  1. This is the expansion with playable goblins and Town-in-a-Box. I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to take ANYTHING in it seriously.
  2. My understanding from news sources is that Zul'gurub is being transformed into a phased questing area. So yeah, if you don't have something from there, you'll want to get it.
Small parties led by paladins, deat' knights, agh sneekers am constantly harassin' places like Stonard ur Tarren Mill. Pushdogs slip out uf da forest uf Ashenvale ta hit da Crossroads almost ebery day. Larger raiding forces hab eben been making attacks on our cities, attacks which put T'rall, Sylvanas agh out ot'her leaderz at risk. Da spirits know. Sum hab been resistin' da pushdog Alliance though. 'eroes like Wolfhoof ur Melephis, agh Crushers like Ronstin, Bralor, agh da eldur Hoofstomper. Dey hab been fightin' in da long tradishuns uf da Clan, goin' back ta da First War agh befur. But der be ash dat eben da ancestors honor fer hims effurts. Da druid Druze! Himz been fightin' back da Alliance, many times by himzelf, fer close ta ash yeer! Him practically live in da Crossroads, runs like lightning down ta Freewind Post ur up ta Splintertree. Him iz alreddy on ash zeppelin by da time anyash else even heers ash hint uf truble at Grom'gol ur uf Alliance massin' in Silverpine. Him hab summoned storms ta blow da Alliance off da T'under Bluff times beyond count. War iz comin' but da Hordelands will be safe. Da spirits know
  4. I tried to express my interest in game! But it turned out it was just Katak trying out your characters, not you.
  5. I just saw this at WoW.com and it looked really neat. I particularly like how it identifies some trends in player-behavior, one example was expected and the other quite unexpected. http://www.wow.com/2010/08/19/guest-post-l...aphy/#continued

    Undying run

    It doesn't, thank GOD.
  7. Ok, this one is big. Real big. This has to be one of the biggest system changes they've ever announced, certainly the biggest change to Class systems. I frankly don't know how they're going to pull this one off. I took a quick look at some of the talent trees I'm most familiar with. Some of them can easily have their interesting elements squashed back down into a 31-point framework. Others, like Assassination for rogues, or feral for druids, look like they might be a bit dicier. And one of their examples of a passive, the current dual-wield talent in the rogue combat tree, actually has frightening implications, since that talent is taken in almost every single rogue build out there. Reducing the offhand penalty to damage is a LARGE part of any dual-wielder's damage from talents. On the active abilities front, Blizzard is starting out with some pretty interesting choices. Some are obvious, like Mutilate and Shadowstep for rogue assassination and subtlety specs, or Penance for Discipline priests. Others, like Thunderstorm for Elemental Shaman, or Water Elemental for Frost mages *Frost is now a pet class from level 10 on?* look. . . well, rather less obvious. At present, they indicate we will still be able to put points in multiple trees, but only eventually, you first have to reach the bottom of your "primary" tree first. We will see through further iterations if this means we can gain the passives and signature abilities from every spec by putting some of those later points into both of the others, or whether they will change things so that you can only put points in two. Or even reduce the number of talent points slightly and let us only take one talent tree, a true singular specialization.
  8. I can be a chatty one in forums, but. . . I'm not going to make posts under RealID. I did two quick google searches after I read the announcement, on my name and on Scryll. In both cases, I was most of the returns on the first page. I don't think I particularly want the two data-sets being linked.
  9. I'm interested in getting a Knightbane made for my druid Greenspring. I got all the mats together, but Kailand failed me by not being able to craft it. So did anyone else pick up the pattern?
  10. I far prefer . Old now, sure, but still one of my favorites. And the kodo does have that certain kind of charm

    Flame Orb

Yes! I've been saying for a year that mages NEED to get that flame orb spell we've been seeing in Wrath instances, and Blizzard intends to come through with it in Cataclysm. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to wait to roll my new mage.
  12. Damnit, they don't tell you what in-game pet it comes with!
  13. edit: This is not the post you're looking for. Move along.
  14. Depends on how your AV identifies threats. The software the person who got hacked used didn't pick up on it, it wasn't tagged as a threat in their files yet, and one bit of software that looks for suspicious actions didn't pick up on it either.
  15. Just a heads up (and do note you should still use an authenticator, it will make it far harder for someone to steal your account), there is at least one active trojan facilitating Man-in-the-Middle attacks designed to get around an authenticator. Apparently operates from an emcor.dll file it drops on your system. WoW-Europe
  16. Whoah, did I say I would heal in that PM? That was either a mistake, or a willingness to switch if things were desperate. I said I'd like to come on Scryll, or I could come on Greenspring if you needed him, but I was thinking there of moonkin buffs and ranged dps, not healing. He has decent healing gear and a resto dual-spec, but I'm not very comfortable pushing what is, for me, a new encounter while in a role I don't use very often.
  17. Uki, but Ug iz also confuzed frum many yeers uf stinkweed abuse.
  18. The first thing that comes to mind is "Excuse me, I need to pour bleach into my eyes."
  19. Ho ho ho! Merry Winter Veil. Me hope lat all enjoyed da gifts Greatfather Winter found fer lat last yeer. Dis yeer we be going ta have ash tradishunal Clan gathering, wit' presents, snowballs, agh mur. Me hab set mah honor guards ta decorating ash suitable locashun. Where: Un'goro Crater, J.D.'s cave in Marshal's Refuge When: Sunday December 27th, 8pm server time. Who: All in the Clan, and invited friends. Events: 1. Snowball fight: As we do every Winterveil, since we can't help but attack each other mercilessly, we will be opening with a string of mericless snowball fights, including at least one semi-organized team slaughter! 2. Secret Santa: The traditional gift exchange, but with a twist. Rather than assignments, this time we're going to try what is known as a Yankee Swap, or Chinese Auction. Gifts are pooled, we select from them in order, and rather than take a gift from the pool, you can take an opened gift from someone else, and have them get a new one from the pool. No gift can be yanked more than three times. This should be more fun and interactive, not to mention less of a strain on poor Greatfather Winter's postage budget. 3. Robot Rallies: Every year, Greatfather Winter gives us some new destructible toy. So we're going to let them duke it out in some mass battles. Prizes will be rewarded for the last robots left standing. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange or the robot rallies, please contact me by PM, in-game mail, or whisper. Preferably the first two since my record-keeping gets way better with electronic copies I can't lose. If you want someone outside the guild invited, I can add them to the calendar item manually if desired.
  20. Real raiders recognize holidays are another raid. Resetting the conversation with your mother by asking for her help in the kitchen, beating your drunken uncle's seven-minute enrage timer, keeping the spawn from running all over the place uncontrolled, it's a raid.
  21. And Blizzard finally chooses to cut out the middle-man from the TCG sales. And Blizzard can go suck an exhaust pipe for advertising the Pandaren Monk as a charity pet and putting an expiration date on the Make-A-Wish split but not the opportunity to buy the pet.
  22. It said I was a paladin too. Test is plainly funky. I took the WoW traveller quiz too and got 94%, and the only reason I was that low is because the test-maker is insisting on a wrong answer for the number of cities with harbors. As near as I can tell they're discounting Stormwind Harbor *which would actually make sense as it was apparently made before the BC patch introducing harbor construction* AND the one at the base of Teldrassil *presumably they're not counting that section as part of the city of Darnassus and thus it's a harbor without a city*. That or they're not counting Steamwheedle Port as a city, and if they're discounting one, they should be discounting the other, so their count would STILL not make sense.
  23. Ooh, Scryll has a pony keg, finally.
  24. Smed and I have sent out invites using the in-game Calendar system. If you're planning to attend the event, please accept the invitation on the character(s) you intend to bring. If you did not receive an invite to the event via the Calendar and intended to come, please let either Smedlock or myself know.
