As I said before, during the first stages of beta you must sign an NDA. In order for the contract to be legal, you must be 18. The open beta test allows anyone in. I have never heard of a MMORPG starting out with an open beta, there will be one, but it is highly unlikely they will start with open.

Nothing will happen. This is beta. I can tell you that you will not even be able to get in the first stages of beta. You must be at least 18 to sign the NDA. The rest of us will be lucky if we are randomly chosen. There will be a limit on the number of people in the first stage of beta. However, you will be able to get into the OPEN beta, it allows everyone in. That is the last stage of beta.

Answers to some of the questions scattered throughout the forums: Will WoW be playable on a Mac and are people currently testing it on Macs? Yes, to both. The game will be available on a Mac and there are people currently playing on Macs. Minimum specifications have not yet been determined. Will the druid be able to avoid obstacles like mountains when morphed into “flying” models? This was a considered option but the design team decided it would be too powerful of an ability. EBWorld has a release date of 06/14/04, is this accurate? We’re not sure where they got that date from as no date has been set for WoW’s release. Will there be items available to allows characters (other then Undead) to breath underwater for durations to exceed 90 seconds? Yes, including but not limited to: Items found and/or quested for, crafted items, potions and class based spells. When a warrior fights will he just stand there swinging a sword or will he have combat moves? There are currently six to eight combat moves per stance with multiple stances available for warriors. Will WoW be the end of the War Craft series? Now why would we end War Craft? Will all characters be able to use all weapons? No. Will there be a monthly fee to play WoW? Height/Weight is unlikely to be changeable due to how it affects character animations and items on the character. Also if you change height and weight then the distinction between an orc and a human becomes much less when they are both wearing similar armor. The combination of wanting distinct animations and not wanting the animations to look wonky because they were being used on a model they were not quite meant for, made us decide to not allow changing of height/weight at this time. Will WoW be colorblind friendly? Yes, several members of the development team are color blind so this has been taken into consideration. Make Horde females look better! Some of the female horde art is being reworked, but don’t expect to see “gorgeous” trolls running around. Will horde and alliance characters have the ability to gain faction points thus allowing them to utilize each other’s cities? That’s currently not the plan. Yeah, been a long time. Doubt that any of us will get in it, at least the first stages. About all we can do is wait till open beta. Oh, btw, in order to sign the NDA you have to be >= 18.

Taurens have been in the guild since day 2 or 3. We have around 200 members in The Honor Empire and not all wished to play Orcs (those wanting to play WoW). There are also limitations with orc classes.

1. Not unless WoW dies. 2. No 3. Not really. If they make UXO anything like the current UO... I'll play for a few months like EQ/DAoC/SB/SWG and then quit. 4. Unless they pull off a really good job, many more years for UO. 5. Sign up for the news letter, they are going to send an email about beta sign ups.

Katricia posted the following on the WoW forums. As many of you know, we are currently conducting an internal Alpha test for World of Warcraft. Our goal for this Alpha test is to provide the best possible experience for players when the Beta launches in early 2004. In order to accelerate the testing process, we recently allowed a small group of external testers to play the game. During this process, a collection of files was leaked to the Internet. While these files contain alpha content from the game, they are not fully playable and therefore do not convey the experience that World of Warcraft will provide when it is released. It still sounds and reads human but has the feel of orc about it. Example, your "smater" should be something like the following: smartur or smardur. When you say with, does it sound like wit? Or more like wif? Wif is more orcish in appearance. Also, not hoomie, we are not from the hood. Use humie or oomie.
