about 5 gold) and people in game immediately jack the price up. Making a profit is FINE. Tradeskillers sell items off by a general rule - 2x your cost. If it costs 100pp to make it, then you would sell for 200pp max. But people in game forage these and buy these off merchants for a few gold and BOOM - 200-300 pp. What is worse, tradeskillers are BUYING them. GRRRRRRRRRRR What makes it worse is that I am right in that slot where the trivials for the armors are right now just above where my skill is at . Translation : If I could get these items for the Tempers, I would have a cheap means of gaining skill-ups to make me a more skilled smith. /RANT OFF So, while the price "should" drop, by the time it does I will be past needing them. *sigh* Bloody Profiteers
Nithas
One of the problems is a lot of these tradeskillers are just going after the PoP tradeskill ring quest. I think Lolyana (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) posted a link to thier stats. The ring is progressively more and more bad-arse. It's a perfect item for someone who has tier 3 or better access to channel thier resources on as most of the higher end gear is nodrop most of the time. So what do you do with all the cash that no longer means much to you? You do your tradeskills. Lotta cash sitting around translates into not much caring about cost of tradeskill items. That in return makes it a perfect oportunity for people to charge obscene prices for things easily attained. Example: Swirling shadows. Used in smithing shadowscream armor. Easily farmed in Shadeweaver's thicket at a rate of roughly a stack an hour. Sells for at least 40 PP in the bazaar, at a high of 150PP. I seen this, did some research on drops, and then spent 3 weeks at 1-2 hours a day before I went to bed farming them. The first week I sold them at 25 plat each and took note of who was buying them. People who were also selling them, at higher prices. The next time I went in, I mined the people selling low (40-100), and jacked my price up to 150pp as most people seen me selling a large quantity at an extremely low price comparitivly. I had 3-4 tells logged from normal tradeskillers asking me if I could sell to just them, at my old price. That was more then enough business for me to make 4 people very happy about not being jacked for over 25pp. The market flooded too because I made the mistake of telling a few former guildies how I was making 3k a day in the bazaar. In return you don't see the price as obscene as it used to be. So, I reiterate, it's mostly the people who are doing the tradeskills for an endgame item who are the problem with such obscene prices, they allow for the profiteering. Of course there are a few people who's class also allows them to make a large amount of cash in a short amount of time who also don't care as much about price. They don't help the situation either. Anything I get that you need Rumblebore you are welcome to at either no or very small cost. I have no reason to jack your hard earned plat from you, but the rest of the populace at large who is not a personal friend or Family (read Mystic Legions) is fair game as far as I'm concerned. Nurlaten
If people will buy them, the price will stay the same. 2 days ago I sold a dozen gargoyle granites for 120 plat a pop. That's a nice chunk of change for just hitting forage. The crazy thing is, I checked who was selling the granite later and the guy who had bought them from me was trying to sell them for 200 plat each. Oh well, poor tradeskillers, if you will pay for it, people will increase the price. The price will come down eventually, and even at 200 plat each it's easier than running the hollowshade moor wars to make steelscream armor.
