Soke
Ok. The time has come for your Events Coordinator (me) to actually do something. FIRST. We have our In-Guild Raffle coming up. I have sent the rules out to everyone in game, and will post reminders as well. The date of this Raffle is the 2nd of January, at 8pm EST. The rules are as follows: 1.) Everyone will get a hundred sided die (if they can't make one themselves) 2.) The Events Coordinator will pull a 'ticket' randomly from a bowl, giving the item that is currently being raffled. 3.) If you want the item, you will get ONE roll on the hundred sided die. Highest roll wins the item. 3a.) The Events Coordinator will tell you when to roll, and when rolls are done. 3b.) Anyone rolling more than once is automatically disqualified for that item. 4.) In the event that ONE person is rolling for an item, the Events Coordinator will roll as well so that the item is not a "gimme". 4a.) The Events Coordinator also has a roll for herself, but MUST declare she is rolling for herself before she rolls 4b.) In the event she is the only one rolling, she will ask a member present to roll "against" her (see #4). 5.) After you have won an item, you may not roll for another item in that raffle. 6.) The Raffle ends when one of two conditions are met: --Everyone present has gotten an item --The entire item list has been gone through SECOND. I am going to very soon start the Gladitorial Games for ITC. What I need from you guys are suggestions. So far, it is tenatively set up as 3 or 4 different tournaments every month. 1.) Melee vs. Melee 2.) Ranged vs. Ranged 3.) Possible 4 man teams (last one standing wins) 4.) Pet Wars (object is to disable the pets, not the owners) I need suggestions on the following: 1.) Time and place 1a.) What DAY is good for everyone on average? I'm thinking Sundays. 1b.) What TIME is good for everyone on average? I'm thinking afternoonish. 1c.) Where should we hold it? (yes, I know Neo Rome, but where in Neo Rome) 2.) Suggestions of alternate tournaments 2a.) "Droid Wars"? 2b.) Special Ranged vs. Melee tournaments? 2c.) Buffed vs. Natural 3.) What should we charge for competing and what prizes should we hand out? 3a.) Prize be half of the entry fees? Possibly prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place...etc. 3b.) "Special" items? Such as good cloth tapes, or krayt stuff, force crystals, etc. 3c.) Free entry, and minimal prizes? 3d.) Keep it to "Gladiator of Neo Rome: January" and have a massive battle come the next year? 3e.) Rank sashes made by ONE tailor (so it's a speciality item) for the Gladiators who win? 3f.) Reminder for me or Cyva to talk to Hirad about making this a Neo Rome event as well, HOSTED by us. 4.) What "special" rules should there be? 4a.) No armor. 4b.) No healing. 4c.) No primary and/or secondary buffs 4d.) No standing on your head and calling me a wuss (just seeing if you're still reading) 5.) Anything else that isn't occurring to me at the moment. POST YOUR REPLIES HERE...or EMAIL Soke in game. VERY IMPORTANT! Please give this some consideration, as this is meant for YOUR entertainment, and to draw new people into our guild. THIRD. What other events would you like to see? I have some ideas...but I want to keep things fresh and new and BUSY....yet SIMPLE. 1.) Scavenger hunts? 2.) Variation on talent shows and/or best or worst dressed peoples? 3.) Races? (vehicle vs. mount, vehicle only, mount only) Please please please put some thought into this. And keep in mind that I WILL need your help to run some of these events. So, also, please try to make yourself available about once a month to be a judge or a waypoint marker for races...or whatever is necessary. I believe I can do the tournaments alone, so everyone else will be able to partcipate, but the races I am thinking of definitely need at least a couple other people as well as talent shows or whatnot. Soke
Thanks, Sy. I am a bit late getting our gladitorial thing up, but I've recently revamped it in my head, so I'm figuring out how it'll work. If not this next week, then the week after...but it WILL be in January. Soke
Ok, then how about this... This is what I've worked up so far. I've procrastinated too much, so it won't be this week, so aiming to next week...probably Sunday, 4pm EST (afternoonish...seems most people are "free" to play). Ranged vs. Ranged first. 1) NO Heavy Weapons (LLC's, flamethrowers, grenades, etc.) 2) NO melee weapons (just pure rifles/carbines/pistols) 3) 2 pieces of armor allowed, not including PSGs 4) NO healing DURING your match (you can heal your wounds/damage outside of it) 5) NO primary buffs (secondary buffs ok...and we can't track that anyway, not logistically) 6) NO Deathblow (Fight to Incap, in other words) 7) Feign Death = Automatic Elimination I'm thinking a double elimination. Ie, say we get ten people competing. I pull names out randomly. Player X and Player Y duel. Y loses. Y has one strike against him...he loses his second duel and he's out. Go on until everyone's fought, rinse and repeat. I was originally thinking single elimination tourney style, but this will be more "fair" to everyone, I think, and will be ok if we get an odd number (13, 7, 65, however many). Entry fee will be 1K to 5K, with half the entrance fees going to the winner, and one fourth to second place. 3rd and 4th place get their fees returned to them (maybe, still deciding). Rest goes into ITC's "Events Funds" to fuel more events, buy prizes, whatever. Alternatively, could go single elimination also. Maybe say, Double Elimination up until 10 to 16 people, and single elimination with more contestants (thinking of time issues here). After Ranged vs. Ranged will be Melee vs. Melee (and that should take care of January). After January is done, I will do this probably every week with Ranged vs. Ranged, Melee vs. Melee, 2-4 man teams (single elimination, different set of rules) and one "other", which the "other" can be EvE....one huge fight, pet wars, droid wars, or any other silly thing I can think of. Let me know on what you think NOW before I post on this and make it official. Because after I set this up, it will more than likely NOT be changed, so speak up now (before Sat. or Sun.) if you don't like this set up or if you have suggestions. I have had only THREE people gives me suggestions so far, overall. That's it. Right now I'm looking at the 18th and the 25th for two gladitorial events 4pm EST/9 pm GMT.
