Hey Everyone, Just posting a small reminder that even though the raid was canceled last week due to patching, we're back on this week. I've sent a mail to all the raid members, please make sure you let me know that you're still coming. Thanks, Cal
-
To those who missed the raid, Don't feel bad, seems like a lot people weren't expecting the server to be up. The raid ultimately got canceled, we'll simply try again next Wednesday.
-
Yup looks like our server is up. There is some lag, likely due to the swarm of people logging on. For those of you participating in Gruul, I'm going to call it as I see it. If there is insufficient people to make the raid by 7:15 then I'll simply cancel it. If not then we'll be clompin' Gruul and his cronies.
-
I took a picture this week, just for the hell of it:

You lose the amount of points you bid. For example: Bob has 40 Raid Points Joe has 60 Raid Points Moe has 50 Raid Points They all secretly bid on the same item: Bob bids 10 Raid Points Joe bids 5 Raid Points Moe bids 45 Raid Points Moe wins the item which has cost him 45 of his Raid Points.

Gruul and Magtheridon Raid Information Day and Time Wednesdays 7:00pm to 10:00pm Server Time Looting The looting system is based on attendance. BoP Items and Tier Item Tokens will be using 2 different point systems. BoP Items: Each player is attributed 5 Raid Points each time they show up on time to the raid and participate for the entire duration of the raid. Raid Points will be attributed at the END of each raid. When a BoP item is dropped, players may bid for that item using their Raid Points by whispering to the raid leader. If there is a tie, it is broken using a dice roll. All bids are kept confidential and the item is attributed to the highest bidder. Tier Item Tokens: Each player is attributed 1 Attendance Mark each they show up on time to the raid and participate for the entire duration of the raid. Attendance Marks will be attributed at the END of each raid. When a Tier Item Token is dropped it is given to the player of the appropriate class who has the most Attendance Marks. If there is a tie, it is broken using a dice roll. Once a player has obtained a Tier Token Item their attendance marks are reset to 0. Attendance Consistency and reliability is the key to succeeding in any raid. The raid roster is not based on sign-ups but rather on a static group of players who are willing to dedicate themselves to the raid. We will be taking attendance issues VERY seriously. Consistently missing out on the raid, going AFK for long periods of time, abandoning the raid early or showing late may result in a player not obtaining his Raid Points or Attendance Marks for the day or in the worst case they may be replaced permanently. Communication is very important! Players not showing up for the raid without having communicated their absence will not be tolerated. Raid Points and Attendance Marks will be deducted if this occurs! We are aware that things come up and as long as a player makes sure they communicate their absence or any attendance issues before the raid starts we will be able to deal with them. Attendance is not only the raid leader’s responsibility but also EVERYONE else’s. If you or any another player will be absent please try to make an effort to find a replacement. A guaranteed spot cannot always be given to a replacement. However, if the raid cooperates together it alleviates much the crazy organizational responsibility placed on the raid leader. You can communicate your attendance issues to Calendar, Baracko or Kailand via mail, whispers, forums, etc. Roster and Loot Information The roster as well as current Raid Points and Attendance Marks can be viewed at the following website: Roster and Loot System Spreadsheet Roles Group Formations and Paladin Assignments Maulgar Encounter Calendar - Maulgar tank Orcala - Kiggler tank Sylvax - Krosh tank Smedlock - Olm tank #1 Craeslin - Olm tank #2 Eigun - Blindeye tank Aldrecs - Olm warlock #1 Darksol - Olm warlock #2 Hunee - Maulgar healer #1 Kierthan - Maulgar healer #2 Ryuk - Kiggler healer Phewd - Krosh healer Kadiana - Olm healer Crikrunner - Blindeye healer Changes in effect until Akir comes back from vacation: Hunee will be taking Akir's place. A Call to Arms - Gruul and his Friends Must be Slain!
Calendar replied to Calendar's topic in CS Base camp
Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that our Gruul/Magtheridon run will be starting THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, that is August 1st. I have sent an in-game mail to everyone that is currently on the permanent roster. I still have 1 spot left for a mage and 1 spot for a priest. So if you're interested let me know. If you haven't gotten a mail and still want to come, don't worry about it! It's VERY hard getting 25 reliable people on the first round of recruitment. We'll be VERY strict on attendance and if people aren't pulling their weight then they'll get switched up with someone that is willing to come. I'm sure this will be occurring at least a few times in the following weeks, so keep your hopes up. See you all Wednesday, Cal -
Unfortunately I won't be able to come either, I'm going camping this weekend. Kind of sucks I'll be missing it, we haven't had a meeting in so long

A Call to Arms - Gruul and his Friends Must be Slain!
Calendar replied to Calendar's topic in CS Base camp
Hey Crikrunner, If you can be there consistently every week then I'm going to add you to our permanent roster as a healer. ------------------------------ For the rest of the clan, Just wanted to let you all know that at this point the roster is in fact almost full!!! Here is what I am missing: 1 Healer 1 Warlock 1 DPSer (I would really like another mage in there) If any of you want in, make sure you let me know soon! Cal -
A Call to Arms - Gruul and his Friends Must be Slain!
Calendar replied to Calendar's topic in CS Base camp
While the group roster is being constructed with the idea of taking down both Gruul and Magtheridon, there is a fairly large difference in difficulty between the encounters. For this reason Magtheridon will only be attempt on nights where Gruul will have been taken down early enough. The differences between the encounters also means that if we are to succeed at both with the same group, we'll need a very specific class make-up and everyone will need to pull their own weight. This also means that I don't have a lot of flexibility on the classes that can come, so if you want a spot you need to speak up sooner rather than later. -

Of course we want you Smed, if you can show up reliably every week then that's what we need! I know you're an awesome tank so you'd be great for the Maulgar and Magtheridon fights. I'm a little worried about DPS on Gruul but if you have a half decent DPS set we should be good. If not then let me know and we can pitch in to get you any pieces you might be missing. Cal -
Hail friends, For sometime now efforts have been made to create a brand new 25-man raid group in order to take down the shorter raid bosses; Maulgar, Gruul and Magtheridon. The goal is very ambitious and we are currently looking for DEDICATED, RELIABLE and PERMANENT additions to our group. This is a new run and it’s being built from the ground up. It is not associated to any previous run or guild in particular but rather caters to guilds that may not have what it takes to make their own run. The roster for this group is static, meaning there will be no sign-ups and every week the same players will have to attend. The success of the raid is the responsibility of all its members as well as the raid leader. Here is the information for those who are interested: Day and time: Wednesdays 7:00pm to 10:00pm (server time) We are currently looking to fill the last remaining 13 spots: 3 Healers 2 Warlocks 3 Offtanks (druids, arms/fury warriors with a GOOD defensive set) 5 DPSers (preference on range DPS and rogues) If you’re interested please feel to contact me via an in-game mail, tell or by replying to this post. Thanks, Calendar

I just realized I haven't officially replied to this. In short, I'm more than interested, however this being a weekend run it becomes increasingly difficult for me to commit myself. There are just too many things that go on during the weekend and I think I'm not the only one in this position. I'll be able to give a more definitive answer closer to the actual raid date. Also, I'd hate to be the pessimist in the group, but I don't expect a new group to be able to down Magtheridon on the first try. Consistency, reliability and good gear all contribute greatly to the success of a raid. For the best chances at success you should probably try to fix a permanent day and time as well as a roster of committed players. Let me know if you need help with anything, Cal

Oh wow this is AWESOME news!!! I'm so glad more of the Crushers are taking an interest in Karazhan and willing to venture into that evil hell hole I can also help you guys in the recruitment process if you like, though most of my contacts are out of guild. Let me know and I can get you the ball rolling for whatever classes you're missing. I can also help out if you guys need any information on mobs, bosses, tactics, pulls, etc. I know the Crushers aren't a raiding guild, but it still makes me happy seeing us push content and helping each other out to achieve our goals. Cal

Hey everyone, I've been seretly forming up a team of elite combat fighters to raid Karazhan with. We are however a couple short and need help finding the missing links. Specifically we are looking for a holy or healing spec'd priest and another caster DPS. A shadow priest would be the ideal for the DPS role, but I'm not closed minded, anything will likely do. More than anything however, we're looking for dedicated, reliable and consistent raiders! If anyone has a friend, a family member or a pet that would like to come, let me know! Our raid dates and times are the following: Monday 7 to 10 pm Server Time Thursday 7 to 10 pm Server Time Thanks, Cal

Hi All, When I started this thread, it was with the intent of improving the raid attendance within my own group of raiders. Since the start I've been having a HUGE amount of difficulty getting the necessary people to join and consistently come on weekends. The problem has since then worsened considerably. Being the sole responsible roster manager I could no longer bare the burden of juggling people around week after week. I cannot fathom how a single 10-man raid should take up twice the time in preparation than it does in actual game play. I have often stated my desire to move this raid to weekdays, to deal with both the shortage of people and the summer weekends. With the recent lost of a main healer, a mage as well as other people becoming unreliable at best, I thought the time had come to make the switch. I'm sorry Rhoach for having to do this, but I can no longer keep up the role I had before. I'm aware that some people have scheduling problems, and I truly feel sorry for them, but if this raid is to be even remotely successful I simply cannot think of any other way of doing this. It was NEVER in my intention to steal people from your raid Vendes (or anyone else’s), whether it was regulars or replacements. My intentions were to make another short recruitment run and try to find people to fill in the gaps. I know that the Clan has a limited number raiders, it was not my intent to hog them all. At least half of my raid has been composed of different guilds; I did not have any issues continuing along this route. After all these explanations however, I have notice that my announcement have made quite a few people visibly upset. So I'm going to nip this in the butt now before it goes any further and officially declare my resignation as a Skullcrusher Karazhan raid leader. Since I can no longer cope with the increasing demands of weekend raiding and shifting this raid to weekdays is causing too many problems, I will postpone my role until a more opportune time for raiding presents itself. We are a family, I care a lot about the Clan’s integrity and so I will put the Clan’s needs before my own. I acknowledge my current position as a Warmonger and will accept any consequence deemed appropriate by the Elders in response to my current actions. Cal In short: - Too people have dropped out or simply do not show up at the weekend raid - I tried changing the dates for week days but it seems to have cause more problems than anything else - I’m resigning as raid leader for the moment until better opportunities present themselves - I love the Clan so very much and will work on making the bonds between us stronger

Hi everyone, I wanted to post this to advise you all of a shift in scheduling for my Karazhan raid. Due to recent attendance issues and roster changes, my Karazhan raid has become totally unmanageable. Summer weekends are just not the ideal time to have people stay indoors and play WoW. It's impossible for me to keep track of everyone's changing schedule week after week in the hopes of putting together a well balanced group. This is aggravated by the fact that many people refuse to use the sign up pages or do not update their status. However, my love for raiding is too strong for me abandon Karazhan all together, so I'll be changing the time and dates to the following: Thursdays 7:00pm to 10:00pm Mondays 7:00pm to 10:00pm Attendance marks will be maintained Roster positions will be reserved for regulars (provided they can make the new time slots) If you can't make it on weekdays, please advise Rhoach since he may choose to pursuit the raid during weekends I expect of course to be losing a few good players because of this change, I feel really bad about this but it's simply impossible to accommodate everyone all the time. If you've had any interest in the past in coming to Karazhan with us PLEASE SIGN UP! If you can only make 1 of the scheduled days PLEASE SIGN UP and let me know! If you can't attend regularly and would like to be a replacement player PLEASE SIGN UP when you can and let me know! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, Cal P.S: This forum post is an extended version of the mail I sent to most of our Karazhan raiders.

These are attendance marks, they're not meant as a DKP system. As long as people have 3 marks banked up they are free to roll on which ever item they want. The goal of these marks is to simply enforce participation before racking up all the loot. It also allows for better dispersion of the loot instead of always allotting to the people with the highest dice roll. So to answer your question: No, items do not have a specific DKP value.

Hey clan, After some discussion with my raid group, I'm expecting to be missing quite a few people this coming weekend. In order to try and prepare for this shortage I'd like to get some extras signed up before then. Always better to get the people now rather than waiting at the entrance for half an hour the day of the event. So here's a list of the days and the roles that we'll be missing. If you're interested please post here or let me know! Note: I wrote down the classes of the people that will be missing, but it doesn't mean that the replacements must be of the same class. I'll be more than happy to get a resto shammie in the place of a priest for example. Saturday: 1 Tank (replacing a warrior) Sunday: 1 Healer (replacing a priest)

Hey guys, Just putting my 2 cents here too... First of all I think putting a limit on the amount of time an initiation takes during the meetings wouldn't be so bad. I enjoy the RP, but I think that most of the time there's so much playing around that the actual initiation gets lost in the flood of emotes and inevitably makes the whole process so much longer. Maybe keep the initiations short and somehow lengthen the major announcements with RP? I also agree with Kailand, I'm not a big fan with the 9:00pm meeting time. I know it's to try and accommodate people as best we can, but at that time slot I find it mostly gets in the way of any actual instances/raid. There's just no enough time prior to 9:00pm to do anything and after the meeting it's too late to start a new run. --------------------------- To Vendes and anyone else that's interested in raiding: I know how hard it is to recruit people, and how much harder it is to get a good balance. I can help with you this, but I need you to remain committed! If Thursdays and Tuesdays are the when you want to raid, then please set up time slots and I will travel the world (of warcraft) in search of the brave souls you need. Already I know of many that would be willing to join you! The one thing you'll have to concede to is the fact that there just won't be enough Crushers to fill your raid and probably half of it will need to be people from other guilds! Add a post and list the names those you have recruited up to now and I can help you fill up the remaining spots...I promise!

I definitely agree that the Raid Sign-Up sign needs to be fix a bit. In fact, I think the whole CS site needs a bit of re-vamping. Nothing says CS=AWESOMENESS like fresh coat of web paint.

Hey guys, I haven't forgotten about it. It's just a bit on a hiatus. I ran out from my stock of screen captures and pre-compiled trivia. Once I get a good bunch of them again I'll post the next trivia! In the meantime, if anyone has any left over Marks of Sargeras the trivia bank is running awfully low at the moment (plenty of Scryer Marks however!). Thanks, Cal

Hey guys, The Skullcrusher & Friends Karazhan raid is really picking up! However week after week I notice we never take the time to down the animal bosses. So starting this Monday if anyone's interested in hitting this one boss let me know! This is a great chance for those of us who aren't part of a current run to get some exposure to the raid. The boss takes a dozen or so pulls to get to and will drop 1 random epic item with a random enchant on it. Invites will start at 8:00pm Game Server Time, please make sure you send me a mail, a whisper or private message on the forums to let me know you're interested! The entire encounter takes 45min to an hour in order to complete. Cal
