Chris
click here to vote on my idea! Under the current system the way people set up "lottery vendors" makes it too easy to scam customers. There is no way of knowing if the prize has been won yet or even if there ever was one. I propose that a new deed be made available similar to barkeep contracts. This deed would be for a Lottery Vendor NPC that will sell chances to win items that are placed in its inventory by the owner. The owner would be able to set the total number of "tickets" available as well as the price of each ticket. Upon purchasing a winning ticket, a prize selected at random from the NPC's inventory would be deposited in the winning character's pack (or bank box if it is too heavy for them to carry). The remaining prizes and number of remaining tickets would be viewable at all times by any player. Once all prizes are gone, the number of tickets would automatically be reset to 0 until more are added. This would prevent players from being able to gamble unless they actually have a chance at winning. There could be a special container (specially hued wooden box or small crate?) available from some merchant npc in the cities that is used to hold lottery prizes. All items placed in the same container would count as one prize. This would make it easy to make multi-item prizes and would also create another small gold sink that people would actually use.
