Syban
Follow up info... Hey folks... we have got some great news! Wanna help us test Publish 10? We want you to help us test publish 10! So here is what we got: 1) Build your character. Log in to TC2. Create a new character. Immediately go to another starport when you land - it is pretty lagged in Mos E right now. At the Starports of most major cities, you will see large blue-frog terminals. These are our new Character Builder Terminals. These will let you build basically any template you wish. And get money. And resources. And armor. And weapons. And buffs. And vehicles. You get the idea. 2) Help us test. Tonight, we will be testing the Arrival of the Old Man. On Test Center 2, Everyone that logs in AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFIES for a visit from the Old Man!! Build your characters, and just go out and play. Somewhere in the wilderness, in some random time span, the Old Man will visit you. We need to know how far you can get in the quests, and what is stopping you. Play with it - there may be some workarounds, but we really want to know what is gating you. 3) Give us suggestions on this process. What could we do to make it easier to test/ more productive for you? You are doing us a great service by helping us shake the bugs out. We want to make it as fun and easy, so that you want to test and are able to give us feedback. 4) Git out there! Don't try to build your whole character at the starting starport! These things are all over the galaxy. Don't hang around the terminals... they are laggy! Go out in the wilderness and run around. The old man will NOT visit you in any city - player or regular. Help us make this the smoothest, best, most polished launch ever. Any bugs you find, any suggestions you have, please report them in this thread. Thanks so much!! - g I know I'm going to give it a try...

Syban
... today was a benchmark in SWG testing history: TC2 reached a population of 2200, several times our previous max. approximately 1/2 of those people were on Dathomir o.O If you were there, you know that testing was not possible because of the lag. Here is how we are going to mitigate this for the next couple of days: 1) We are going to cap the server population at 1000. This has already been done. 2) We are going to reconfigure the server processes around Dathomir to handle the increased load. 3) We are going to bounce the cluster (and change the Village Phase) 3 times/ day. When this goes live the phases will change approximately every 3 weeks. We will most likely wipe everything on Monday and start over. If you have suggestions or comments about the testing process, please use this thread. If you have bugs, please report them here: Official Forums thread here. Thanks! - g
