Syban
May be a helpful guide to those who seek the mysteries of the Force. Guide Author: Tandy Starting Location: N/A Faction Requirement: None Overview: Before you can start your Padawan trials you must first become a Jedi Initiate. The path is not for the impatient sort, but for many, the reward at the end is worth the wait. Walkthrough: The first step on the path to becoming a Jedi Initiate is to become Force Sensitive (FS). You cannot begin learning FS skills until you feel an inner glow. You can check your progress on this path by typing /checkforce in your chat bar. There are six stages that your character progresses through: 1 - You feel no connection with the Force. 2 - You barely notice something different about yourself. 3 - You feel a faint sense of the Force. 4 - You have a strong sense of the Force within you. 5 - You feel the Force surge within you. 6 - You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you. You have to achieve stage six to become fully Force Sensitive and continue on the path. In order to become Force Sensitive (FS), you have to complete certain badges. After that you will be visited by the Old Man, who will give you a Sith mission. When you have completed that, you will be allowed into the village of Aurilia to begin your FS training quests. Required badges : 1 - A profession badge (while the profession doesn't matter, if you intend to fully pursue Jedi, you need a fighting skill) 2 - Five content badges (these 5 are a proven combination) Rebel or Imperial Themepark Jabba's Themepark Nym's Themepark Warren Compassion Badge Warren Imperial Hero Badge 3 - Ten POI Badges (2 must be Difficult POIs, 3 must be Jedi POIs, and 5 may be Easy POIs) Difficult - Dathomir - Lesser Sarlacc Difficult - Tatooine - Krayt Graveyard, Krayt Skeleton, Sarlacc Pit, Tusken Fort Pool Jedi - Dantooine - Jedi Temple Jedi - Tatooine - Ben Kenobi's Hut Jedi - Yavin - Temple of Exar K'un Easy - All other POI badges are considered easy The Old Man Once you have completed the above badges, you will be "glowie" and will be ready for the next step, which is to be visited by The Old Man. Although his pattern varies somewhat, it generally takes at least one reset after achieving glowie status before he visits. He will not visit you in an NPC city and he's unlikely to visit you if you're engaged in combat. He appears to like Player Cities. Curb your impatience and spend your time shopping in Player Cities, lounging on your guild hall steps, or standing in the middle of a Player City chatting or observing the scenery. He comes quickest to those who are engaged in peaceful activities. When he visits you he will give you a Force Crystal and ask you to keep it safe. This crystal is actually a journal of your FS activities. It will give you directions on what task you need to complete. The Sith The final step to gain entrance to Aurilia, is to complete the Sith investigation that your Force Crystal lists. You will be attacked by two Sith Shadows. This attack will usually take place about twenty-four hours after your visit from the Old Man. The attack can occur anywhere. The Siths are not difficult if you have fighting skills. Loot them once they're dead. One of them will drop a data disk. Use that disk and you will be given a waypoint to the Sith camp. Go there and kill the three or four Sith Shadows who are standing around. Loot them and you will be given the waypoint to Aurilia. Aurilia The village of Aurilia is on Dathomir. The Science Outpost is the nearest starport. The trip between the two is about 6K, and there are generally hoardes of angry NPCs and creatures along the way. There are two entrances to the village, pretty much directly opposite each other. Rohak, the village elder, stands in the center of the village. He will tell you how you might aid the village. Paemos stands not too far from Rohak. He is the villager who will give you any free branch unlocks you might have earned, and convert your regular xp to force sensitve xp (see below if you feel you might have free unlocks). Noldan stands in a fenced area, just to the left of one of the entrances. He is the village trainer. When you have converted enough regular xp to force sensitive xp to train, he's the man to see. The quest givers within the village are: Combat Prowess: Captain Sarguillo Crafting Mastery: Quharek Enhanced Reflexes: Whip Heightened Senses: Silvarra and Alpoka Force Sensitive Trees and Branches There are four force sensitve trees. Each one has four branches, and each branch has four skill boxes. To unlock any branch you must first train the Novice box in that tree, which costs 50,000 force sensitve xp. The Novice boxes cost no skill points, but each box within a tree costs one skill point apiece. If you wish to become a Jedi, you must complete six entire branches, which will take 24 skill points. The force sensitve trees and their branches are: Combat Prowess: Ranged Accuracy (+12 to ranged accuracy) Ranged Speed (+ 12 to ranged speed) Melee Accuracy (+ 12 to melee accuracy) Melee Speed (+ 12 to melee speed) Crafting Master: Experimentation (+ 20 to experimentation; does not give 2 extra experimental pts) Repair (+ 20 to repair) Assembly (+ 20 to assembly) Technique (+ 4 technique) Enhanced Reflexes: Ranged Defense (+20 to ranged defense) Melee Defense (+20 to melee defense) Vehicular Control (+20 to vehicle control; ground vehicles only) Survival (+5 to camping, foraging, mask scent, creature harvesting, creature knowledge, trapping, terrain negotiation) Heightened Senses: Healing (+20 to injury treatment speed, wound healing (dancing), wound healing (music) Surveying (+20 surveying) Persuasion (+20 persuasion) Luck (+ 4 luck) Each branch is unlocked by completing the quest associated with that branch. You may only do one quest per phase, and once you accept the quest, you may not delete it and choose another. If you decide you don't want to complete the quest, you will have to wait for the next phase to obtain another quest. You must complete the quests before the next phase begins or you fail the quest and will have to wait until it is available again, to restart. You do not have to train the boxes in the branch you unlock within any specified period of time. You can take as long as you like to finish them, once you have unlocked the branch. Village Phases Aurilia cycles through four phases, with each one lasting about three weeks. One quest from each of the four different force trees is available each phase. The rotation of phases is: Phase One Combat Mastery: Ranged Accuracy Crafting Mastery: Assembly Enhanced Reflexs: Survival Heightened Senses: Persuasion Phase Two Combat Mastery: Melee Speed Crafting Mastery: Techniques Enhanced Reflexs: Vehicular Control Heightened Senses: Survey Phase Three Combat Mastery: Melee Accuracy Crafting Mastery: Experimentation Enhanced Reflexs: Ranged Defense Heightened Senses: Luck Phase Four Combat Mastery: Ranged Speed Crafting Mastery: Repair Enhanced Reflexs: Melee Defense Heightened Senses: Healing Plan your choices carefully to minimize the amount of time it will take you to unlock six branches. With no free unlocks and good planning it will take 18 weeks to unlock six branches. Free Unlocks If you completed at least three holocron professions, you are entitled to a free branch unlock. You get an additional unlock for the fourth holocron profession and for each of the four silent professions that you needed for your character. If you used holocrons or you completed a great many professions without using holocrons, talk to Paemos before you accept any quests. On his chat menu, the fifth choice will tell you if you get any free unlocks. If he offers any choice, choose wisely. Accept the first skill of your choice, go immediately to Noldan, and get training in all four boxes for that branch. Return to Paemos to see if you get any more free unlocks. Train each branch before asking for the next unlock. If you accept two unlocks without training the first, you lose all of the force sensitive xp that comes with the free unlock. The question has been asked many times as to whether you can still earn free unlocks by mastering more professions or using holocrons. The answer is no. Only those people who mastered professions prior to Publish 10, or used Holocrons prior to Publish 9, get free unlocks. Holocrons do have uses for Jedi, but they can no longer be used to gain free branch unlocks. Converting XP FS xp is gained by converting regular xp. Each type of xp you gain is applicable to one of the FS trees. The chart below shows the ration of regular xp to FS xp. Crafting XP Architect xp 35:1 BioEngineer xp 4:1 General Crafting xp 8:1 Medicine Crafting xp 5:1 Spice Crafting xp 5:1 All Other Crafting xp 5:1 Combat and Reflexes XP Bounty hunter xp 1:1 Combat xp 3:1 Squad Leader xp 90:1 Weapons xp 30:1 Senses XP Creature Handling xp 9:1 Dancing xp 10:1 DNA Sampling xp 3:1 Entertainer Healing xp 10:1 Image Design xp 7:1 Medical XP 10:1 Merchant XP 4:1 Musician xp 10:1 Politician xp: 3:1 Scout xp 8:1 Slicing xp 3:1 Surveying xp 10:1 Survival xp 5:1 Trapping xp 25:1 Exit Quest Once you have completed 6 branches, you are ready for the village exit quest. Go about your business as usual and wait for the Old Man to visit you again. When he does, he will give you a datapad that has a waypoint to a camp run by a powerful Sith named Mellichae. This is not a quest to do alone. Mellichae wields a light saber, is 80% resistant to anything but lightsabre damage, has 55K HAM, and has a good friend named Daxter who defends him. Daxter has 25K HAM and is also 80% resistant to all damage types except lightsabre. The two of them are accompanied by a group of 8-10 lower level Siths, as well as four force crystals. One of the crystals heals Mellichae of any damage he takes. A party of elites and a few Jedi friends will be quite helpful. Once Mellichae has been killed, you will receive another waypoint. This is to a Jedi shrine. Go there to meditate. When you are done, you will be ready to start your padawan trials. May the force be with you. Momento
Just a thought here... a way that this write up differs from the others I have seen in other PA's. I have noticed that you do not have the names of who hands out what mission on what phase on there. For example, which of the npc's starts melee speed on phase 2 or which does persuasion on phase one. When suggesting that one plan out their progression to minimize the time spent on this don't you suppose that information might have been a little bit... useful? Sorry, just a thought.
