*Cries* My poor poor beetles... Beetles fall down the tallest wimp tree... ...and hit every branch on their way down. That l33t pack fighter may now rest in peace. The Dev Team figured their strength made them too popular so they got revamped... for the worse. Those of you who haven't yet received the scenario (ie everyone but LS) enjoy the last hours with your powerful beetle. Once you get the scenario, your beetles stats will have taken a serious drop. Here is a sample of the stats beating a beetle took overnight: Before After GM Wrestle GM Tactics 72.3 Resist GM Anatomy 300 HP 125 Dex 50 Wrestle 50 Tactics 30 Resist 50 Anatomy 75 HP 63 Dex Talk about rude awakenings! The only upside is that it can still carry 1600 stones like before. Please note that your weight is added to the weight your beetle carries. So for those of you wondering why when you try to ride a fully packed beetle, you keep getting the message that you're fatigued, it's because your weight combined to that of your beetle exceeds 1600. Next up Thorns! Stick it in the sand, ant hole appears. It will give you access to the 5th ant hole and the fire see. Stick it in the snow, you get ice snakes and a tameable giant ice worm. Stick it in the grass, random regs appear. Stick it in the swamp area, a wipping vine (looks like a corpser) will appear, and gives vines as loot Stick it in the farm land, a "Vorple bunny" will appear, very hard to kill. Rumor has it it carries easter eggs

Tameable "Ice Worms" Plant the thorn in Ice/Snow Beat Ice Serp into submission Tame just like a beetle. =]

No pun intended. Saw this post and thought It would be wise to warn. "BTW. Info you may want for your news page. I found a bug with gold checks and beetles. If someone is mounted on a beetle and I hand then a check it drops to the ground below them and is covered by the beetle. I had this happen twice to me. very bad bug."

A little info not exactly "scenario" related but coming in with that patch: Gardening makes a comeback. And a usefull one too! There is a new resource now available to gardeners and players, called thorns. Those sweet little resources will spawn random piles of each regs simply by planting a thorn in a brown patch of dirt. The same dirt you fill your plant bowls with. So if you run out of regs and out of charges in your arcane suit, just find some brown stick your thorn in some dirt and you're ready to go. The stacks of assorted regs will start appearing within seconds in the area where you planted the thorn. On her first attempt, Devil Woman received 7 stacks of regs: 2 of sulfurous ash and 1 each of nightshade, black pearl, spiders' silk, blood moss, and garlic for a total of: 32 ash, 18 pearl, 12 moss, 18 garlic, 11 spiders' silk, and 15 nightshade. The thorns can be obtained through cross-pollination of 4th generation plants. They are bright green resources and therefore come from bright green plants. The confirmed plats producing them are the bright green barrel cactus and the bright green snake plants. This is not confirmed since I am no gardener, but, would be interesting.

Actual Combat results of Beetles. I decided to take my new "pet" out to test its limits. Results follow. 300hp total Beetle Harpies = Not even a sratch (2 harpies) Earth Eles = at most 6-7 hp lost on one Earthy Ice Troll = Killed Frost troll with about 180 hp left Air Ele = Killed Ele lost 59 of 300 hp. Please note that this was a freshly tamed beetle with no training. This will be a very useful tool for warriors.

At the request of Sir Brightblade whom Neo petitioned for this post, I have discussed with Neo what is required of all to gain promotion. In order to achieve a rank of authority or of advisor all members must complete the steps listed below to achieve knighthood. These have been posted in other places on these boards and I am reposting here so that all members may be aware of the requirments. These "benchmarks" have been created so that all members are assured that a equal standard has been set for all. Any whom wish to advance will be able to complete these steps and do so. There is no favortism in PGoH. These steps have been completed by some to gain the rank they hold. To allow others to achieve rank without doing so would diminish their predecessors accomplishments and service to the empire. ................................................................................ ... SQUIRE The following items are traits to display or events to be completed to qualify for advancement. Completion of these requirements shows the legionnaire displays the primary requirements for success in PGoH and qualifies him or her for advancement. Loyalty Dedication Humility 1) Meeting with Decurion: A one time meeting to discuss the requirements for advancement Ø Define character attributes for cohort assignment (skills) Ø Provide contact information (icq#) Ø Receive training assignment(s) Ø To have any questions regarding the Guild answered. 2) Participation: This can not be overstated. Taking part in guild events is a solid requirement for advancement. This includes meetings, hunting, and working with other legionnaires to assist in mutual development (i.e. skill building, combat training, etc.) No one is expected to be able to attend every event but one cannot appear after two months of inactivity within the guild and expect advancement. 3) Term of service: All legionnaires are to serve at that rank for at least 30 days. This allows for “bad apples” to be revealed and also allows time for the recruit to become knowledgeable in Guild rules and standards. 4) Participation in at least one announced Guild combat mission (hunt) and show proficiency in the use of PGoH tactics as detailed by the senator of war. 5) Participation in at least one “work session” to gather resources for PGoH use. Decurion DarKnight sat quietly on a small hill overlooking a small valley located near Trinsic. He had taken a brief pause to sit down and have a bite to eat. The late day sun was still warm and he could feel a gentle breeze play along his hair. The forest around him was alive with the sounds of the birds and he had been lucky enough to spot a few hearts grazing themselves on the lush grass of the valley. He was returning home after traveling to Serpents Hold to attend an initial meeting of what could be the beginnings of an alliance of the realms many different factions. This alliance held some promise but much work still awaited those who had initiated the meeting. Although he harbored some concerns, he felt that these could be resolved fairly easily. As always his mind did not rest long on the peacefulness of the evening and soon had wandered off into the current events of the realms. In his mind he categorized the immediate issues concerning the empire in an attempt to rate their urgency and determine, what he would advise, as the Guardians next step. The Ophidians had been the target of a covert recognizance operation several days ago. This operation was infact so successful that it was thought by many to have dealt a major blow to their combat forces. Based on this information it was deigned by the leaders of the cohorts to delay the planned assault as being unnecessary at this time. Steel was awaiting more reports on this and pending that information would advise if the currently delayed assault would need to be initiated. The Savages appeared to be reeling from the Empire’s last offensive and he had been informed, through his contacts, that this had also created some other headaches for Lord Blackthorn. The tribal leaders calls for aid had went unanswered by the Juka forces currently occupying the abandoned catacombs of Wrong. Steel chuckled slightly at this. “It seems the Juka’s lack of respect for humans can also play into our hands”. He also had also been informed that the Tribal elders had sworn vengeance against the Guardians. Vengeance that could only repaid in blood. This was expected but troubled him none the less as he knew that there were several outposts of Savages in this land and Ilshennar that could be of hindrance. The Juka themselves had occupied Wrong for much too long and Steel definitely didn’t like the fact that enemy forces of such caliber were based so close to the Guardians sphere of influence. Although apart from occasional sightings they appeared not to be venturing forth in any large groups. This encampment would need to be dealt with though sooner or later. A movement by his feet caught his attention and he looked downwards to note a large line of red ants marching from a small hole in the earth. The line of ants continued for as far as he could see into the forest. The “gods” only knew how many of them there were. He noticed for how many ventured forth an almost equal amount was returning back. Each carrying some small piece of matter to feed the colony. Looking down the trail he noted a large patch of red and walked over to investigate its cause. A grasshopper had been unfortunate enough to have lain still a bit to long and was in the process of trying to flee for its life. Seemily hundreds of ants were clinging to almost every visible part of its exterior and it was not long before the ant’s large mandibles were rending it apart. “Such small creatures” he thought. But enmass they could kill creatures 100 times their size with deadly efficiency. This troubled Steel as he had heard many reports of a creature akin to ants seen wandering the realms recently. These “ants” had been easily dispatched and he had heard that they were, at this time, very uncommon as it was rare to see more than one at any time. Troubling indeed he thought as he watched the grasshopper be disintegrated into nothiness. “I fear that dark days are ahead and before it is over we shall those small groups multiplied into great hordes of these creatures”. Yet another potential threat to the peace in the realms. With that in mind, Steel, mounted his steed and rode off into the sunset. The story of the Empire is being written day by day. Standing over the long cold body Borg let out a sigh…battered, bloody, and tired he knew he had but one task before him…Grasping the vial containing the soul of the Ancient he had just defeated he reached for a scroll and with a Kal Ort Por he was away. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… “Kill them” “Kill them all”..The ancient warrior walked through a fog….in his mind the words continued to repeat..”Kill them” Kill them all”…. At one time the ancient warrior once stood for all that was the guardians. Now he was just a tool…a tool of death..A blade unsheathed. He was traveling towards an ancient tower. The voices had told him he would find his prey there..Defenseless they would be…He was to slay them all…Occasionally he heard another voice..A voice that told him to stop but he couldn’t really hear the voice well and the others soon drowned it out. “Kill them” Kill them all” ………………………………………………………………………………………………… In the dark Void Borg walked. He traveled alone and lightly. What he was to attempt many felt to be suicide and if it were to be his death he would see that none of his Guardians joined him. His ancient foe laid near..He felt him and he knew that his foe too knew of his presence. Borg smirked..His old foe wouldn’t pass an opportunity to rid himself of the guardian’s leader and in doing so he would play right into his hands.. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… Stealthily the Ancient warrior walked. He crept thru the foliage surrounding the Tower that he vaguely remembered being called “Safe Haven”. From the inside he could hear the sounds of celebration..laughing and cheering… “Kill them” “Kill them all” ………………………………………………………………………………………………… Blade met Blade and as the clash of metal rang thru the void. The two sworn enemies having squared off in a battle that would ultimately end in ones death. No boasting, No cries declaring upcoming victory came thru the night. Each blow struck was met with the other. Each side looking for an edge…a hole that would allow them to slip in their blade and end this feud once and for all. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… Looking downward Earwen was the first to see the figure standing motionlessly outside the Tower. “What is that?” she said as the rest of the Guardians joined her in looking over the battlements. “Hmmm could it be” said Logan as he moved from the battlements and rushed down the steps. The rest of the guardians in attendance followed him down and cautiously opened the portals to the outside. In unison all of them spoke “WOLF”! …………………………………………………………………………………………………… Their battle had seemed to have lasted ages. Borg felt himself tiring and was slowly wearing down. The blows of his enemy seemingly coming faster and faster. With a breath and a loud cry he sprang forward. Intent on ending this battle for good or ill. ………………………………………………………………………………………………… Standing completely naked, other than a loincloth, Wolf stood in the lowest floor of Safe Haven…seemingly unaware of what was around him he spoke of a battle. A Battle taking place far away with dire consequences for the realms. Looking into the distance and something only he could see he spoke of the events happening far away. Steel DarKnight looked over to Lady Lora and whispered. “It seems that, at least for this moment, whatever was controlling him is failing or at least has its attention elsewhere.” Listening to Wolf and idea had started to form. “Lady Lora…can you take your beasts of war and check Lord Blackthorn’s Tower..I think our answer may lie there”. Lora nodded and with a word of magic was away. The door of the Tower opened and Prometheus strode in carrying a strange talisman. “I believe” he spoke “That with this we may be able to bond with his mind” ………………………………………………………………………………………………… Borg stood over the fallen form of his foe..Breathing heavily, he kept his blade pressed to the throat of the fallen one. The dark one chuckled and spoke “Go ahead…end it”. But Know this..with my death comes the death of your precious “Ancient”. ..Borg nodded knowing that the dark one was not lying. “A first for everything” he thought. “A trade then Borg…my life for your ancients….” …………………………………………………………………………………………………… Looking about as if for the first time Wolf saw many faces he had not seen in some time…”Were am I he spoke”…Prom?..Steel?…Triston?..Earwen? Gently Prometheus laid a hand on his brother’s shoulder…. “Welcome Home” ………………………………………………………………………………………………… Wolf has been cured. The story told. The future is yet to be determined. It is good to see so many input their opinions on this issue. As I mentioned my original post was intended for a matter of reflection. My intention to unite not to separate. The ranks below knighthood are currently empty (very low). Soon I hope that they will be again teeming with ones whom seek to learn the path that many have walked before. We all prepare the way of those whom shall follow. I agree with everything mentioned above. Do not think otherwise. PGoH is one of the longest lasting guilds on the shard for a reason. The reason being the people involved in it. I have seen first hand the time, effort, and true devotion given towards the promotion of this guild and those within. Regarding those whom departed before. In all honesty most as was mentioned did not do what was required of them. And I feel if you do not make an effort than you get what you give. Case in point = XXXX (09:49 PM) : I spoke with XXXXX in haven earlier and he said he was thinking of leaving because he never 'benefited' from the guild. He has yet to actually decide to leave so I thought id let you know. Perhaps if we involve him in more hunts he shall stay Steel (09:50 PM) : XXXX? I sympathize with is quandary but activities have recently started. He doesn’t attend meetings and has not tried to play an active part in anything. Has he even checked the boards? Steel (09:50 PM): Wish him well and tell him he must do what he must. I spoke for a few who did infact make the effort and for whatever reason THEY felt they weren’t involved. For whatever reason real or imagined justified or not. Another whom felt it worth note also mentioned this. this member who left......always followed them to the letter....*Borg email* Why did I bring this up? Potentially bringing flames upon myself… When I ask someone to join, or when I spend time working with and individual and spend my time teaching them not only how to play (if needed) the game but influence how they interact with others around them. I take it personally. Why waste your time if not? Life is in itself to short. I have asked them to join because as an individual I see in them the qualities that will further promote the guilds charter. Someone whom I would enjoy playing with in the future. I also understand that by them agreeing to join and to be willing to spend their time with us they look to the one whom sponsored them (invited) to assist them on their way. Your (sponsor) name in the eyes of that person is judged, your character in question. I value my name. As I mentioned “We all prepare the way of those whom shall follow.” I am preparing… This was a matter for reflection upon and is to each to decide. That is done. Let’s go play the game.

In following with the duties of my position I have been working with a new member recently having entered the realm. This new member whom, having been guilded for two weeks, has shown a great wiliness to learn, and to serve the cause in HONOR. Now that I feel that he is a worthy addition to our ranks I am pleased to announce him to all. Aidan. With the new scenario coming in tommorow I have decided to start a post regarding it. Over the next few weeks many discoveries will be made and passing these on to your fellow members will be of benefit to all. I have recieved word that issue number 3 has been rectified as of this morning. 3) A potential "alternate persona” with the ability to add recruits to the stone. Brightblade as been given the ability to stone recruits. App review and others are still pending (to the best of my knowledge). Please continue to post your selves and your recruits so that they may be addressed.

This post is intended to advance the plan of action discussed in yesterdays meeting at Olympus. Please post below if you are currently an active member within the UO division of PGoH. Also, in order for us to gain a idea of recruits currently awaiting stoning please note any applicants you have sponsored and whom yet to be approved and added to the stone. Issues that require addressing. 1) Application review and follow up interview. 2) Backlog of recruited individuals awaiting addition to the stone. 3) A potential "alternate persona” with the ability to add recruits to the stone. 4) The “alternate persona” having the ability to review “applications” 5) Inactive members defined (Inactive in participation) and positions opened for promotion. 6) A clear chain of command for our scheduled events (i.e. weekly meeting) should the Emperor be unavailable. The opportunity to be lead “conductor” in the last two meetings has been an educational experience in oratory for me. I appreciate the time each and every one of you has allowed for me to speak and also the concerns you have requested addressed. As you will note the points listed above are a summary of your concerns for the “powers that be” to address. I hope I have conducted and structured these meetings to all whom were presents satisfaction. Have you spent time with your guildmates today? Have you assisted them, taught them, and showed them things they haven’t seen before? Are you there for them in their time of need? In yesterdays meeting ( 9/8when wrote, last weeks semi-meeting) we discussed PGoH’s current status. Many thoughtful things were said most of which I agreed with. I wanted to post here about a vision I have and what I see that is keeping this vision from reality. A thought for all of you to consider. This is only my vision although some of you may share it. Remember these? Sorry but I'm not sure I am joining went on a hunt this eve...a couple of people couldn't give me the courtesy of a hello died three times, twice because I was out of mana from helping others When I made my way back alone to help- it all seemed very indifferent Lots of people seem cool though, you have a great guild not befitting a patron of honour, whose aim should be to help the less experienced, not "put them in their places") Has anything truly changed to consider this corrected? Let me share with you some other things that have been said to me in my time with PGoH. “You are the only one who really cares if I live or die or lose my stuff.” “Well I cant stay you see I never see or hear from any of the others in the guild. Seems they don’t really want to hunt with us” The simple fact is that the greatest gift you have to building the guild, to what I hope we all want it to be, is your time. Do you only speak to your brethren during hunts or meetings? Do you ever simply go out to hunt but see who may be online and invite them? You see the greatest gift YOU have to give is not gold, resources, power scrolls, uber magic items. The greatest gift you have to give is to spend time with your “family”. By this I mean all of your family not just one or two. You see all that gold and items are just pixels. Pixels that cost roughly $10 a month. What is truly important is the individual who sits behind his or her computer enjoying his hobby, and doing so, with others of like mind. I am afraid we all sometimes forget this. When I joined I joined with 10-12 other warriors of the Champions of Camelot. Sadly only 3 of us remain. (Steel, Kodoz, Schneider) Most of the posts you see above are from those ex members. They never truly felt welcome. They had become use to a different way. A way in which the group hunted together almost all the time. Groups gathered and hunted for fun. Not just for RP events. The reason we left the Champions of Camelot? The senior members felt that they didn’t need to involve themselves with us. Now this is not to condone anyone. It is simply a matter I wish all to reflect upon and for discussion. My time here in PGoH has been enjoyable. But I ask you. “Have you spent time with your guildmates today?”

He had been at his desk for many hours reviewing maps and reconnaissance reports from his contacts in the field. Starting to rise to go investigate, he was stopped as a fellow guardian entered his office. “Hail Prometheus” Steel said. Prometheus looked about the office and then to the Decurion. “Hail Steel”. Vigil at Sacrifice Shrine Trammel Moon, Catskills September 11, 2002 12:00a.m. until September 12, 2002 12:am est. The Guardians of Light and Allies would like to host a Vigil at Sacrifice Shrine Catskills Trammel in rememberance of the events of September 11th 2001, in honor of those who died, their families and the fire fighters and policeman who sacrificed so much for others. We would also like to honor the armed forces who have fought for our freedom and those reserves who are always ready to serve our country. We need to remember our nation's and allied nation's leaders at this time as well, that they will have the wisdom and discernment to make the decisions to allow us to continue in the freedom we hold so dear. Please come to the shrine anytime during the 24 hour period and bring a candle to stand in silence and reflection. We will have a brief memorial ceremony at 9pm edt. Ange San Ailes the Heran Centurion and Decurion Steel walked through the old fortress of power that now lay empty. Empty, as it had lain now for many years since its guardians had long ago been vanquished by evil. Dank and musty the passages covered by dust that until now had remained undisturbed for many a year. The fortress had long ago been stripped of anything of worth and the halls were completely devoid of any decorum. The stonework in many places showed the marks of combat. The blast of magery and the marks of the parried blade had left permanent evidence of the previous battles here. Many had laid siege to this fortress and many battles had been fought here, the defenders always victorious, until the last. After a brief moment of silence Steel began to speak. “Ange, so now you understand what we hope to accomplish?” Ange answered “Yes sir I do.”. Steel nodded “So what are your thoughts?” Ange smiled “A excellent plan sir. I believe we should be able to achieve our goal.” Steel nodded once more and looked down the empty hall. “Aye, the trap is going to be set” he said. “A little bait for the rat and BAM!” Steel punched one mailed fist into the other to emphasize his point. “Ange for this mission to succeed this plan must be kept in complete secrecy until we begin our assault. The enemy we face and their allies have many eyes and ears through out the realms. If our battle plans fall into the wrong hands we could very well be marching to our own funerals.
