BLESSING from MONKS (March 2000) Throughout time one of good or evil would seek a man of cloth for blessing prior to engaging in battle or forgiveness for ones sins. Now we can cast BLESS upon each other...this I am not talking about. I am looking for the NPC Blue Monk (invunerable in cities) exist and provide a BLESS DEED to one who gives to him a LARGE sum of Gold utilizing the upcoming checksystem. On the flip side...the NPC Red Monk(huntable in wild) would provide forgiveness of a murder count in return for a gift of a LARGE sum of Gold utilizing the upcoming checksytem. Ok....that seems to benefit REDS I can hear you now heheh..since they can use their stooges to get them blessed deeds .....well thats true in all mechanics of economy now. and a murderer can pay off a corrupted evil monk to eliminate a murder count...EGADS you say?.....well I guess the good peoples will need to hunt him down....while the naughty peoples will try to keep him alive eheheh Both issues would satisfy desires of vast majority of players AND simulate further a reality that did exist in history.....blessings by monks and sadly the corruption of some evil monks. (not bless deed but the ACT of blessing an object...*smile*) NOTE: Clothing Bless deed would be given not item bless deed

I will work on finding out information.... so far all I have found is a mass of new programmers for 3 D engine are being recruited. Lines are forming and Centurions are leading the training of these units currently to the Legion functions of OSI...... Some form of military action seems immenent......I will continue to seek the GODS audience.

Ange was declared the winner of the contest. We used Mercury-God of Mischief's nasty dice roll to determine winner. Ange can now has a unique email reserved for the Empire....Balandar will be setting this up for her to use, which is what the Council already uses for thier email service. Simple request of posting a reply. Lets try to utilize the FORUMS more for communication and planning so that we can maximize the ingame time for events, adventure, challenges and FUN. My advice is to MAX out all your alternates and characters in hour bursts of training........use ICQ and this website to set up group events....ie mages blasting warriors healing each other........hehehe The Time is ending for the Hour of Focus....Powerhours. NO scheduled guild events will be done until the PH ends.....I want everyone of you to have MAX time to improve your characters.....group up and hit the greenie meanie in Ilshenar Humility shrine if your a melee, archer, tact, parry, healing, anatomy seeker Blast the heck out of each other if your a mage resist eval meditate maniac......ehhe

Count my drone in. PS.......I would urge EVERYONE to focus on thier alternates "hour of Focus" (PowerHours)....the end is near of this ability......max it out. I will not be scheduling any events until AFTER the end of the famous PH ability. DONT go to meeting as your alternate........that way AFTER the meeting you can bring your alternate and MAX out PH during the hour long event!!!!!!!!

First off, I should mention that we are planning to set Test Center 5 ("TC5") external with a recent Pacific shard backup for this weekend. I will also set the housing mode on the test housing server to "global" (this is equivalent to being in phase 3, where actions on one shard affect your houses on all other shards). Let me stress that this does not affect the production shards at all! There is no danger of your houses being condemned in production because of what you do on test centers. In other words, feel free to condemn your Test Center houses without worrying about your real houses on Pacific, Europa, Yamato, Siege Perilous, etc. Second, I plan to update the housing docs very soon with more details about coowners and claiming houses. There have been a lot of questions on this topic recently, so I feel some clarification is in order. I would do it today, but Prophet is out until Monday and there are some detailed issues I am not 100% comfortable addressing. I want to make sure anything I post on this topic is definitive, since it is the source of great anxiety for many players. Finally, some speculation as to what the housing rollout will look like. This is Prophet's baby, and he will ultimately be responsible for making the decisions about what happens when. However, based on what I know about how the housing system works, I think I can paint a picture of the rollout process that is pretty accurate. First, Publish 16 will go live. We will want to wait until it's live everywhere before we start registering shards. This is the process by which we iterate through all the houses on the shard and add them to the housing database (popularly known as "Phase 1"). Registering a shard takes a good deal of time, and we have to keep the shard internal while it happens, so I don't anticipate we will be registering more than one shard a day (although this may change as we gather more information on the system's needs). That means that phase 1 should take 20-odd days to complete. Based on the way the inactive account handling works, we will have to wait about ten days once the last shard is registered to turn on the ability to claim "ownerless houses" (phase 2). Then we will want to leave the claiming phase active for at least a week before we turn on phase 3 (where housing events on one shard may affect one's houses on other shards). Once again, that is not the hard and fast PLAN, but how I BELIEVE the rollout will work. We should be able to announce an official rollout plan sometime next week . MrTact

Skills needed Primary=Cooking Secondary=Taste Id Secondary=Alchemy Resources needed Grapes for wine (red or white) and champagne (champagne would color bottle pink) Barley for beer and ale Liquor could use fruits also (depending on fruit....bottle would color to match.......like the pink champagne gift long ago) Barley is made by grinding up shaded color of wheat stalks graphic is a colored dough pile perhaps. Object /Tool needed Empty bottles (craftable from glassworker from sand) Yew Brewrey Vats (existing already dormant) Skill levels (Cooking, TasteID, Alchemy) Beer/Ale (95, 95, 100) Wine Red (95, 98, 100) Wine White (98, 98, 100) Champagne (98, 100, 100) Liquors (100, 100, 100) Additional fun items Keg could be craftable by Carptenters but would be keg on side graphic with spout....that could be filled with Beers, Ales or Wines for use in player Bar settings. The Port Authority. In the stories written so far it has shown the Port Authority is becoming a hub or location that cargo is delivered. Inside this building the following things were going to be created. NOTE: I personally admit my....how does Balandar say..."el sucko" ability to decorate.....while I can visualize quite well ideas and designs.......graphics ingame systems. Villa was to have a VAULT and then a counter for standard resources Logs, Hides, Ore, Leather, Sand, etcs......here is where drop offs would occur. Vendor Operators for Villa still are available. If you have an account that CANNOT access Ilshenar........this is the contest to enter......winner will get UPGRADED. I will send you the upgrade code via ICQ then MAIL you the LBR Game disc. That way you can access LBR instantly and when game arrives......save your macros.......UNINSTALL UO then INSTALL UO2D at least.......3D if you wish.....but the 2D will at least allow you to see the new graphics and monsters. Some 3D monsters are even more exotic.....but it is a slower client and different interface to get used to playing.

For the Ancients.....or at least for myself and it seems as well for SerBrightblade.....it does my heart good to read this post. This was the foundation of the Empire (BEFORE there was miners.......it was smithing) ***fades to memory*** Lags, Bob, Balandar and Myself would venture out.....Balandar would float around us while us 3 would get our butts tanned and armors dented and broken by.....let me tell you the nastiest Ogres and Ettins you could imagine. They were at the top of the food chain back then.....dungeons had not even been explored fully yet. We would return and our kin (alts) would work on our suits. For pieces that were destroyed our 5th member ever was Rattlehead. Rattlehead had one great distinction that...though he has left the realms.....he was the FIRST Grandmaster Smith on Catskills. Dressed in his camoflague green robe (since he worked in the field on random forges and anvils that VULCAN-GOD of Metal would place in those days) Rattlehead would evade Murderers and such to repair the realms warriors wares. When the days came that mining was taught by VULCAN to us...he forged a collective and made great strides. ***fades back to present*** Rattlehead left before the Senate was established...but the coordinating figure would be the Senator (one who keeps track of xyz and economic issues) since that is part n parcel thier role and resposibility. Now I will say this......you sir Triston fit the role of Legate of Mining better than any other before you I believe. The Legate role is one of a "specific" skill and/or activity that would reside within a house of the Senate. The Legate is the point man for the skill/activity and is the Senators aid in making and processing the event and/or resources gained into the pre-determined goal. We used to have Mining Madness events......where our record was 55,000 ingots mined in 4 hours time....this was back when silver alone was found. We had Wood Works events where our record was 61000 logs.....LOGS not lumber heheh they are heavier....back when lumber was not craftable from logs.....4 hours time. Hide Harvests record was 15000 in a 4 hour timeframe. What was very interesting was that for the Hide Harvests....HERA-GODDESS of BEASTS and CERES-GODDESS of HARVESTS aided the Empire by placing massive harvesting areas INSIDE Delucia and around Delucia of shepards, cattlemen and deer herds which still remain to this day....we had prayed for this and received this blessing. Back to your plans potential Legate Triston. My only advice on your calculating and such would be to KISS it......Keep It Simple Stupid....which was a saying Lags would say always......"whatever we do make sure we keep it simple because at least Bob here can be stupid and heck we all are stupid sometimes hehehe" Lags was a common bottomline man......simpler the better. Only after we mastered the simple did we add on the more complex. The Codex is a culmination of 5 years of small additions compiled together as what we are today.....and it still grows small steps at a time. Your proposal again is a great idea and I will support it with my drone I built years ago to do the work for my personal house...I will reactivate him and send him to you. For official comments........you are CORRECT also that the strange powers of Ilshenar have begun to seep into the world we have always called our lands of Britannia....this has had a profound effect on natural resources. The Decay spell showed how destructive and powerful the magic there is at redefining the land itself.......this will come to be as well in the resources......ingots, hides and wood. ALL of these resources will have properties that will enhance various matters........we do .........WE DO need to make sure the Empire is ready for this and BIND TOGETHER as we always have to bring the true might of the Empire to bear. Citizens our our foundation strength and when they pull as one....mountains can be moved......cities can be built.....populations can be clothed and fed. This will undoubtably be an area that the Empire can easily lead the realm in.....I would hope all families (accts) inside the Empire would send thier miners, lumberjacks or hidecollectors to any of the harvesting events that will be planned. The Good of the Many principal we all have sworn to uphold and participate in.........just like defending the Empire in the Legion.....The Good of the Many principal is truly at work in Harvest Events

It is my greatest hope that all you fathers have a fantastic day this year on the day set aside to celebrate your sacrifice to your families. For those who have no family as of yet.......I would hope you can honor thy father this day. No matter where they are....they love you. As for myself I will be calling my father and grandfather and wishing them well and fortune for another year. I will also be visiting the memorial of my fallen grandfather and sending prayers of thanks to my great grandfathers that came before him. Without them.......I would not exist. Welcome, weary stranger! May you find here warm bread and the beautiful song of my mandolin. On a quest through Britannia, you say? Should you rest alongside my fire, I shall impart the story of our land for your enlightenment and entertainment. I am considered, by all measures, to be an expert on these matters. My pilgrimage as a Bard has drawn me to the lovely city of Britain, though I have had occasion to spread song in Moonglow, Trinsic and other townships you must surely have seen in your travels. A journey through Britannia may not be wholly understood without the knowledge I am inclined to impart. So rest, gentle traveler, and I shall begin ... Long before the Stranger ever entered the lands of Sosaria and the four continents within — the Lands of Lord British, the Lands of Danger and Despair, the Lands of the Dark Unknown, and the Lands of the Feudal Lords — there arose a young wizard named Mondain. As Mondain grew in age and knowledge, so grew his unquenchable thirst for power and discontent with mortal life. He became obsessed with transcending mortality and gaining perpetual life. Eventually, he learned of the treasured Gem of Immortality, which grants unimaginable power and everlasting life to its owner. Surely, you have heard of this? Now it is my opinion, as shared by most historians in this kingdom, that Mondain's desire for immortality tainted with greed the moral wisdom usual to those who study the power of magic. His wishful longing for the Gem became all-consuming, and after much anguish, he was led to willfully murder the keeper of the Gem — his father. Mondain's name is still cursed in Britannia to this day, for anyone that turns a sword against those of his own blood for selfish gain is believed to eternally align himself with the Dark Forces. But, that is a subject for another eve. To truly understand our present hatred for Mondain, you must know more ... After securing the Gem as his own, Mondain made plans to use it in a ritual that would give him ultimate power. During the ceremony that was to forever bind the Gem to Mondain, the Gem captured an image of the entire land, save the wielder of the ritual — Mondain himself. Once imbued with the power of immortality, Mondain used the Gem as a means to rule the world — until a Stranger arrived, determined to destroy the very source of Mondain's existence. Having journeyed for years throughout Sosaria, this Stranger's quest was to free the land and people from Mondain's dark, shadowy rule. After many battles, he travelled to the ruler's lair and felled the evil sorcerer by shattering the gem. As the essence of immortality was loosed upon the land, the very fabric of the universe began to unravel. And with the power of the Gem gone, Mondain himself was eliminated. We in Britannia celebrate this ever-elusive stranger one day each year as the Hero Who Smote Mondain, for alas, he parted and left no name behind for his legacy. Had he endured a longer stay, perhaps the catastrophe wrought by the release of Mondain's greed might have been lessened. Were it not for the benevolent spirits watching over the world, Britannia might not exist today. You see, concerned by the results of the natural course of events — whereby one man's quest for ultimate power nearly annihilated a world — our guardian spirits set into motion a plan to ensure that the land would come under the rule of the right. Aware of the devastation caused by the destruction of the Gem, they seized hold of the fabric of time and space and re-wove the fibers of Sosaria, which today we call Britannia. It is popularly believed that the ridges lining this island represent the mending seams, though this may be a fancy. It is also rumoured that when the Gem was shattered, thousands of splintered fragments scattered across the universe. Within each facet purportedly lies the very image of Sosaria, just as it was captured during Mondain's ritual. No mortal has yet found the means to find or reassemble these fragments, though as a historian, I am particularly curious as to their existence. Would I not give but my very life for a spell to reverse the flow of time to unveil this bit of history! Perhaps one day, another Stranger will arrive — one similar to yourself — who has the wherewithal to answer such questions. — Sedrik the Amicable Interesting revisiting the story........and below the continents are put into a more familiar context...... hmmm..........sooo.... the Lands of Lord British,………………Britannia the Lands of Danger and Despair….The New Lands the Lands of the Feudal Lords………Ilshenar the Lands of the Dark Unknown……???:reading: perhaps the Dark Unknown is Exodus? Perhaps to deal with him we may need to break down his foundation just like we have done so to all our enemies before him. "Destroy the foundation and any structure will fall to ruins" But we have a big fish to fry now (deal with Lord Blackthorn first) and the future will be for the new continent to be found NOTE: Ultima Online has another UPC reserved....past units have been used for expansions into the continents......wink wink.

Scrolls of Power Scrolls of Power are significant new items that allow veteran players to continue the development and/or specialization of their characters. Skill Scrolls: A new type of scroll will be added that allows players to raise the limits of their possible maximum skill values beyond 100.0 (up to 120.0). The player’s skill will not actually be raised upon using the scroll, but the cap on that skill will be raised to the appropriate level, depending on which scroll was used. These scrolls will only be found on “Champions of Evil” that spawn in the Dungeons and Lost Lands areas on the Felucca facet. For each eligible skill, there are 4 different types of scrolls: +5.0 (raises the appropriate skill’s limit to 105.0) +10.0 (raises the appropriate skill’s limit to 110.0) +15.0 (raises the appropriate skill’s limit to 115.0) +20.0 (raises the appropriate skill’s limit to 120.0) The skill scrolls are not cumulative (you must use one +20.0 skill scroll to reach a maximum value of 120.0 skill, that character cannot use four separate +5.0 skill scrolls to achieve the same result). Once a scroll of a given type and value has been used, scrolls of lesser or equal type and value can no longer be used (ie: if you use a +10.0 Magery skill scroll to raise your Magery skill limit to 110.0, that character can no longer use any +5.0 or +10.0 Magery skill scrolls). The more powerful scrolls will spawn less frequently than less powerful scrolls. Once a player uses the skill scroll and raises their skill limit, they will then be able to gain in that skill (through normal means) until they reach their new skill limit. All skill points gained above 100.0 continue to count against the player’s skill cap (if the player is a “7x GM” and wants to raise 5 skills to 120.0, they would have to lower 1 of their gm skills and eventually become a 5x 120, 1x 100 character). Skill scrolls are “cursed” items (explained further below), but are consumed upon use. Players may trade and/or sell skill scrolls to other players (it is not required for the player that found them to use them). Only the following skill scrolls will spawn as of Publish 16: Swordsmanship Fencing Mace Fighting Archery Wrestling Parrying Tactics Anatomy Healing Magery Meditation Evaluate Intelligence Magic Resistance Animal Taming Animal Lore Veterinary Musicianship Provocation Enticement Peacemaking Stealth Stealing The interface for skill scrolls will function as follows: Player “uses” the skill scroll (double-click). The appropriate skill now has a “cap” of 100.0 + the value according to the type of scroll (i.e.: 105.0 for a +5.0 skill scroll). The player may view their maximum skill value in the skills window (this will be patched as a publish 16 client change). For example, a player might see: Magery 92.1/115.0 Stat Scrolls: Stat scrolls can only be found on “The Harrower” (a new “arch champion” that will also be found in the dungeon and Lost Land areas of Felucca, and will be described in more detail in the near future… not to be confused with the mere “Tentacles of the Harrower”). When used, stat scrolls increase the character’s actual stat cap, thereby allowing players to gain stats beyond the normal 225-point limit. Stat scrolls can be found in 5 varieties: +5, +10, +15, +20, and +25. The stat scrolls are not cumulative (you must use one +25 stat scroll to reach a stat cap of 250, you cannot use five separate +5 stat scrolls to achieve the same result). As of Publish 16, the new limit on any one stat will be raised from 100 to 125. This is independent of the stat scroll additions, and will be applied to all players. Once a scroll of a given type and value has been used, scrolls of lesser or equal type and value can no longer be used (ie: if you use a +10 stat scroll to raise your stat cap to 235, that character can no longer use any +5 or +10 stat scrolls). The more powerful scrolls will spawn less frequently than less powerful scrolls. Once a player uses a stat scroll and raises their stat cap, they will be able to gain in any stat (through normal means) until they reach their new stat limit. Stat scrolls are “cursed” items, but are consumed upon use. Players may trade and/or sell stat scrolls to other players (it is not required for the player that found them to use them). The interface for stat scrolls will function as follows: Character “uses” the stat scroll (double-click). The character now has a stat cap equal to 225 + the value according to the type of scroll (i.e.: 240 for a +15 stat scroll). The player may view their stat maximum status window (this will be patched as a publish 16 client change).
