  1. I've been seriously considering scrapping my shaman. She happens to be my oldest character (and my first Hordie, so technically it's my "old" main), but the motivation to continue her is just...not there. I'm seriously thinking of remaking it into a priest, since I never played a full-scale healing class before. ...and don't say spec healadin. Or I will take you to Snapple, where they will eat you.
  2. Wow, that was cool. Music kinda killed the mood, but that's what the mute icon is for I'd love to know how to reanimate the WoW models like that...it'd definitely motivate me into trying 3D animation again. *dusts off his Maya discs*
  3. *gives Nawt a big hug* There are some very cruel-hearted folks out there, Nawt. Keep your chin up, and I'm sure something good will come of it all!

  5. A new change in the PTR - http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=31435.0 Worth-while because of the awesome helmet changes, but the rep grinds are now a LOT less /wristcut-prone. Click the link to see new item changes. Looks like Bloodsail Admirals will be everywhere now (doh!), Furbolgs will be genocide victims again, and now there's more motivation than ever to run old stuff. Some numbers I got from the General forums: MC: Molten Giant, Ancient Core Hounds, Lava Surger, and Firelord - 20 rep Molten Destroyer and Lava Pack - 40 rep MC Bosses - 100 rep Golemagg the Incinerator - 150 rep Ragnaros - 200 rep ZG: Trash Mobs- 5 rep Speakers Mobs- 20 rep High Priests - 100 rep Bloodlord Mandokir/Jin'do the Hexxer - 200 rep Edge of Madness Bosses - 25 rep Gahz'ranka - 100 rep Hakkar - 400 rep Think these are the expected numbers a fresh L60 player used to see. Hurry up Blizz so I can host more Classic Crap runs!
  6. Minor bump, but I figure I'd post this for folks still interested in building their own one-handed cattle-prod: By Maaven:
  7. Boink. New PTR build...if you potential DK tanks are saving money for a craftable weapon, you may wanna glance over these patch notes: http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=31072.0 Pics of the new DK weapons: http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images...eeldefender.jpg - Lots of Defense. http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images...eldeflector.jpg - Lots of Parry. The class changes just reek of "arena". Fel puppies that heal? Nerfed D&D Glyph? /chinrub
  8. No harm done in taking a break from the madness. I'll always be around if you need me to faceroll something, or simply lend an ear
  9. It appears Bornakk is a damned idiot. Upon doing some research on ArenaJunkies.com, I got good news & bad news: The good? Items can be bought via just Honor and/or Heroic badges. The bad? Well, I will let this list I found speak for itself: Time for fun with math...and I may be a bit off. If so, pardon my brain. I also did not check the above "vendors" yet...might not sell them till 3.0.8 hits. So... ...an entire "blue" 5-piece set is roughly 52,800 honor and 1525 AP total if you play in an active team. But if you don't have a team and want to farm via Honor only? 280,000 Honor points total. No Marks needed from what I could see. Like PvE? 195 Emblems of Heroism for the blue set, and 195 Emblems of Valor for the next set up. This is supposed to be Blizzard's idea of fun?
  10. The Bindings still do according to Wowhead & the Armory. Which leaves me puzzled. As dated as it is, it'd be cool to see a DK or two running around with everyone's favorite orange lightning rod.
  11. Happy birthday ! Here's a LOLCat to brighten your birthday Don't hamfist me if it's not your favorite flavor >.>
  12. http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xm...e&n=Dragoth Very fascinating if you ask me.
  13. Noticeable differences between 25 and 10 man. Many of these fights resemble 40-man Naxx from many moons ago in terms of mechanics and group composition, but some stay the same between difficulties save for big numbers. Abom: Patchwerk - -How Hateful Strike Works in Heroic Mode: ~It's only viable targets are the top three people on his aggro list. Having about 28k-30k HP buffed is a must. ~Hateful Strike will hit the person with the highest HP among those 3 people. It will not hit the MT. Healers need to go batsh1t. ~53625 to 56375 damage before mitigation. The average "soak" will take 23k damage per swing. MT takes roughly 9000+ a hit. ~The Strike will add aggro to EVERYONE it hits, ensuring HS will always hit the #2 & #3 person in melee range (again, using Omen can easily verify this).DPS can still pull very easily if they aren't careful. ~You're still racing the clock. Can you burn 13 million HP in 6 minutes? Grobbulus - No change. But more people = more risk towards "blowing up" the raid. RUN! Gluth - Gluth gains an AoE Fear every 20 seconds. Zombie Chow comes in pairs. Tremor totems next to your kiting path are a massive help. Thaddius - "Now YOU feel pain!!" Exactly the same, but a monster 30 million HP means no one can noob up polarity shifts...especially with a 6-minute scythe dangling over the raid's heads. Study the drawing up there, and most importantly: MOVE! DK: Razuvious - Four adds instead of two...just like at L60. No obedience crystals to save you. It's recommended to have two priests MC Understudies and trade taunts like before, but MC DPS is reduced due to no Blood Strike...just Shield Wall & Taunt. Offtank the other Understudies, and use them as reserves for when the initial pair die early. ~The priests doing MC will need 6% Spell Hit rating, because each Death Knight Understudy is level 82. This will eliminate Miss chance and the chances to break early (except channeling interruptions due to loose mobs). 6% spell hit is 157.39 rating at level 80. Stock up on +hit food if needed! Gothik - Waves spawn at a faster pace. He comes down at the same time. No changes. Horsemen - Same fight, but considerable damage boost, and very long depending on DPS. Thane can easily cause early wipes via meteor splash damage. Remember: you can run along the outer edge for positioning sakes. Plague: Noth - He will Blink (25 second cooldown, will use any time he pleases. DPS must be very careful!!), causing a 100% aggro wipe. Each time he blinks, the spot he comes from debuffs nearby players with Cripple. Curse now affects 10 people and is a primary wipe-causer. Each emote he does ("Rise my soldiers!") now calls three adds instead of two. When he's on the balcony, four skellies per wave will appear instead of two. Plagued Champions (melee skellies) now use a spell called "Shadow Shock", which does 2960 to 3440 Shadow damage to all raid members within 25 yards. Spreading out is more important than ever! Heigan - Exactly the same. Study the dance, or this fight WILL take forever due to his colossal HP pool. As in 9.2 million HP "colossal". Whoa. Loatheb - Exactly the same, but a larger raid will place the tank in serious danger due to Inevitable Doom becoming unhealable as the battle drags out. Share those spores! Spider: Anub - Two crypt guards join the fight. I hope you have a lot of AoE to handle all those Corpse Scarabs. Faerlina - Six adds total: Two Followers, four Worshippers. An exact replica of the fight @ L60. Followers must be OT'd far away from healers due to an AoE silence and killed ASAP. Worshippers are handled as follows: ~Faerlina Enrages. Hits about as hard as Patchwerk during these few seconds. ~A priest MC's a Worshipper. Here's hoping you remembered to boost +hit rating. ~Once enraged, the Worshipper gets close to Faerlina and uses Widow's embrace. The Worshipper automatically dies, but Faerlina calms down for 1 minute and is silenced for 30 seconds, just like the 10-man version. ~After 1 minute, she Enrages again. MC, Embrace, repeat. Don't attack the Worshippers. They are squishy like pillow. ~If your DPS is blind and doesn't know what to do in terms of add control: kill the stuff WITHOUT a mana bar (Followers)! Maexxna - Web Wrap now affects two players, and damage is more dangerous. A badly timed post-Enrage Web Stun WILL kill your tank! Sapphiron - Ice Block affects three people when he's airborne. Life Drain affects five people instead of two. Nothing new aside. Kel'thuzad: P1 - Zerg zombies. Nothing new. P2 - He gains a trick from the L60 days: Pally bubble, PvP trinkets, Cloak and Ice Block will not save you. P3 - Four Guardians appear instead of two. This is pretty much the "hurry up" indicator.
  14. Rise, my sticky-threads! Rise and bump once more! >.> Here's a profile for my DK (it's a bit lengthy): Hikoria Fargleam Appearance/Personality: She is roughly 107 years of age (Quel'dorei years), just shy of adulthood compared to her older sister, Holyssa. In her prior life, her skin complexion was somewhat dark due to all the time she spent in the outdoors training to become a Ranger, and had developed an amazingly swift spring in her step as a result of training every morning in Eversong. Family and friends would refer to Hikoria as the "rabbit", while the once lazy and carefree Holyssa was jokingly called "the turtle", who always failed to catch up to her sister when challenged to friendly races around Silvermoon. Unlike her sister's platinum hair color, Hikoria inherited a few shades of red from her father's genes, and is roughly an inch and a half taller than her sibling. Because of this, many confuse Hikoria for being the older of the pair. As a Death Knight, her skin is cold and pale due to the everlasting effects of the plague, her once dark and rich hair now sheet-white. Her once athletic frame had lost a considerable amount of weight, but the unholy power she has gained control over has done well to compensate for this. Five small, tightly stitched holes are scattered along her abdomen, and a more noticeable hole can be seen on the side of her throat from a barrage of arrows, which had brought about her original demise. In terms of personality, Hikoria remains surprisingly cheerful and jubilant even after wresting free of the Lich King's control, and wastes no time in trying to impress or out-do her older sibling. She is very fond of collecting robes, and has gone through the trouble of rebuilding and cleaning her Acherus Knight training garments. Hikoria's biggest flaw happens to be her fear of crows, having been knocked out of a high tree branch by one during archery training. Past: Hikoria and Holyssa once trained side-by-side as archers, but Holyssa eventually grew tired of the effort needed behind the skill, and quickly fell behind her younger sibling, much to their parents' dismay. Shortly after the fall of Silvermoon at the hands of Arthas, the sisters fell into a depressed, magic-craved slump, quietly refusing to follow Kael'thas's pipe-dream of a paradise beyond the Dark Portal while their beloved home was in disarray. Hearing news of Dalaran's destruction (where their parents traveled to so their father could train in the magic arts) made matters even worse. The royal guard had called for any able-bodies to deliver supplies to the newly set up Forsaken base at Tranquellien. As the pair made their way south with a group of volunteers and soldiers, a Scourge assault party launched a surprise attack. Hikoria was the first to fall, having blocked a barrage of infected arrows from striking down her older sister. Help had just barely arrived for the group, and the Scourge were forced to retreat, but it was too late for the young Sin'dorei, who died just moments before medics could get to her at the Forsaken camp. No more than a few days after her burial, the Cult of the Damned were performing nightly grave-robberies across Quel'thalas and Lordaeron in search of infected or stable corpses to use for the latest phase in the Scourge's plans. Hikoria's body was delivered to Icecrown along with hundreds of fallen soldiers, and reconstructed at the Fleshwerks, then brought under the icy grasp of the Lich King himself along with an army of potential Death Knight candidates. It did not take long for her to be chosen for the assault team at Acherus. Her prior training and reflexes from her archery days gave her a decent advantage, and the mere thought of tearing people apart innocent with her new Runeblade made the young Blood Elf grin with ecstasy. At the Battle of Light's Hope Chapel, Hikoria stood alongside the other Death Knights, and felt as if she were in paradise as she killed so many Argent Protectors. Many innocent bystanders and militia also joined the fray, one among them being her older sister. When the two locked eyes on the chaos-littered grassland, Holyssa was terrified at what the Scourge had done to her beloved sibling, but had no choice but to relieve her of her suffering after failing to reason with her through the Lich King's control. The pair clashed head-to-head, and neither had an advantage over the other: Holy had trained hard as a Blood Knight under the watchful eyes of Lady Liadrin's order, and Hikoria was ready to beat her back with the newly acquired powers of darkness. With broken weapons, shattered armor, and dwindling magic on both ends, the two had reach a point where it was a platemail fist-fight. Using the last ounce of power within her, a pair of golden wings sprouted from Holy's back, using whatever energy she had left to try and score once last blow and end this mess in either a win or a loss. Suddenly, a bright light flashed in the distance as Tirion Fordring dealt a critical blow to the Lich King with the cleansed Ashbringer, releasing the mindless grip he held over the Knights of Acherus. Hikoria had regained control over herself, but the timing could not have been any worse: the first thing her eyes would bear witness to would be Holyssa's Lightbringer-armored knuckles colliding with her face. The force of the blow had sent Hikoria a good few yards backwards - she did not have time to react after finally breaking free of the Lich King's spell. Holyssa herself collapsed in exhaustion on the field, the last words echoing in their ears being Tirion's speech far in the distance. Among other minor injuries the elves dealt to one another, Hikoria suffered a minor concussion, and Holyssa's right hand was wrapped in thick bandaging. The two laid within an Argent Dawn medical tent side-by-side. Holy was the first to open her eyes, seeing the pale knight sobbing uncontrollably: "What have they done to you...how...?" Hikoria tiredly answers, "I'm not sure...for so long, everything was dark. His voice was all I could hear." The younger Sin'dorei curled her legs in front of her chest, shaking uncontrollably. "I could see the faces of all those people I killed, but I couldn't stop. No matter how much I wanted to scream, my lips would not move...what have I done?" The Blood Knight blinked twice, then achingly rose to tightly embrace her long-lost sibling. "The voice will stop." She whispered. "...I will do whatever it takes, to silence it forever." Present: Currently she is traveling close by Holy's side, having recently been allowed into the ranks of the Skullcrushers. The two can occasionally be seen training together in the Outlands, and she eagerly awaits the day when they can fight side-by-side in the snows of Northrend as a family.
  15. *Cookie Monster voice* KEL'THUZAD MAKE HOLYSSA HIS AVATAR OF WAR~! */facerolls mountains of undead* Oh yea, that's me in the Christmas getup. /waggle
  16. By Bornakk: So yeah. If you want even the basic set pieces, looks like you'll need to buddy up with some Arena people :\ And while not Arena related, here's a list of new stuff you can buy soon via Wintergrasp Marks of Honor. This isn't live yet, and is subject to change after the PTR goes bye-bye, but I figure it'd give people a reason to run Wintergrasp more and save those marks: http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=30117.0 TLDR version: New helmets (they have meta sockets) cost 40 Marks, new boots (yellow sockets) cost 15 Marks. Both trinkets cost 25 Marks (although it's odd how the caster version has zero Resilience)
  17. I think I died a little on the inside o_o; No snow for us still....this morning we got pelted with frozen rain, which is turning into mush on the already slippery roads. Ugh...
  18. Ooh, pretty! At least you have snow. We have ice puddles, rain, and unusual bouts of mugginess. The one time we DID get snow, it melted the next day. WTB snow angels
  19. Very cool change to old-school stuff in the next patch! By Daelo: I likey. Now people can try their hand at soloing Rend and pals, plus finish Tier 0.5 set quests (which count towards Kalimdor Loremaster stuff). No more long hikes to Azshara for those damn MC water jugs! EDIT: Not my pics, but here's the "new" Maraudon stick: http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1875/wo...08161058dm7.jpg And the new Mallet (no graphic yet, but then again, it's...a hammer). No level requirement seems kinda odd. Maybe Blizzard will fix this before twinks go bats. http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/9858/wo...08161120pw9.jpg
  20. That didn't take very long, but here's mirrors for those who wanna test stuff: http://a.wirebrain.de/wow/ (pretty legit site that has mirrored patches in the past). Notes: http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=29837.0 I figure I'd post this because some new Achievements are out that will most likely make a few of your wallets cry blood. No better time to stock up like the present, huh? Those new dragonhawks are cool, but sweet Raptor Jesus...100 mounts and companions for the new Achievements? I thought getting just 50 was a pain in the arse. Time to hit up ZG and Heroic Sethekk/MgT again -_-. Loremaster of Kalimdor got nerfed: from 700 down to 685 quests for the Horde, from 730 to 700 quests for the Alliance. Ouch. BS weapons got nerfed. Dunno the exact numbers yet. Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted! Our hooved friends can jump for joy now Mmm....Levitate & Slow Fall usable on others. I can live with the Sacred Duty changes...nothing wrong with having even MORE health EDIT: Oops. Fixed Kalimdor Loremaster numbers.
  21. https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/cha...tion-intro.html (Link to Blizz's Customization intro. Needs your WoW account/Authenticator info to login & view). I bolded the important bits. So yea...whether it's a gender-bender (lawl), or that awesome tan you just perfected by AFK'ing in Tanaris for too long, you can go the extra mile for $15.
  22. Just chucking in my 2 copper about how the 10-man Naxx felt based on our experiences these past few nights. Abom: Patchwerk - First 95%? Zzzzz..... Last 5%? IT BURNS! Overall not a bad encounter, and he went up like a Roman candle within a minute of the enrage timer (I think). Grobbulus - Great Caesar's ghost! Very overtuned for what was once a loot pinata. With 10 people and a LOT of poison crap to dodge, this was a very worthwhile attention-span test that kept the me on my toes, and teach people that cleansing crap ASAP isn't always a bright idea. His pathing seemed very awkward, however... Gluth - Very easy from a tank perspective, then again we had awesome Zombie Chow kiting. Devastate can have some scary timing, though. Thaddius - There's a 3rd part of the encounter some of us failed at, and it's the Platform Jump Monster. Otherwise, not that bad once Polarities stack properly and people know where to go. Very exciting fight when done properly, but one death can severely gimp things. DK: Razuvious - With good coordination (and a LOT of practice between Harne and I), this can be surprisingly easy and the Understudies can take a major beating. Gothik- Nothing special here. It's all about add control. Imagine the room as if it were a balance scale, where things get hairy if one side is overloaded too quickly. Gothik himself was a pushover. Horsemen - Another coordination fight, but far less of a clusterf*ck that was the L60 version. Pretty much everyone has an important role here at some point, and can be a great test of "tank" teamwork. Plague: Noth - A little AoE and a lot of decursing. The fact that he doesn't Blink in the 10-man made him even simpler. Heigan- Study the Dance, for the love of Harne's mom. There's tutorials Even I nubbed it up somewhat due to a very fuzzy memory and a pinch of lag. Loatheb - Love teh spores, and time your heals. Total pushover once we got the timing right. Spider: Anub - Not much different, but corpse scarabs can get annoying. Faerlina - Aside from a few close calls with adds & the Enrage, it's a fairly easy fight even without MC. Her adds are soft like pillows, and it's almost too easy to screw up with excess AoE. Maexxna - OH GOD SPIDERS! Not a bad fight, but the lengthy final 30% will make any tank's spine tingle. I luv our healers. Sapphiron - Minimal frost resist needed here...just need to stay away from Blizzard, learn to hide behind frozen people, and it's just an endurance fight. Kel'thuzad - (Will fill in later - Sapphiron died just before our bed time >.<). EDIT: Found this on the WoW forums, and I'm absolutely baffled at the level of execution. Can't kill 25-man Razuvious with priests? Use hunters, like these guys did. http://files.filefront.com/Razuviousavi/;1...;/fileinfo.html
  23. Yup, although with so few people having seen Archimonde (outside of Cal/Bar's old raid), Illidan and Kil'jaedan (who is still pretty tough even at L80 for a new group), I'm most likely going to include those instances into the equation. I'll most likely run them on a one week per-month basis, and if people have DK alts that want to come (L68+ only please!), it would be a great opportunity for them to get some leveling items. Of course, I haven't forgotten the really old stuff like MC -> AQ40. Happy Birthday!
