Many blue posts today reacting to the nerfs. Oh, Lake Wintergrasp is now Lake LOLgrasp long before it even hits Live. Why? Joy.

Last night was awesome guys! Nothing feels more exciting than hamfisting 3 bosses in one night with minimal trouble, one of which was a totally new experience to many of us. Little tips for when we tackle Kael's Candy Factory next week: - Grab sunglasses. If you hate pink/purple colored architecture, this place will be a true test of your patience as well as your tolerance to vomit-colored wallpaper. - Please don't break CC if you can help it. There's a lot of pulls in TK which are much more unforgiving than SSC when you spank the sheep/traps, especially the first pulls leading to Al'ar. - Bring your Violet Eye trinkets. They make damage reduction on Void Reaver (and some robotic trash) very tolerable, but not 100% necessary if you heed the "Stay out of Bad Sh1t" rule. - I second Waldy's recommendation: download the alarm addon he linked, as most typical boss mods alone are far too subtle when it comes to warning people about Solarian's bomb debuff. The first time it's full of epic lulz, but NOT when you take out half the raid by not moving out of harms way. - Use this script to max out your camera distance for VR. If you have difficulty spotting the orbs, it can be somewhat handy. /script SetCVar ("cameraDistancemax" ,50) Try to pan your camera up so you can see the orbs coming from his head. The orbs will not change course when launched, so remember to keep moving if you think you're going to get toasted. Tunnel vision is terribad here for you casters. - Healing in Solarian can be tricky since she constantly swaps targets like Shade of Aran. This macro is nice if you don't like to play Simon with click-healing mods: #showtooltip /tar [nomod] High Astromancer Solarian /clearfocus [modifier][target=focus, dead] /focus [target=focus, noexists][dead] /stopmacro [target=focus, noexists][dead] /cast [target=focustarget] Lesser Healing Wave /targetlasttarget It allows you to focus on Solarian, but clicking it will heal her primary focus target. It's a nice "oh crap" button for saving super-soft people. Oh, obviously replace Lesser Healing Wave with your most preferred spell.

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but there's been a flood of VERY NSFW stuff in the sub-sections above us, some of which probably contains very nasty surprises. Are measures being taken to snuff out these spambots before they plague the other areas of the forums? Just remember to watch what you click folks. With the expansion/patch weeks away, maggots of all kinds will be attempting to steal your info. And I highly suggest you keep checking the page which sells Blizzard Authenticators. They've been re-stocked a LOT more frequently than when they first appeared.

Sick of dressing your loved ones or kids as Batman, Pokemon, or random under-worldly creatures? Let 'em celebrate this year dressed as Saurfang. http://www.buycostumes.com/browse/_/N-/Ntt...t/results1.aspx I can't help but lol at the model they used for the Blood Elf kit. The tauren mask looks very constipated (not to mention silly-expensive). The lack of draenei or gnomish kits disappoint me, but give em time and all kinds of wacky stuff is bound to pop up. The month is just beginning

This build number *crushes her Brewfest goggles* ...I'm sorry. It had to be done! My god. This. Build. Sucks. A$$. Give your local Holy pally a big hug next time you see him/her...the Divine Plea changes are a f*cking joke, and nearly insta-cast Holy Light went bye-bye. Perhaps they fear pallies being (GADZOOKS) useful in their precious e-sport? /sigh Poor shammies...not only did Maelstrom get it's knees capped, but you guys lose a LOT of hit rating. Stormstrike is now plain ol' Nature damage again, and flurry is...oh damn I'll just say it: what the f*ck is Blizzard doing?? It's like giving a child that toy firetruck he always wanted for Christmas, then suddenly taking it away and saying "Oh that's too fancy. Here, have this Hot Wheels miniature instead! It's just like it, see?" Oh, say bye-bye to putting CoD on a squirrel in an attempt to summon a hooved friend. Since when did Living Bomb make people pregnant? I'm gonna use protection when flying in Northrend from now on. >.>

Update with the new Beta build: Varimathras actually looks scary now. Maybe other in-game dreadlords (Balnazzar, Rakh'likh, etc.) will receive the same face lift? Alextrasza in her "human" form. Looks like re-touched Sylvanas art, but the horns are a very pretty touch.
-
Damn, fuzzybutt beat me to it. At least people won't have to spend ages trying to catch up and get PvP gear for the future...brain cancer sounds more fun than doing WSG/Arathi over again x_x

No BT?! *does the Dr. Zoidberg scream* That's awesome. Congratulations on the new arrival!Does this mean we get to call you Papa Draegloth?

Holyssa will still have my undying love and attention. The changes to tankadins, while radical and life-altering to a degree, are something that I have grown quickly used to and adapted to long in advance. Even with all the wacky transformations she has undergone in Beta, the things Blizzard provided for the spec and class have renewed my love for the plate face-roller. I'll definitely try a DK out for PvP's sakes, but not till long after Holy blasts to 80 and learns as much about Northrend as possible. Yea, there's still Beta, but it's a lot more fun to explore the frozen unknown with guildies and allies when the content is complete, as opposed to a ret pally named "Icriturpants" who keeps going AFK every 5 seconds because mom told him to clean his goddamn room, or get out of the basement for supper. >.> My alts will receive similar love, but I'm stopping once the DK is leveled up...too many ways to kill boredom, not enough time in the day.

There can only be one way to deal with such an abominable mess...

Spotted several threads about this on the WoW general forums. And this site (don't worry, it's safe despite the Chinese domain name) shows the same pics, but with Capcom's name all over the place. Looks pretty legit with the whole Blizzard copyright blurb on the bottom, but if it's fake - someone did their homework (to a degree - a Season 4 mace off of an eel??). The style reminds me of the ol' Vandal Hearts strategy games, but...Forsaken should not be so happy like that. Unless they are eating people. Then it's cool. But seriously...WTF is this?
-
Lots of new artwork in this Beta build... DK Gryphons got a facelift. Literally. Why is it's head so HUGE? Least it doesn't resemble a devoured turkey (as much). Sylvanas...I think I love you. No more bimbo Night Elf look. Gadzooks, it's Mitsurugi! Although from the front, he looks unusually stout. Blizzard fails at neck fat. http://www.mindflay.nl/Files/Pictures/Alexstrasza1.jpg Alexstrasza looks magnificent! A very fitting form for the Life-Binder, and I love how dragons finally learned to /sit. Maybe our own drakes can sit one day too and rest their bums? One can hope. Since the pic is somewhat related to the Wrathgate event, I didn't wanna spoil the surroundings. Copy-pasta it. The Nesingwary 4k is now the ugliest gun I have ever seen. Smells like Halo art to me. Oh, while not art related, shamans have a new reason to masturbate furiously: Stat totems now serve as summoning totems. MOAR BAG SPACE!

Archimonde will be a deeply missed challenge, now that we have it down pretty easily (lag and bad luck aside). *hugs her new Tempest of Chaos* Great work folks!!!

By Eyonix: And more disturbing news by Vaneras of Europe: EDIT: The new "special items" are unveiled! Seems to be cloaks & more powerful Battlemaster trinkets: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...52440&sid=1

http://www.chardev.org Other calculators/build editors will probably follow, but this is (as far as I know) the only site with PTR stat values enabled for a character builder. Bear in mind it has some bugs, and PTR stats are not set in stone, but it'll give you a general idea of what to expect with the next patch's gear changes.

Again, subject to change due to it being Beta and all. Click the colored item names for Wowhead filters (though some items snuck in there which don't belong, such as the head enchant. Oops). By Koraa: This reminds me of the days when Dwarves were super imba because of Fear Ward, yet not many rolled them for fashion's sakes, or because Blizzard favored Alliance (*COUGH*Fall of Humanity*COUGH*). Speaking of Alliance... By Vaneras: Shadowmeld is now what Fall used to be (a stupid aggro "pause" button), Humans get a free PvP "trinket", and it's only a matter of time before Blizzard unleashes it's latest surprise for Fall's replacement racial. They basically gave humans the ol' Orc racial, but without the healing penalty. What on earth is the matter with these people?

HUWAAAAA~!! *headbutt's topic* Sorry for the bump, but with the changes to 3.0 tankadin gear, threat will scale rather oddly compared to current endgame for us pallies. I added a nice Threat gear spreadsheet I stumbled onto which serves as a nice last-minute shopping list.

List of new talent changes as of Beta 8926: /chinrub Blizzard clearly is trying to remove a lot of bloat from the tree, but again - it still suffers from too many GOOD talents to allow any deep hybrid playability. Let's have a look at the talents based on Tiers (rows). Tier 1: What the f*ck is this sh*t? People asked for Kings to be baseline (NOT a complicated decision). Instead, it is split into two talents. The strength boost is very nice though with the upcoming gear changes. Tier 2: Anticipation is still mandatory here. The rest are still PvP or healer hybrid talents in my eyes. Tier 3: Nothing new here. Still two must-have talents for any smart tankadin. Tier 4: We can't stop here...this is bat...err, PvP country! Skip these talents as usual for a heavy tanking build. It's still hybrid/PvP stuff. Tier 5: Reckoning now procs off of Blocked attacks, but only if you fill in all 5 points...not sure if this is a bug. Then again, if you skipped Stoicism, it's kind of a "stump" in the road that many will be forced into taking even for only 1 point. The changes to Sanctuary make it a must-have now, but if you have extra points to blow and don't want Reckoning (due to too much avoidance and the talent simply refusing to proc), you'll have to use your head here. Tier 6: Sacred Duty hasn't been touched, but 1H Weapon Spec now does twice the damage, up from 5%. PWNSAUCE! Tier 7: Bai bai Improved Holy Shield - this is where the bloated stuff becomes consolidated into older talents. Holy Shield now offers 8 charges from the get-go, an amazing change! 10 was a bit excessive unless you WANTED to tank the entire castle with one pull, and on most boss fights you barely use all 8 charges anyway. Tier 8: Redoubt and Shield Spec did the Fusion Dance, and are now a 3 point talent. Incredible! But Combat Expertise is now a mere 3 points as well, which results in losing 4% stamina. Kind of understandable given the new spellpower changes, but it's nothing clever itemization can't correct. Tier 9: More consolidated talents: Spell Warding and Guarded by the Light are now molded into one...very smart change considering how often people ignored SW to get to the tree's better talents. Tier 10: Nothing new here. Tier 11: We lose the heuge threat boost from HotW, but it's still a formidable DPS talent. The rule hasn't changed: find a slow weapon, see big numbers. Overall, they addressed a lot of the bloating problems in the tree, and the minor loss to stamina can be overlooked. With the current state of the tree, people can go with a cookie-cutter build that utilizes all of the important talents (read: everything from Tier 6 down), yet still have just enough extra points to muck with a Holy or Ret hybrid build for that extra touch of utility. Here's what I came up with: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin=05...011251533312321 Here's a general L70 build. You can also put 5 points into Deflection as opposed to Benediction, but I'd only recommend it if mitigation is a problem for your tankadin: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin=05...011251533312301 A fairly standard build, with 3 Points leftover can be put into... -Deflection (for avoidance) -Unyielding Faith (to help teach those crazy warlocks a thing or two when PvPing with friends) -Healing Light (+12% healing when taking on elites is a huge help!) -Improved Blessing of Might (Tankadins usually use Kings or Sanctuary when alone for survival, but this will make for some very happy raiders that lack a Ret paladin) Holy likey very much! Happy Birthday!

Q: How much will it cost me to upgrade my professions above 375? A: 35g to upgrade Primary Professions (Blacksmithing, Alchemy, etc.), and 100g to upgrade secondaries (First Aid, Cooking, Fishing). Q: Where did all of my pets and mounts go? A: Under the Character Tab is a new entry labeled "Pets", split into two subcategories: Companions (those little friends people show off for flair, like Mojo), and Mounts (these include mounts purchased from faction vendors, summoned rides, and flying creatures). When you acquire a new pet or mount, you click it and "learn" how to call it as if it were a spell. You then enter one of the new tabs mentioned above, and drag the newly learned ability to your hotbar. Q: Does Dalaran have an Auction House? A: Nope, for similar reasons as to why Shattrath lacks one: Blizzard still intents on having players return to the old lands so they still have some degree of life left in them, and to promote trade within the original cities. On the other hand, Dalaran does include banks, guild storage, trainers, Arena/PvP Battlemasters, and portals to every faction city (including Shattrath). Q: Are Alliance and Horde able to level side-by-side in the Death Knight starting areas? A: Nope. As odd as it may look, the two factions are kept in separate "instances", most likely to prevent the factions from duking it out. You won't actually encounter someone from the opposite side of the faction fence until you finish the starting area's chains, and enter Eastern Plaguelands. Q: Can I still do BC quests for gold & experience? A: Yes, but because you will no longer be at the level cap upon WotLK's launch, the rewards pale in comparison to doing quests in the new land. Go to Northrend, do stuff, and you'll see a fairly considerable jump (some quests on average giving about 6g & 20,000XP per step!). Q: How do Crushing Blows work in the expansion? A: You can now only become Crushed by a monster four levels above your own. Raid bosses (displayed as L??) are still considered three levels above your own. Q: How do I use my flying mount in Northrend? A: At L77, a quest was previously available to players which would "unlock" the ability. Currently there is a trainer in Dalaran offering to teach players Cold Weather Flying for a fee of 950g. Don't let the money sink scare you though. It is rather easy to make said amount via the first four levels of Northrend questing alone!
