  1. (OOC: Just a short little tale as my way of apologizing to everyone for my absences; College has been really rough, and since i havent been able to entertain people in game I thought maybe i could give you something to read. Any comments are always welcome) Kodoz had many weeks past recieved a pigeon from an old friend with a simple message. Had he known what would happen as the result of his answering the message...he still would have done it. However he would have been better prepared. [Many weeks ago] A paragon was keeping people from being able to safely reach the exit of Ilshenar at Compassion. Kodoz knew what he had to do, and he grabbed one of his Dragon Slayers and headed out. As he appeared through the gate he immediately was struck from his mount. He yelled at the old swamp dragon to flee and it obediently ran back through the gate. Kodoz had brought enough weapons that he should be able to do this though. He drew his kryss and his bronze shield and swung it in front of him and assumed a fighting posture. The monster was huge...there was no doubt of it being either a paragon or an ancient wyrm. The normal ancient wyrm was a task enough for any person, even an experienced warrior such as Kodoz...A paragon might even be too much for him to handle. He quickly let fly a pigeon to seek out any of the guardians that were available, but for the time being he would fight...and he would fight alone. The Ancient Wyrm Roared its fury at Kodoz, its sheer volume enough to leave Kodoz' ears ringing. Kodoz shook his head once to clear it, and in that split second the creature lunged for him; Kodoz dove to get away but the massiveness of the beast was too much. Kodoz was still struck by the wyrm and skidded across the grass and dirt, his royal purple cloak ripping as it snagged on fallen branches and rocks, and Kodoz finally came to a halt. He gathered himself up and stood, and sheathed the kryss and slung the shield on his back under his cloak. The bottom of his cloak was shredded, and it blew in the sparse wind amidst the area near the compassion gate. Kodoz pulled a dagger from each of his legs where he had them strapped, and quickly sprinted straight for the beast.... The Wyrm looked at him in confusion and then prepared to bite him in two, and at the last second Kodoz pivoted onone foot and turned in the other direction; the Wyrms bite cleaved through the air where Kodoz would have been had he continued. Kodoz saw a clear shot and threw both daggers with all the speed he could manage; the wyrm roared in defiance and saw the daggers, one hurling for its temple the other for its eye; it merely shut its eyelid and the daggers bounced off the armored scales of the wyrm. However Kodoz took the moment of blindness to draw his kryss and slice at the creatures neck; In one smooth swing his kryss cleaved through armor scales and flesh and bone, and the beast fell to the ground with a huge crash. Kodoz sheathed his kryss and turned towards the gate. He saw one of the other guardians at the gate...Dinadan, one of those he shared a close bond with. Dinadan asked him about it. "You...you killed it?" Kodoz merely nodded. "Are you sure its dead?" "Whats that mean Dinadan?" "I heard that reptiles dont truly die until after the sun goes down..." Kodoz suddenly had a look of horror on his face and started to draw his kryss and turn when the jaws of the once fallen beast closed around one of his legs. Kodoz let out an anguished scream as the fangs of the monster bit deep into the flesh of his left leg, and Kodoz fought to keep from blacking out from the pain. Dinadan was still in a moment of shock and horror, and Kodoz used what he had left in him to finish drawing the kryss, and stabbed it straight down into the wyrms forehead. The wyrms teeth bit down harder for a split second and Kodoz passed out, and then the wyrm finally died. Dinadan's moment of inaction was broken, and he rushed forward and grasped Kodoz by his arms and slowly dragged him to the moongate. Dinadan gasped in horror at the severity of the bite wound on Kodoz' leg and quickly took him to Trinsic, the City of Honor. He was able to get Kodoz' motionless body to the healers, and laid him down on one of the beds. Dinadan was quick to order the healers to watch after Kodoz and do their best to help him. Dinadan didnt know what else he could do... [Present] Kodoz stood from the healers bed in Trinsic and tried to put some weight on his left leg and gritted his teeth from the nearly unbearable pain, and let himself fall once more back onto the bed. This wait for healing was killing him. The healers for some reason insisted that he not be allowed to send pigeons, and his only visitor had been Dinadan. He cursed himself for a fool for the millionth time...he knew better than to have ever turned his back on an opponent so strong that would fall so early on in a fight! Stupid, stupid, stupid! Because of his mistake he nearly lost his leg...had he not been lucky it would have been his life. Kodoz had asked the healers how much longer it would be and always he recieved the same answer...'only time will tell'... *Hope you enjoyed! I miss all of the guardians and will be coming back ASAP, and just know I'm wishing I wasn't having so much college work so I could be chilling with yall!*

  6. Kodoz had been away for some time; he had visited a few times in recent months when he had breaks from his journeys. He had been contemplating many things. The apron still fit when he returned, as he had known it would. However the cloak on his back had grown heavy with the mantle of leadership. He had thought over it before. He had served a long time in the guardians, long enough that if necessary he could claim his retirement as Triston did…his minds drifted back to his old friend. Triston had done what he knew had to be done; he was no longer around enough to hold his position, and so he had lain aside his title of Magistrate. Was it now time for Kodoz to do the same? Kodoz didn’t think so but he wasn’t sure. He was going to be back home, here at the PGoH Lodge far more often now, and could fill his position…but should he? Or was it time for him also to step aside? Make way for the new? He removed his cloak for a moment and held it before him; he then softly spoke to himself. “What should I do?” "You could start by getting me a cup of tea. A journey this far and long, and no tea waiting? Bah! Young people these days!" Strider looked down and grinned at Kodoz. He had known this lad for some time now. Had even been watching him from afar while he travelled. While the both of them travelled. Kodoz sought truth in his life, and adventure and meaning. Strider sought to aid those in need, to obtain a certain balance. Now, Kodoz was in need. Strider grinned widely, and his body began to glow blue. He feigned impatience and jokingly scolded the lad.. Strider, grinned and winked at the obviously confused Kodoz. Yes. It was good to be back. "Well?! Have you no manners, dont stare and gawk with yer jaw on the floor, I did ask for tea did I not?" Kodoz looked up suddenly at the voice and blinked. He had returned? Strider was back? He then tried to turn quickly and look like he had been ready for him and he got tangled in the cloak and cursed in his mind. Great now he thinks I am a fool. Kodoz sighed once and untangled himself, and strapped the cloak back on. “I’ll get you some…” Kodoz moved to the large dressers in the Lodge; they contained all of Ed’s things, and among other things Ed did a bit of cooking and such. Kodoz knew how to make decent tea. He then mixed some up and passed it over the forge to heat it, and handed a cup to the Ancient. “What brings you back sir? Its been ages…Not that I’m complaining mind you, just curious. How long have you been there by the way?” "Your first question. I brought me back, OBVIOUSLY," Strider winked at the poor confused Kodoz. "And the second, how 'long' I have been 'here' is a question relative only to ones concept of time. In your mind I have always been here. In my own I am not 'here' at all." Strider smiled gently. "The important issue Kodoz, is this. Honour does not leave behind those who serve it simply because it is tired, or has 'reached its goal' honour serves those who seek it for eternity. And as time is relative to the mind of he who examines it, that eternity could indeed go on without end. Thus, if you feel you have done your service. You are correct. Ofcourse you have, you have sought honour, and sought to serve it. On that point. If honours job is never complete, how can yours be? The empire, needs honour. And you have served it wisely, with strength. The universe may become tired, but it does not end its cycle merely out of exhaustion. You have had your rest. Come now. Your time is now." Kodoz smiled. Strider was still the same. He could read Kodoz like an open book. However Strider also still tended to speak in abstracts as much as he could. But he was right. Kodoz could feel in his heart, his mind, his very soul that Strider was right. Kodoz time was still at hand, and it would be a long time until he hung up his kryss. “Your right old friend. And as long as I can I will fight for honor. For the empire. And against any who would oppose it.” Kodoz took the kryss from its sheath and glanced at its finely honed craftsmanship. It had fought against all the enemies of the empire in recent years. Kodoz had been with the guardians for nearly three years…and he would look forward to the next three. Kodoz then held out his hand to Strider openly. “Is your time now then too my friend?” Strider smiled, and sighed. Was his time now? His time had been always. If not in this world then in the myriad others. This world, this place he stood now, he had had a time here once. He lived in mortal form here, watching people, guiding people. But was "his time" now? Yes. "Yes my friend, I think, that MY time. NO matter what that is exactly.. is indeed. Now." "So let us go.. I understand we are under dressed and under armed for the world as it is now, eh?" Strider grinned and winked at Kodoz. "We have much to prepare for young friend. Just know. I am at your side. You are not alone, never have been in fact." Strider winked, and laughed loudly patting him on the back. "Come. Honour does call.. and so does my tea!" Kodoz chuckled along with the ancient and then they talked over a great deal of things. Mostly small talk and a lot of catching up. He then told the ancient that he would have Ed make them both some armor and get the ancient whatever he needed. Indeed it was their time. It was a time of many things now; a time of rejuvenation; a time of returns. A time of old friends coming back, and new friends being made. Guardians had left, but other guardians were returning. It was the way of change; but for Kodoz one thing would never change…his friends. He would always consider any who had served a tenure in the guardians as friends. And the ancients were especially essential to the Empire. In every time of need they had been around to show the way; to help the Empire. Kodoz was somewhat saddened by things that had happened recently, but with the return of so many of those who had helped shape the empire into what it was and what it would be things were looking up once more. Truly the Gods favored those that strode through the halls of honour. With that Strider laughed harder and smiled. He paused, let forth an odd and powerful cry in an elvish tongue older than any heard in this world for thousands of year. Blue light, streaming from the air around them, coalesced about their persons. Kodoz looked startled as the light enveloped him and glanced at Strider quickly, and then calmed himself realizing that Strider obviously knew what he was doing… And they were gone. Gone to serve Honour once more.

Seven of Nine: We worry for our loved ones Seven of Nine: And our friends, victims of war Seven of Nine: We wonder in our hearts Seven of Nine: How, or if we should even the score. Seven of Nine: Killing is a sin Seven of Nine: It says so in the Bible Seven of Nine: Is it also a sin Seven of Nine: To stand around and be idle? Seven of Nine: To tolerate terrorism? Seven of Nine: Lives lost at the hightest cost? Seven of Nine: We have to make a stand Seven of Nine: But surely more innocent lives will be lost. Seven of Nine: How do we count the live's? Seven of Nine: Be it five or five-hundred Seven of Nine: Their part is still innocent Seven of Nine: Of that, we are assured. Seven of Nine: War is ugly Seven of Nine: Hard and cruel Seven of Nine: We didnt fully understand this Seven of Nine: When learning history in school. Seven of Nine: Funny how you see things Seven of Nine: When not winessing first hand Seven of Nine: For now, as adulst Seven of Nine: WE have to make the stand Seven of Nine: As hard as it may seem Seven of Nine: We can do it if we try Seven of Nine: We gather strength from each other Seven of Nine: And dcomfort when we cry. Seven of Nine: We become strong for our children Seven of Nine: We hid the anquish in our hearts. Seven of Nine: We try to think positive Seven of Nine: Trusting our leaders to do their part. Seven of Nine: But sometimes we are still childlike Seven of Nine: Amazed, now that we know Seven of Nine: We understand the pain of war Seven of Nine: The history books didnt show. Seven of Nine: Stand tall strong allies Seven of Nine: The battle is centuries old Seven of Nine: Of good vs evil Seven of Nine: Of virtues vs gold Logan: A god joins us Logan: *smiles* Seven of Nine: Follow your hearts Seven of Nine: Pray with earnest and humility Seven of Nine: Good will prevail Seven of Nine: To save all of humanity. Lydia: *says a slient prayer* Seven of Nine: Thank you for you patience Kragor: *salutes* Johny Ringo: Thank You Seven Dinadan: Are there any others that wish to speak? 12. Actually i have a suit of purple armor, not factionhued. checked with five GM's now, all said it was legal. sent an email to UO.com and they told me the method i used to get it was fully legal; its not that hideous bright purple that faction hue is on say a shield. unfortunately it can only be done with dragon armor; ive been wearing it for a while. I dont thinkthe faction hue is safe, but thats my opinion
  13. Just would like to comment on Borgs speaking of the Legion Line. Prior to joining PGoH you may not have known i searched for months for a good guild, and never found one. All the ones i went to were together merely for convenience or for someone to come hunt with you. PGoH stands for far more than that. We all have a kinship together and I would do anything for any member of the guild. We are more than guildmates,we are brothers and sisters. Though we may have our differences, our likenesses will always conquer those. Now onto my secondary reason for posting. Borg ive heard you speak of many tales to us in the years i have been with the guardians. However the first major quest I was part of in PGoH Was the quest of the poisoned trees in Yew, and the Plague Beast Lord puzzle. Would it be too much to ask how you figured out the cure to the trees, and for a recantation of the story? -Kodoz I will have to be honest in this section of time within the game was when I was really in tough shape with the realworld illness....I helped point members who called me on the phone but Balandar, Alium and the Elves along with Ser Brightblade, Lora (during and before she joined guild), Greg, Wolf, Martok along with others solved this puzzle directly. I cannot take much credit and one of them should actually answer this question better than I can. This event success was a great example of the TEAM (Good of the Many working) all pitching in successfully......even in the smallest help. I did chuckly though in bed when I heard someone's dead body was disolved by the beast ehhehe Nasty lil bonus....loot ended up adding to the loot of the monster....man that was a nasty wrinkle *wink wink* -Borg
  14. Of course you can; We are family regardless of the tag you wear by your name. Brother i have called you and that is how i see you; our prayers and thoughts are with you always friend. And i doubt anyone would say different...
  15. basically if your a mage dont let it touch you, if your a necro warrior do blood oath, paladin warriors do consecrate and enemy of one, run every time you get hit (at 70 phys i believeit does 55 dmg, not certain on that its been a while )
  16. Sounds like it should work for me. *wonders if a party will be thrown or a trap will be set for his return*
