silver
to start, those who do not have Team Speak 2, can download it here: http://www.goteamspeak.com/downloads.php Also, for those who do not know what TS2 is, basically its a program where you use a microphone to talk instead of typing. The reason: if you are, for example being chased by a bigger ship ad you need help, typing it will take valuble time needed to avoid the enemy. TS2 will simply allow you to ask for help and give your position. Also VERY usful in battles. Ok, now for whoever will be running the TS2 channel. It will cost money. The cheapest I have found is £7 a month ($14 pm) holding upto 16 ppl ay http://www.teamhost.co.uk/index2.htm . OR, a one off payment of $30 (about £15) holding up to 25 ppl at https://sales.tritoncia.com/pricing.php The setup of the channel seems a bit difficult if you not used to it. you will get most help from the TS2 Admin. Most info on setting up your TS2 Channel here: http://clanservers.multiplay.co.uk/help/ts2_guide.htm and here: http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=13198 If you know someone who can set it up for you, that would be best

horatio-kennedy
i have talk to many people from toher ganes and other guilds say that they dream of having it. However the can never agree who pays what and when so.(1 guild split up in dissagreement with this at the root unbeilveable they were how only teenagers how ever.) The guilds who looked past that were mainly quite succesful. I only managed to get one price which is listed above so. I am all for it.

JamesMcPherson
Aye. Why don't we put out a bounty? I propose the guild comes up with $50 and gives it as a lump sum to whomever can set us up a 24/7 teamspeak server.

youreviltwin
Alright I haven't been posting a whole load and I am sorry for the discussion i missed but to make up for it I made a ventrilo chat server that is operational. As far as i can tell that is. I'm new to running the server and I apollogize for any errors i make in the process but here it goes. What you need for ventrilo. 1.The client the client can be downloaded at, http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php Pick from the list that says clients the server section is for files I need to run it and the dos programs used. 2. When you install it go to your destop/startup and run it set up your user name and such then once it is finished you will get to where it says "setup user" put in your ingame character name or your real name your choice. Then your description and other info. "This is not a big deal saying we all know each other or will know each other by the time tha beta starts." Phontic isn't important as faar as I can tell leave it blank. 3.Once you are done your next goal is to find the guild server. To be completely honest I dont know if the ip adress will always be the same saying if I reboot or crash or something tragic like that but this is what it is so far. 192.168.2.3 or for back up 127.0.0.1. Set the server name as "BWAI" "best guild ever" or anything it will stay forever you don't have to do this every time you login thats all there is to it have fun and i hope to see you there guys
silver
I downloaded that client, but couldnt connect. I put in my name, the server name BWAI and then BWIA. tried both of those IP addys, but nothing
JamesMcPherson
That's because 192.168.2.3 is an internal IP on his home network. 127.0.0.1 is a built-in localhost IP (or broadcast, can't remember). Evil, you'll need to consult your router's manual about opening the ports to the internal server. This is done through port-forwarding. This is to ensure that external traffic arrives at that machine for that purpose. You'll need to find the ports Ventrillo requires to be open. By default, the way to access most factory routers such as Netgear and Linksys is to open up a browser and go to address http://192.168.1.0, which is your network address. Then look for portforwarding and allow the traffic necessary to the IP of the vent server. I'd highly recommend you make the server's IP static, otherwise DHCP is going to inevitably give it a new IP some point down the road, and then all your settings and work will be for naught. youreviltwin
I can't get a static IP, Netgear gave me one but i need the DDNS server for it and i can't find it anywhere on there site.
silver
I think we will need to set up a TS2 server. Enterprise License - Single Server Use - 50 Slots $59.95 for permanant use. Now. if the officers chip in $10 a piece, we will have the money to get the account. But, I would assume most would feel uneasy about giveing out credit card details to other guild members. So, if there is a way to do this through Paypal, that would be best.
horatio-kennedy
however out of the two commanders who would recieve the money

JamesMcPherson
Well, first we need to make sure there aren't any better deals out there. But $60 for lifetime permanent use sounds pretty sweet. I'd chip in $10. Doesn't matter to me....either Miller or myself could do this. What do you think about this, Miller? silver
here are the 2 TS2 server Hosts that I hav found that do not mention a monthly payment. http://sales.tritoncia.com/pricing.php (this Host IS a one off payment http://www.instantgameserver.com/engine.php?page=view&c=6 (im not sure about thiis Hosts payment. It dosnt mention monthly or one off payments, so I have mailed them asking) Seeing that Miller can not add to the money pool, that leaves only James McPherson to deal with the money and TS2 server, sry, hehe. All you need to do id set up a paypal account to recieve our money.
Captain Henderson
This is a ONE-TIME license fee good for 1 year of free version updates as they are made available. After the 1 year period expires, you may continue using the existing version but will not be able to upgrade without a fee. Thats first i don't know if that means we only own it for a year but it sounds like that. I like the instant game server 36 slots for 20 isn't bad and we wont have that many people at beginning anyhow going up to 60 though isn"t a bad deal either. EDIT: also when you guys get a treasurer and an paypal guild account set up i'll get some money together and send it.
