While I do not have a pure Espionage character developed...........one of the skills (begging) is on one of my characters and is very very high........when (prays to GODS weekly at least) beggars begin to gain rare items instead of gold (shopkeeps should rather give you items instead of gold).....I will be working him alot to gain the house of Espionage items to raise funds thru or hold events with. I am sure once we start the development/reporting phase of the DREAD COHORT......your door will be busy.

  11. Vesper, a port of call for many a traveler and journeyman looking for wares to barter; had a shocking discovery last weekend. It appeared that a wolf had slain a child returning from the Busy Bee home; which stirred the a few local hunters to seek out the wolf and bring justice to the childs grieving parents. For 2 nights attempts the hunters found fresh tracks and leftover carcasses from animals torn apart; they seemed right on the heals of the wolf. It continued to elude them with occassional howls in the distance seeming to urge them on further. Each night turned to day and as the sun rose the trail grew cold. As the hunters returned to Vesper from their pursuit that had taken them nearly to Britains city limits, they were heckled by a mad man who lived on the edge of the swamps. "ye never will find what ye seek if what ye seek is never in your mind to find" The hunters scoffed at the old coot and continued home to Vesper. Jon the healer from Vesper rounded the bend and as he past the hunters he said he was traveling to Britain to verify some tests he had been conducting on the remains of the child. He implored the men not to venture out until he returned with his results. The hunters finished thier journey back to Vesper and took rooms in the Inn to rest and wait the return of the Healer. Jon quickened his lama's step and soon was within the city of Britain and headed straight for Britainia Animal Care. Once inside he asked the local Vetrinarian to check the samples of blood to see if he could identify the species they came from. After a few tests he verified that the blood was human; but what was also verified was that the saliva was mainly human with traces of canine qualities. This was the confirmation that Jon had sought and he quickly took the reports and headed back to Vesper. The day had grown late and the evening mist had just begun to settle across the swamp that now sat ominously ahead of Jon. As he spurred on his lama he could never remember a night where he could hear so many small noises that caused him so much fright. Onward he ventured through the swamp and again passed the mad man's small shack. There he sat on the steps tending to a flight of arrows and bow. "Did ye find what your mind did not seek....hhehehehe"? the mad man laughed Spurring on the lama now into nearly a full gallop Jon pressed out of the swamps and into the now darkness of the woodlands heading to Vesper. Suddenly a great howl broke through the treeline coming from directly ahead of Jon. Jon stopped and listened but now there were no sounds whatsoever to be heard...not even a night cricket. Onward he commenced.....then from now behind him again the howl broke the silence. Again Jon quickened the lama's pace. AGAIN the howl broke the night air but this time directly beside them in the bushes seeming to match their journey equally in direction and pace. The lama began to struggle to maintain the gallop and just as Jon looked down and gave his companion a pat of reassurance he was jolted from the lama. Slamming onto the ground and up against a tree; Jon sat up and gathering his bearings looked back to the path to see a huge wolf tearing vast chunks of flesh from his lama's carcass. As Jon moved to attempt to stand a terrible pain pulsed from his back. He reached around to feel the warmth of his own blood now covering his hand. Again he tried to stand but the pain was too great and he began to tend his wound...all while keeping an eye on the beast now nearly finished with his lama. As Jon finished his dressing he stood and gained the attention of the beast which now seemed to be ready for a second helping. As the beast began to slowly step over the remains of the Lama it was struck broadside by two arrows and then a third and fourth. The beast turned and glanced up the road and then as if it was not even damaged bolted into the brush and was gone. The hunting party had been tracking the beast and luckily for Jon now had saved him from becoming the second course meal. Injured and weak Jon was taken back to Vesper and healers began to tend his wounds. The wounds would not heal and Jon broke into a fever and hives. The healers could not remedy the injury and Jon seemed to be falling into a coma. The healers gathered outside and told the hunters they were at a loss for what he was afflicted by. Then like a crack of lightning the door of the healers Blasted off its hinges claiming the life of the one healer standing near it....out blasted a huge wolf with a flaming blood red coat of fur. The beast snapped at the hunters spears and then bolted toward the bridge. The hunters gathered their tools of trade and took after him. Through the city they chased him until the last bridge to the mainland they began to cross. The giant wolf stopped dead center of the bridge and the hunters stopped at their end and took up a position. Across to the other side of the bridge, to their amazement, was the mad man of the swamp! He stood in alone with a single arrow that glistened in the moonlight as if made of all metal. The great wolf howled and then began to charge the mad man and as it took a final stride it launched itself at the mad man. The mad man let fly his arrow and it hit true to the center of the chest of the great beast......causing it to collapse at the madman’s feet. The hunters stood a moment in awe then bolted to the other side of the bridge. There they found the mad man laughing again. "Now you mind what ye see and see what ye seek" ranted the mad man as he turned and began to walk back to Britain mumbling more. "Healer do you no good, no good a healer can do" The hunters looked up and watched as the mad man now disappeared into the night; then looked down at their feet.....Jon the healer lay naked and dead with a silver arrow through his heart. Nearby hanging on the lamppost at the end of the bridge they found Jon's backpack. Opening it they found the test results from Britain noting the canine and human blend of fluids evidence. Across the page was scribbled in mad fashion. "Where’s the wolf" "the wolf is here" were the wolf werewolf Werewolf WEREWOLF! *closes storybook* Colin Mor Now then.....if ye be a wise man and take this lore with heed......if ye get bit by a blood red wolf .....seek not a healer but seek a Veterinarian for a grandmaster of Animal lore and Animal Healing may be your only hope......less ye find your end at the point or blade of a silver weapon. *smiles and winks* NOTE:this is one of a large series of enhancements for entertainment value and for dev team review....I hope you all enjoy it equally. YES this is a ROLEPLAYED way of tossing an IDEA up for discussion.....this idea is Lycanthrope Mechanics=red wolf that can only be damaged by silver weapons that utilizes poision bite that then polymorphs target into like wolf and only CURE is GM VET + GM Animal Lore OR death (which creates a RED corpse and is lootable by ANYONE) Graphics for 2D would be red wolfs........3D would be area where dev could really have fun like in pictures below. (example of McFarlans Werewolf) I choose to try and be entertaining at how I present ye all with FUN ideas for discussion.....over pure data suggestion.

    Some Items

    Okees....... I will address some current questions and restate some old reasonings that are not fully understood by our newer members. Dress Code......easy issue to clear up questions on. Q) Why do we wear purple and why is it this darker plum shade? A) Purple is the color that was generated from the 3 colors of the original founders as well as the color of HONOR. The shade of purple was chosen by the membership through a poll vote when we were continually being tagged as part of our great ally guild GoL. While in events combined over the years it was an oversight that members of PGoH would receive no note or acknowlegment from the realm and OSI for their participation....only references were to the larger GoL. While this in no means was a complaint toward GoL....we together have lead Catskills events since the very first one EVER on Catskills and we will continue to do so in the future. It is important though that the differences in the two guilds are visual as well as operational. PGoH is a roleplaying guild first and game guild second while GoL is a game guild first and roleplaying guild second. The Honor Empire is our game guild (host website larger issue) The shade of Purple was designated by its membership and I have no difficulties in renewing this vote again......I just ask you to think of "when will we have a color that will be as permanent a symbol as the GoL color is to thier great guild?" Consistency is very important in visual recognition....we need to improve on this area. Consistency is also a strong part of roleplaying and membership within the Empire. Dress code is visual means to help each other recognize and react appropriately to others roles and activities. The most important area of this code is within the Legion ranks. Within the Codex are descriptions of the 2 forms of dress for Legion units (Ceremonial and Regular)as well as notes about non Legion units. Q) Why do we have to wear the half apron? A) Again this is an example of refrence to our origin and beginnings......only Balandar (4th member after the 3 founders) was not a smith....and the 5th, Rattlehead was Catskills first ever Grandmaster smith and miner. At this point there seems to be a small confusion......while the guild began as 3 tradesmen then a mage and then a GM Smith....it is MUCH MUCH MUCH more than just a trades guild now. PGoH is structured and branched with options for virtually every role imaginable and to be easily a complete autonomous living breathing entity/civilization/city/empire. The foundation of all great empires is the supply of the defensive capability of the Empire....growth is controlled and planned and prepared for.......at its base of support is Trades and resource managment. The apron is the visual representation that we all are part of that support........supporting each other at the foundation. Citizens......(Non Legion units) -----cut from Codex------- Paragraph vi A citizen wears a white shirt, black pants, black thigh boots, leather gloves, purple apron, purple sash, and a tool of the represented house. ------- Now the key in the above is apron/sash.......common sence dictates that is your a cook.....there are not many things you can carry around to show that your a cook. Again though these attire ideas came from the decisions of the Senators long ago....having the rule of apron being the one requirement. Within the Legion ranks.......the cohort attire was determined by the Senator of War, myself, Magistrate Balandar, Greg and SerBrightblade. In discussions with the Centurions at the time the color codes and Ceremonial lists were developed. Where there is a dex issue or practicality issue the development of dyable leathers has helped improve this. Quite honestly all of the effort in Dress listings was brought about in full furry after several Shardic events were PGoH looked like the patchwork quilt of 1000s handmedowns. Members complained there was no unity to go along with our existing structure definitions.......so it was developed. Here is a pick from years ago of the Legion suited up as Gladiators for an entry to an OSI contest for advertising. Also you can see the Early versions of the Cavalry in the Gallary (on top of Lord British's Castle) and here is a part of the most recent mega shard event......also depicted in our gallery The consistancy of the allie guilds was impressive on the East side of the image.....all the same suits. GoL at the south all had at least the same cloaks.......throughout though this whole event the PGoH members were sought and it was difficult to see which was which. I hope the above helps clear up why we wear purple and why we strive to be consistent in dress attires ingame for roleplaying purposes. PGoH is a shard leader. We lead by collective good of the many acting as one....looking the part is important as well to those that do not know the history and lore. OKees 2..... Hierarchy and areas of support. There are 4 major sections of PGoH and imagine they are the 4 points of a dial (12oclock, 9oclock, 3oclock and 6oclock) Olympus Legion Senate State No matter which way you turn the dial....one is the foundation for the top one and the other two support its flanks. All revolving around HONOR Virtue. In decisions.........the Senators are the citizens voice for decisions and changes. The Council of Honor which is made up of Senators, State and Olympus Leaders collectively sort through issues and make changes or declarations as deemed necessary by the collective Council. The Emperor (me) is the tiebreaker vote or veto maker. The Praetorian Prefect is the standing "police" or enforcer of the Codex.....visualize the movie Gladiator (which heheh came out after we did har har), the Praetorians were the lawbringers and whether directed by the Emperor or asked for by the Senate....they would act to maintain the existing Codex to the letter...no discussions. They are not diplomats or polititians......they are the worst thing to deal with if you are wanting change to occur....it will not happen through them ever. Only through Senators, Governors and the Council as a whole will such change. REALIZE again....we are VERY careful to change things for over 5 and nearly 6 years we have run into many issues.....on the Council now you all should realize you have a combined 43 yrs of UO ingame roleplaying experience...NO GUILD has more experience in leadership or working with UO/OSI/EA in this online game experience. Have confidence and trust your Senators.......they are quite honestly no longer playing UO but helping run UO as an entertainment event for members of PGoH and Catskills. They have committed to you to help guide the guild in the direction that will gain the membership the greatest opportunity for adventure, reward and FUN. Senators are not "me" personalities......they are "we" and "you" personalities we....and I personally am honestly privileged to work with and in a way lucky to have met. Magistrates/Ancients/Praetorians are in the same mold. The system is built to support the growth of UO and the guild....change is not a bad thing but it always needs perspective. That perspective quite honestly cannot be seen by one or by all.........else some things would not be surprises now would they? (small evil snicker) Now with that.....within the Legion specifically.....discipline and commitment to roles/ranks is critical. Bottom line guys and gals........Legionnaires are at the bottom.......Senator of War is at the top. Senator of War Imperator Centurions Phalynx Knight Squire Legionnaire The bulk of the guild and honestly FUN role is in the Knight role.....easy life....support and combat with adventure and such....that is where everyone should strive to be....those that excell in coordination of events and leadership ability in all roleplaying will find themselves moving higher into Phalynx and Centurions over time. In this simple hierarchy......if one higher than you is running an event......follow the event orders. If you are in a meeting and disputes erupt.......same thing follows. We all were Legionnaires once........all of us. (yes I have alternates too ya know) heheh did I like being the front line facing the wave of Junars Undead? #### STRAIGHT I DID!!!! did I die? yup....did I lose all my possessions? yup During the Orc Wars did I get my arse handed to me more than once? of course I did......I am the best faceplanter in the universe!!! I did my part for the event the best I could....and in the end I had a ball win or lose. I remember one example a few yrs back.....Marcos the Black was the Decurion and he was taking us Legionnaires and Squires to Shame......where he wanted us to learn to melee a Kracken. One Legionnaire disagreed......and began to argue with him....needless to say he quit the guild during the event........the rest of us did nothing but follow orders. We won easily....and guess who we found dead to a Kracken a few hrs later? Teamwork and following the role for the event was key....... This brings me to a EXTREMELY SERIOUS and FINE LINE EXPLAINATION of an URGENCY I truely pray you will understand....... Malas is designed to defeat individuals. PGoH is the BEST teamwork (large scale) guild ever and designed to counter Evil masses. For lack of a better description....the Malas UBER monsters will be devastating........until the NEW ARMORS and NEW RESISTANCES are gained. We will be at a dissadvantage at the outset.......together though we can succeed at gaining the items and defensive needs that will bring us....US AND YOU INDIVIDUALLY up to par with these UBER Evils. Parties of adventurers will need a good mix of units to push deep into the places the Uberstuffs will be. Gathering current natural resources is something to do NOW not after AoS opens.......why? heheh cause we all will want to be adventuring together ehhehe and we will need supplies to refit us and our defenses. Your faith and trust in each other will keep you alive and marching toward victory. Like the old days of 1998 with the Orcs and Undead leading the roleplaying community......consistently facing adversity and foes armed greater or defended more...they plowed their way to greatness and glory. Even evil has its HONOR. The Army of the Sands is there waiting for us.......well defended and on thier ground they will fight to the bitter end. That is your evil in Malas.......it comes directly from YOUR PGoH storyline history....embrace the horror of War that is to be.......but realize you must you go into this War in the role of a Shard leader......no matter what role you fill....you are leading the roleplaying community....fill your role with HONOR. Who knows who we will find in the future on the pathways we march. FOR HONOR AND EMPIRE!!!

  16. The group you describe is the similar to the Praetorian Guards within our Honor Empire. Rand is also correct and defense of ones own life always is your duty to perform....not to let someone else. Again though you do describe what the Praetorian Guard was designed for........dealing without mercy to murderers relentlessly.
  17. I would love do do some of the Solen Quests and gather more of the rare seeds and bags of sendings. We should get a bunch of these bag of sendings..........why? MALAS Schtuffs and we wont be able to recall to banks and whooo knowsss what dangers we will fall into heheheh key is I am an expert faceplanter........you need to know how to FALL ehehhee less bruises that way.....ehhehe Members should have multiple bags of sending options since they are not newbied bags.

  21. I do wish to back up what BB has stated...... A character that takes on a role yes should possess some of the skill sets that reside within the category we grouped up that define an Espionage house member. Remember you have 5 characters or for all intense purposes 5 different citizens........different or similar lifes......but anyone of those can be used for the role of XYZ Senator or ABC Legate or whatever higher role you seek to and are appointed to. YOU are the person behind the character and it is THAT person and THOSE coordination/insightfulness/leadership etc qualities that makes a big part of success......Patience, Respect and FUN for your fellow members is what makes you survive a long time in the more stressful roles or leadership roles. I have to head to work soon......but I will dig out an old document......one that honestly made PGoH famous in the UO game world.......we were the first to create Skill Gods and categorization etc worship that did not violate and ran in concert perfectly with OSI's objective of skill growth and citizen lifestyle professions. We have a simplified version inplace now.......with the Houses of the Senators..........there was once 12 Senators.....we consolidated them for operational purposes. So.......I duely note your application for Senator of Espionage......but I think first your quest should be to find either UO Gametickets or set up Paypal payment systems for your account......aye brother? :smilewinkgrin:

The Espionage units........there are many titles within this house.......some undead, some mischevious, some benign and some malevolent.......but the number one thing about most Espionage units is their title is OFF. In Felucca they do what thieves/brigands do....... In Trammel now they are hindered by rulesets aye.... In Ilshenar now they are hindered by rulesets aye.... In Malas........well ESPIONAGE UNITS WILL DEFINETLY BE NEEDED....even to the point of being HIRED by other players for help in Dungeon crawls!!! PKs do not exist in The Honor Empire.......Assassins do (they have a purpose and a clear mission when activated) Bottom line is Loot is not an Assassins agenda .....Loot is a PKs agenda. Some of the Titles of Espionage House....*some titles on some off* Senator of Espionage Legate of Thieves Legate of Treasure Legate of Salvage Archeologist (Cartographer who could also disarm traps) Treasure Hunter (Map digger) Salvage (Sunken Sea Chests Fisherman) Safe Cracker (Lockpick) Demoliton Expert (One who disarms traps or blows things up) Torturer (Craftsman who makes torture devices) Executioner Assassin Henchman Witch/WitchDoctor/Madman Espoinage Agent Spy Rogue Thief Necromancer (this group also will be a cohort and new titles determined with the origional units) Vampires/Werewolfs ......more later to come. On the matter of who determines WAR targets?.......Espionage is used for building up a foundation for such arguments but it is the War Oversight Committee Senator of Espionage, Senator of War and Praetorian Prefect)that decides to send the motion to the Emperor and Floor of the Council of Honor.

    Uniforms

    The Dark Purple that sits in the special tub was the most recent choice of the color shade of Purple members decided upon. The Black portion of the code is from me and the backdrop storyline. Each of the Cohorts have colors which the Centurions declared long ago and they have stuck. For reference purposes.......we moved to the new purple darker shade so that the mis interpretation of our members as GoL would lessen........which has indeed helped. We are a more darker and a roleplaying guild deeper than GoL which is for the most part a gamer guild that roleplays where we are a roleplay guild that roleplays a game. We both have fun and utilize OOC when we need to or it doesnt mess with ongoing scenarios or content........PGoH is just closer to the RP in concert with OSI. As I have seen a growth in the performance of many members in roleplaying and including interactions with new players to UO.........this I must commend you all on this support.........GREAT JOB. What is also growing is the use and depth of the areas we have created and build with your ideas as roles for the Empire citizens......you are really starting to shine in making the PGoH Empire a more fluid and deep ocean of Fun to sail on and with.
  25. Okees........are you ready for some evil fun? NPC Hireling................the ASSASSIN Various costs based on target fame/karma and NPC Assassin skill level Utilization for events and/or goldsink. STEP 1 (costly part) Purchase a 24 hr Warrant from a Judge (guess he is already abit corrupt....selling warrents eheh) STEP 2 (covert part) Take Warrant and double click it and target PC (like how the paintbrush mechanics worked for toy collector) STEP 3 (very hard part and can be very costly) Find an ASSASSIN NPC in a town or wilds that randomly spawn and of different levels of skill and abilities drop Warrant onto ASSASSIN (Higher level Assassin......cost more..........Higher fame or infamous also costs more than normal target) Accept or Decline his request for payment of services....nasty hit to your Fame/Karma for accepting ASSASSINS Services. STEP 4 If accepted...........he begins to run toward character target if online....and is now either Grey or Red to the Target and any guildmates of Target. (once activated target is informed they have been marked and if they log out they will not instant log.......timer begins like logging out in wild without camping......even if in thier own home or Inn. Gamble now if you log....Assassin may find you before you go offline. If you do log before ASSASSIN reaches you.......event ends and Assassin resets and begins to wander around waiting to be hired again.) If target is off line ASSASSIN refuses job. If target on Warrent has been Assassinated within the 24hr day (server timer) he would refuse job. If not accepted Warrent Deed stays on character 24 hr timer for usage.....like decay system for MIBs.....character needs to find another ASSASSIN if that one was too costly or not costly enough (higher skill level Assassin desired) Guards ignore Assassins in all towns. Monsters ignore Assassins everywhere. Assassins can enter locked rooms and jump onto roofs. (once in range if they cant melee they will teleport) This would allow for events to be run............some folly for evil doers and surely some famous and infamous shard players would find themselves within the sites I bet of Assassins in the future.............whether done as a guild event for members, shard or tomfoolery..........this would be an interesting thing. Imagine seeing an Assassin run past you in town.............."holy crud.........there goes an Assassin.........lets follow him"........to watch the event. If he was Grey/Red to you then you know either he is after YOU or a guildmate of yours.........be the hero and stop him or seek to help thy kin under assassination attempt. The rarity of the spawning of them at high levels would lessen worries out there that chaos would rule.........but it would make the realm more interactive. Loot on a dead Assassin? None. Do Forensic Evaluation on dead Assassin.........to find out who sent him. (higher level Assassin the higher the Forensic Eval would be needed to discover this) If the Assassin dies remember then another will randomly appear somewhere. If you die to Assassin.......normal realm loot rules exist for where your body falls. He now begins to wander around........waiting for a new job he will be hired for and succeed. The more he succeeds........he gains skill too and level of powers. Also at least your character cannot be assassinated for at least another 24 hrs....ehehhe oooo an evolving NPC!!!!
