  16. So! Raeda wants a guide to the troll sanctuary, eh? Well, guide she will get! Them damn trolls been buggin us too long, and we've been doing our best over the past few months to thin their numbers! Here is what we have learned along the way... --- Baracko's ZG Raid Guide --- *Read at yer own Peril!* Trash Mobs Trash mobs in here are pretty straight forward! They come in altering combinations of snakes, trolls, and berserkers with the occasional priest and blood-drinker thrown in for good measure. A good rule of thumb is to sheep the nastiest of the bunch first if you are dealing with a small group. Adders can poison large numbers quickly, so be prepared to depoison with whatever means you have at yer disposal. Axe-throwers can do a spin that can wipe out clothies quick - get out of range if they start breakdancin, and use an interrupt to break their mojo. Priests should always be sheeped first, as their fears can run you headlong into other groups. Berserkers have the same ability, and should always be pulled singley if possible and burnt down fast. Blooddrinkers are the worst of the bunch, and will heal easily if they are too close to the group. They should be tanked away from the group and ranged dps'ed till dead. Honestly, the easiet way to deal with these is to listen to the raid leader or follow an experienced group's lead. The trash pulls are uncomplicated and can be done swiftly with experience people. Jek'lik The approach to Jeklik can be difficult. Her lair is guarded by roving groups of Batriders and their winged minions. Groups of bats should be handled one at a time by seperating the riders from the smaller bats, and burning the small bats down first. Once this is accomplished, focus yer fire on a single tanked rider until each is down in turn. Be wary of the rider's defeat! As they get close to death, they will often summon an innate ability to explode, doing serious damage to any closeby. Small groups of priests and axe-throwers are interspersed there as well, and should be handled as previously discussed. Once all mobs are cleared, Jek'lik waits for you atop the wall. Through previous battles with her, we have found a sure method of defeat. Begin by placing your Main Warrior by the wall, prepared to pull her down. With the tank's direction being North, place a shaman SE from the warrior on the grass clumps to drop totems and provide a charge target. Rogues should be stealthed around the warrior, awaiting the dps call. All remaining battlers should be North of the tree clump in the middle of the area, prepared to do ranged dps. Once your main warrior gets her attention, delay attacking until her armor has been sundered three times. She will random charge every 10-15 seconds (hopefully your nearby shaman) and do a sonic burst causing silence for 10 seconds - this constitutes the main reason why the caster corp should stay out of range. Through the first phase of this battle, bat groups will be summoned to aid Jek'lik. Pull them away from the main tank, and clump the together to allow area damage to be done. Once they are down, resume attackin Jek'lik. When half her strength is spent, Jek'lik will change back into her human form. She is a caster, so be prepared with interrupts - esp. if she heals. Shaman and Rogues should make sure that she doesnt. During this segment of the battle, Jek'lik will call bat bombers to drop flames on the group. Make sure to move out of the fire, and feel free to move Jek'liks position if she become surrounded by flames. The key to this fight is steady damage, good positioning, and solid interrupts. More to come...
  17. Ill be honest. Most of our problems Wednesday night were my fault. The healers did a great job, especially when we were trying to implement a new healing scheme, and Smeddy had the unfortunate task of being the MT with a rookie 40 man raid leader. V and Scryll did their best to catch things I was missing. Backstory: Originally, I was going to lead the raid this coming week, and use this week's run to get a better idea for the little things Maube does to help the raid along (ex: Knowing what needs targetted in a lava pack). Computer issues prevented that from happening, and we had to deal with it. I have a newfound respect for what Maube and Verissi do on a regular basis, now. Leading ZG is cake compated to this. You want to talk about information overload? MC has got you covered. You have 4-5 people whispering to you at any given time. You have targets to set and classes to evaluate for the best scenario. You have to monitor whats going on with the current fight while looking ahead to see what the next pull is and to make sure that you arent anywhere close to pulling something else during the fight (which I failed at). Couple that with being the master looter, being short on priests/mages/druids, and doing dkp manually. That plus trying to heal left me a little frazzled. Although Ive been in this raid almost since inception, leading and just going are two different things. I am not going to apologize for anything that happened Wednesday. Frankly, with all things considered, we did pretty damn good. We werent that far off the pace considering the wipe and near misses we had, and the vast majority of the loot went to someone instead of being DE'd, which is a major goal these days. We killed everything but the last boss on an off day with uneven numbers, which is no small feat. I learned a ton this week, and will not make the same mistakes twice. Moral of the story: Do not take your raid leaders for granted, especially the 40 man ones. I WILL do a better job of watching the raid as a whole next week, especially mana. WE WILL defeat Ragnaros next week, patch gods and CTraid gods willing. Sign up, and be prepared to keep the pace, or I will rip your skull off, drink the blood from your skull-cavity, digest it, and deposit whats left of the fluid in the PeeTub for Vrugz usage at the next Council of Honor.
  18. Im confused... what are you referring to, Oriah?
  19. ahhh... so thats the defining factor... no wonder I felt all whoozy last night... *Baracko's brain falls out on the table and walks out of the room in disgust*
  20. Sadly, Crik, all reports of the elementals ( AND I MEAN ALL! ) have labeled them completely useless. The shields are getting rave reviews, however, as is shamanistic rage. Judging by the numbers being slung, I think that we are in for a slight nerf, to be honest. I, for one, was often very frustrated as a shaman in PvP. I never felt that we were good for much other than flag running. I often read the boards, listened to other shaman' success, and said "What am I doing wrong?". The class cant be that bad, though... take a look at the fear that Zorrander brought to the alliance in our old pvp days. I cant think of a more effective shaman... especially against multiple foes. The truth is that PvP is kinda like chess: The person who deals first blood often has the advantage, and the support you have around you makes a big difference. Example: when fighting in the middle of WSG, put down your GoA totem and EB totem and see what the rogues do to the competition. Shaman are far from weak, we just dont play them the best way all the time.
  21. damn, as if Ten Storms wasnt darn near worthless before... Now, its in pastels *barfs*
