Martok
We are nearing completion of the DDO guild items. Hopefully our DDO site will be up soon. Here is a taste... The draconic prophecy is not as mysterious as most believe. We of the ****** know its meaning and its purpose. The prophecy speaks that balance must be achieved between the forces of good and evil. In ages past, when one held sway over the other tremendous disasters occurred. The last Great War was one of these. Unless harmony is achieved more omens of disaster are sure to follow We are neither good nor evil. We simply are. The ****** are the most horrific butcherers of men and the most lawful priests alike. Our members range the entire spectrum, for good and evil is merely in the eye of the beholder. We are neither war-mongerers nor pacifists. We seek to teach others of the prophecy that has been unraveled thus far, and enforce its edicts. There is still much to be read of the prophecy, and with time we shall unravel it. **edited out guild name until the final decision is made
Lord Ser Brightblade
I want to stress from the beginning roleplay is not an option within this guild..... Its going to be a lot of fun and we already have some neat things planned. Game mechanics will dictate other things we would like to do and see happen as far as guild function Please if you are in the beta give me a shout or Martok a shout there are things we would love to know so that some guild rules can be layed down. Martok
The draconic prophecy has a "minor" role in the campaign setting of Eberron. We've expanded on the prophecy a little bit, in terms as to what we believe it is. Here is the prophecy, word for word as written: The dragons of Argonnessen study the world around them for signs and portents. They study the sky above, the pits and caverns below, and the land between, watching for anything that might suggest an omen. The dragons, long-lived and patient in all things, seek meaning in the patterns they see all around them. These patterns play out in the Prophecy, a record of things to come that has been emerging since the creation of the world. Many dragons spend a great deal of effort charting the movement of teh moons and stars, studying the patterns of teh Dragon Above, interpreting omens, and watching for signs and portents. The draconic Prophecy is as complex and unfathomable as the dragons themsleves. A few among the lesser races learn and study snippets of the huge and constantly accumulating text, but only the dragons have the time and perspective to see the Prophecy for what it truly is. There are few traditional texts containing parts of the Prophecy. instead, the dragons believe that the world itself is a living text that carries and reveals passages of the Prophecy to those who can see it. Passages appear througout the world, above, below, and between. Signs are revealed in the changing shape of the Ring of Siberys. Dragonsmarks appear on the sides of mountains or the walls of caves, though some of these can only be read when the moons and stars are in certain alignments, or through the application and proximity of certain dragonshards. Recently, at least as far as dragons are concerned, a new canvas for dragonmarks appeared in the world: the lesser races (as reckoned by the dragons), particularly humans and their closest kin, began to manifest dragonmarks about three thousand years ago. The appearance of dragonmarks on the lesser races has led to much debate among the dragons. For whatever reason, the Prophecy apparently has decided to reveal a portion of itself through the humans and their kin. As always, the dragons continue to watch and study, contemplate and discuss, as they seek meaning and understanding in the signs and portents all around them. What is the nature of the Prophecy that occupies so much of the dragons' time? There is, of course, plenty of room for conjecture and interpretation. Even among the dragons, different factions interpret the signs in different ways. The Prophecy hints at the events of doom and dread as often as it helps push the world toward exhalted events. It is generally believed that the Prophecy points toward transformation, not destruction. Beyond that, the Prophecy remains as alien as the dragons themselves. Balandar
Ahhh! I see. I'm used to A = A not |A| = A. My options: 1. Roleplay 2. Do not roleplay. "Roleplay is not an option in this guild" can be taken as "There is no roleplaying in this guild" or "Roleplaying is mandatory and not optional".
