Chris
from the UOSE website: "Creating a Guild A player may form a guild with any unguilded character by clicking the Guild button on the paperdoll. This will open the Guild Creation page, where you will be prompted to enter a name for your guild, along with a 4 letter abbreviation for your guild. You will be charged 25,000 gold pieces to create a guild." As you can see, keeping our 4 letter abbreviation will no longer be a problem. Balandar
Yay! But there goes our uniqueness of 4 letter abbr. Do they have guild allies for the new guild stones?
Chris
Alliance system IS going in, but from what I can tell stones are ancient history.
Earwen
Heres some info from the official website WARS AND ALLIANCES Wars Wars are formalized hostile relationships between guilds, which allow open combat between the guilds involved in the war. Both sides must agree to the war declaration in order for a state of war to be declared. Click for more details. Alliances Alliances are formal protective relationships between guilds, and are managed by the guild designated as the Alliance Leader. Guilds can not have any wars declared when joining an alliance and a guild may only belong to one alliance at a time. Alliances share all wars declared by their Alliance Leader, and only the Alliance leader can declare war or surrender. Other guilds wishing to declare war on any guild in an Alliance must declare war on the Alliance Leader directly. If the Alliance Leader accepts the declaration of war, this will result in a war with the entire Alliance. Allies will highlight the same color as members of your own guild (a light green color by default). Breaking Alliances A guild can remove itself from an alliance at any time; however the guild breaking away will not retain any wars that were declared on the alliance. If the Alliance Leader leaves the alliance, a random guild in the alliance becomes the new leader. Only the Alliance Leader can remove other guilds from the Alliance. Balandar
Oh wow. That's pretty cool. So even if you did not wish to war anyone, you could still have an alliance so others highlight green to you. Lots of possibilities there. You could just ally with everyone you want to war with and not have to worry about penalties for resurrection. Example: You could ally with the skullcrusher orc clan (our guild stone btw), and have internal chaos and battles without the negatives that come along with wars. Lord Ser Brightblade
I believe they are leaving stones in the game despite all the changes.
Chris
If guildstones are left in the game they will serve no purpose. All guild information/actions will be handled through an interface accessed through the Guild button on the paperdoll. http://guide.uo.com/miscellaneous_2.html

Chris
And guildstones can be redeeded, and can still be sold back to npc merchants, but guildstone deeds can't be bought anymore, so there's a new rare on the block
