  1. Collector's Edition Pets The special pets included with the Collector's Edition are the Panda Bear, Zergling, and Mini-Diablo. Players who have purchased the Collector's Edition will be able to obtain their special pet by submitting the gift voucher found in their character's inventory to a special NPC located in each starting area. Players will then be able to choose from one of the three special pets. http://worldofwarcraft.com/news/images/04-11/pets.jpg Collector's Edition 10-Day Guest Pass Players who will be accessing the game through the 10-day pass will create their account for that exactly the same way as a normal player, by visiting the account-creation webpage. Those who wish to continue playing the game once the 10-day free period is over must first visit their local retailer or online store to purchase a copy of World of Warcraft. Once they have obtained a copy of the game, they can log in to WorldofWarcraft.com using their 10-day pass login information and then enter the authentication key that came with boxed copy into the field found at the bottom of their account page. That's all that's required to activate a full-fledged World of Warcraft account once the 10-day free period has expired. Any characters that players have created during the 10-day trial, along with all their items, will be available for them to continue playing!
  2. Uglutz and I came up with a good color system. But we will need to try Dash's approach and see what it looks like in the game.
  3. You may never get to play with us then. There will be localized servers based on region. I do not know if Canada will be able to play on US servers. The only way I can think of around it, is to use someone’s physical address in the US, or have someone sign up here, and either 1, pay them. Or 2, have them enter your credit card and see if that works.
  4. No problem on the RP help. Plenty of people can help you with that. And a troll priest would be great!!
  5. So you would have it by Thursday... Open beta will most likely last until the 19th.
  6. 1. In the next patch, we plan to remove the durability loss on PvP death in the future. 2. Talent trainers have been removed from the game. In order to reset talents, you will need to talk to a class trainer. Each time you reset your talents, it will incur a cost which increases with each reset. by Tyren.

  8. Why are you going with localized servers? To provide the absolute best connectivity to our game servers, Blizzard has set up dedicated datacenters for World of Warcraft in multiple regions around the world. These local servers provide low-latency, high-speed access to ensure players have the best possible experience playing the game. In addition to providing local servers, Blizzard has established local teams, including game masters, community team members, and technical support staff, in each region in order to provide players with a high level of customer support in their native language. Because of these local teams, customers will be able to have their game-related concerns addressed promptly and efficiently by knowledgeable and helpful support representatives who understand local issues. All of these factors will contribute to providing players with the best possible gameplay experience when playing World of Warcraft on their regional servers. Conversely, playing the game on servers in distant regions would significantly detract from the quality of the player’s connection and customer-support experiences. This level of service is inconsistent with Blizzard’s quality standards for World of Warcraft and could result in negative gameplay experiences for players of a subscription-based game service. Nevertheless, we do recognize that players from different regions will want to play together. Unfortunately, because of the current realities regarding local billing requirements, privacy of information across international boundaries, and the aforementioned issues with connection quality between regions, we will be unable to offer cross-regional services at the time of the North America/Korea launch. However, for those players who still wish to play on servers outside of their region, we will look into providing a specific solution that addresses their concerns after launch. Are you aware how much this issue affects game choice for guilds? Yes; we've been working with guilds very closely since the beginning of the closed beta test because we appreciate how much they contribute to the game and to the community. One of our top priorities is to ensure that all players enjoy the complete game experience that World of Warcraft provides, and this is why we are strongly recommending that players connect to their local servers when World of Warcraft launches in their region. Regarding guilds specifically, connecting to servers in a non-local region would ultimately result in an adverse gameplay experience for the guild member connecting from overseas, and we feel that this would also negatively impact the members of the guild who are playing locally. What is the situation for those located in Asia? Will they be able to play on the US servers? While we have currently only announced our plans for launching World of Warcraft in Korea and China, we can confirm that like players in Europe, players in Korea and China will be able to play on local servers and enjoy native-language customer support at launch. For those who wish to play on servers outside of their region, we will look into providing a specific solution that addresses their concerns after launch. What servers will the Middle East and Australia utilize at launch? We're still examining options for the Middle East and Australia and will release more information for these regions as soon as possible. Will you be restricting North America based on region, also? As with Europe and Asia, North American players will be restricted to North American servers. Because there are two locations to service players in North America, we will recommend that players there connect to the North American server that is closest to their particular home region for the optimum online experience. I travel overseas for work/school/military purposes. Will I have problems playing the game? You should be able to travel and play the game from overseas provided you have an account in your home region. However, network connectivity at such distances is not under Blizzard’s control, and your play experience may vary as you travel, so we ask that you bear in mind that your connection and support experience will most likely not be optimal. If you're stationed overseas for an extended period of time, we recommend that you subscribe to World of Warcraft in the region closest to you. If I live in Europe or Asia and have preordered a US version of the game from an online retailer, will I be able to play the game when I receive it? Players who do not use a method of payment accepted in North America and who do not have a North American billing address will not be able to play on US servers. Therefore, we highly recommend that players in other regions instead preorder the game for their local region and purchase their World of Warcraft subscription when the game launches locally to them. Doing so will ensure that they have the best possible World of Warcraft gameplay and support experience available.
  9. You can now sign up for the World of Warcraft Open Beta at https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com. Follow the instructions to create your Open Beta account, then begin downloading from the link given at the end of the process (if you have not begun already). Please note that the servers are currently undergoing maintenance in small groups, so the server you wish to play on may not be immediately available. SoC is currently playing on server 10. Create your orcs, trolls, and tauren there!
  10. If the forums ever come back up, post what they posted here. I can't believe this BS. There is no way customers will stand for this. People play games in order to play with people that they are not close to. Edit: It seems to be region based. So everyone in US stays in US. Everyone in Europe stays in Europe. But they may have methods "later on". They should have methods from the START. I know we have some guildies not in the USA.
  11. Not sure. I know between us Elders, we will have a Warrior, Rogue, Shaman, Druid. We also have Fizit and Ugnush, Ugnush is a hunter. I don't remember what Fizit is (shaman). Play what you want to play and what you enjoy the most. I would not ask someone to play a priest if they hate playing that class. Edit: Fixed.
  12. Awesome, glad you could get into the open beta (I heard signups went quickly). Current members are: Uglutz, Glurg (me since my original stress test name was not deleted and therefore cannot use Grulg), Ugnush, Fizit, Zulzor. Click you "O" (Social) button and add us to your friends list.
  13. But make sure you let them know they cannot say "'mon".

    Rollcall!

Wayk Ub Orcs!! Edit: Playing as Glurg on Test Server 10.

  16. You need to create videos in WoW for us! Don't worry about hosting. Thehonorempire.net has 2 gigs of space and 80 GB transfer rate a month. So we can host a few movies for THE guilds without many problems.
  17. Sounds like a female orc =) I always find that those are the hardest names to create. As to the design, it doesn't really stand out to me. Kinda.. blah. I think it's the white/black combo. Dark greens may work too for guild colors. I want it to "feel" orcish. Monday will be the open beta signups. First come first serve. So you can get in and decide on what class you want to play. After playing a warlock, then playing a warrior type, I defiantly have to say I am going to be a warrior. I just enjoy running up and bashing everything. hehe. I was playing a Dwarf Paladin last night and ended up being in a group that was me (Tryck), and 3 gnome mages. We killed everything in our way. That was my frist true grouping experience. Soooo much more fun than soloing. Paladins are not going to be the easiest the kill. They have some powerful auras that effect all in their groups. As orcs, Paladins are a very insult to our wonderful evil nature. They must be destroyed!!
  18. Racial traits for all races will become available with the upcoming patch. Each race receives at least four traits, including several passive traits and an active ability. 19. There is but one creature in all of Kalimdor that possesses the strength and stamina to bear a tauren rider into battle: the majestic kodo beast. Tauren players will lose the plainsrunning ability, but will now be able to ride kodo mounts. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/screenshots...unts/ss0006.jpg There is but one creature in all of Kalimdor that possesses the strength and stamina to bear a tauren rider into battle: the majestic kodo beast. Swifter and slightly smaller than their wild cousins, kodo mounts nevertheless demonstrate the same resilience and fearlessness found in their untamed brethren, traits that serve them well when bearing their equally resolute riders. It is said that only the most virtuous of taurens can win the affection of a kodo war mount, for these mighty beasts only serve those that approach them with honor and respect in their hearts.
  20. By the time you get back, it'll be open beta season.
  21. I hope this doesn’t influence your desire to play an orc, and instead become a Troll. Welcome back!

  24. NVIDIA - the recommended graphics card technology for World of Warcraft - have provided us with a series of tips to maximize graphics on machines running their cards. Over the next few Insiders, we will explain these tweaks and how they can optimize the look of World of Warcraft and other games. NVIDIA Tech Tip #1 -- Sharper Textures in World of Warcraft Anisotropic Filtering is an advanced texture-filtering technique that improves image quality for textures that extend from the foreground deep into the background. For example, roads, walls, floors and terrain that extend into the distance will look better with anisotropic filtering. Here's how to set your graphics card for sharper textures in World of Warcraft: 1) Enter the Main Menu by pressing the ESC-key and then left-mouse-click on the "Video Options" tab. 2) Within the video options, there is a slider named "Anisotropic Filtering". 3) Move this slider from left to right to increase the sharpness of the textures. If you own a GeForce 6800, you should maximize this setting as there will be little to no impact on the framerate of your system. Anisotropic filtering can impact the graphics performance of graphics cards older than the 6800--particularly if the screen is set to a high resolution. So if you have a card older than the 6800, it will be a trial and error process to decide the maximum trade-off between sharp textures and framerate.
