Yes, I have finally achieved my goal of Master Armorsmith! I will actually be able to leave my house now for more than harvester runs and missions to raise maintenance cash. I wish to thank everyone that's helped me along doing this, especially Siluial, Markham, Zandahl, Victor, Reafia, and Kimpek.

As I know you are all slavering for the news, I am putting below the requirements for Composite armor. I will be developing a standard ITC armor, which will lean toward being lighter so that everyone can wear it. One suit will be provided to each guild member that desires it and they shall be in guild colors. If you want a custom suit of armor, that'll have to be arranged.

Saw this online at Galaxies Stratics and thought you might want to know it right away.

Large quote:

OK, this one actually violates the policy of the forum a litle bit, since it's already coded, but it's not in the game yet, so it's not too late to adjust it. Sez the armorcrafting designer:

These all relate to the way components add special protections.

Special protections override the base effectiveness. This can be a problem when a component imparts a special protection on an armor with high general effectiveness because it could actually make things worse. For example if composite armor has a general effectiveness of 30 and a component adds a special energy protection of 10, the armor's protection for energy would drop down to 10. I've changed it so that instead, the armor would have an energy protection of 40. Because I've linked component special protections with general effectiveness, it also means that experimenting on general effectiveness will also increase any additive special protections.

While I was working on that, I also noticed that armor vulnerabilities weren't removed if special protections were added. So if I added an energy armor layer to an armor that was vulnerable to energy, it would impart the special protection but keep the vulnerability to energy. Because vulnerabilities override special protections, the protection is simply ignored. This isn't obvious from the examine window because it assumes that if the armor has a special protection to a damage type, it doesn't have a vulnerability. Therefore, it looks as if the vulnerability is being removed when it really is not.

OK, well we have the Beryllius Copper well under control - I will work the other Advanced Armor segment metals as they come up. Or would you prefer I handle the bulk instrusive ore since I can pull so much per shift? Well either way as always let me know what will help out and I will mine it for you.

p.s. Where were you when I was trying to find out who used Solid Petrochem Fuel lol.. a couple of shifts ago I had a 95+ spot for it and it was really, really high quality stuff - but no one seemed to want it. Now I know!

In order to make it as easy as possible, I'm hoping we can gather enough resources to allow me to make the pieces in the factory. This ensures we'll have standard suits. Below is the amount of resources per suit, how much we need to make 50 suits and how much I currently have

Intrusive Ore 515 25750 0

Known Solid Petro Fuel 515 25750 0

Nabooian Fiberplast 260 13000 33347

Aluminum 300 15000 29900

Beyrillius Copper 220 11000 24000

Wooly Hide 210 10500 0

Synthetic Cloth 9 450 ~50 (I can make enough to cover it.)

Reinforced Fiber Panel 9 450 0

Comp. Armor Segments 21 1050 0

I already bounced around you yesterday. :) Since, aside from energy, I'm not a harvester, and my current scouting ability barely makes a blip on your radar for hides you need, in addition to what little I can do hides-wise, let me know if there's anything else you need.

(Get your mind out of the gutter, Victor, or pay rent.)
