Bah! Maybe we just don't want to be associated with the likes of you! XD I kid, of course.
  2. She does talk, but only when she needs to as she thinks people talk too much to begin with. She's been talking a lot lately, in fact... you just haven't been around to hear! And coincidentally, I was thinking of having her use her tail as a whip at times (fashioned after Cluny the Scourge from the first Redwall book). So be careful of what you say about those cats! Haha. But really, thank you, and thanks for the post. I had taken a screenshot but lost it because I didn't paste the thing soon enough. :|
  3. That's what it's for! And congrats. Edit - Note to Calli: Just wanted to say you're doing very well with RP too, and I appreciate your efforts. It makes things more interesting for the rest of us.
  4. Isn't Naamah your wife's name? Sounds pretty. :] And how are things going with the baby, by the way?

Followed a link here from another topic. Good idea. I'd also like to remind people that they can log in on the Members' Entrance page and add/edit their characters for the Roster. :3
  6. That helped. I wouldn't have guessed at some of those pronunciations... Keryn, for instance. Some others I wasn't 100% sure of before.
  7. I thought it might be a good idea for people to list what characters they play, at least the ones in PGoH. It can get confusing with so many alts that sometimes you're not sure exactly who you're talking to. Also, how do you pronounce your characters' names? Is there a meaning or story behind their names? How are the syllables stressed? A technical thing, I know, but it can't hurt to be sure. I'd feel stupid if I were pronouncing them wrong to myself. Mine are as follows, and I'll update the list if need be: Piper (pronounced like you'd think it is) - Female rat-thing Ranger (tamer/mage/vet) Cucailin (ku'-col-EEN, like the name Colleen; roughly means "dog girl" in Gaelic) - Female elf Ranger (tamer/bard/healer) Liadan (LEE-uh-din', means "grey lady" in Gaelic) - Female human, 1/4 elf Warrior (mage/archer) Kasimirazel (KAZ-ih-MEER-uh-zell', Kasimir is a name that basically means "to destroy" and I added "azel" from part of a Meer name I saw) - Female Meer shadow hunter Paladin (swordfighter) I also need to work on the site I've got for character bios (Piper will be next). For reference, the URL is http://www.freewebs.com/blairs-characters and I'll be working on it as I find the time/motivation.
  8. Okay, people. We have a good ongoing storyline here recently (Kodoz, the curse, etc) and you're missing out if you don't take part in it. We've been told that this plot won't end any time soon, and it's very promising as an ongoing event for us to take part in. The guild really needs everyone to be active as roleplayers. First let me say that last night's event was very well carried out in the technical aspects of gameplay. Very proud to see everyone working together, I assure you. But I have one small criticism: last night before the capture of Kodoz, there was only a very small handful of people who actually participated in-character. It's not all about the fighting; it's about interaction. Please, PLEASE don't be intimidated or feel too nervous to join in. Your actions could impact the storyline, and this isn't a bad thing. That's the point to roleplaying: it's ongoing and anyone can "change the future," so to speak. You all have that chance if you'll allow yourselves to be put in that position. But first you have to join in. Once you do, I really think you'll start to enjoy yourselves more and begin to feel more confident. Actually, Charlie brought up a neat prospect: giving people short five-minute "skits" to do - scenarios for them to act out, like little acting lessons. Two people would be assigned a little story to follow and they could go from there. I think this would be both helpful and enjoyable for the people involved. Just try to interact with each other, even if only for a few minutes at a time. Another thing, I highly recommend creating a profile for your character (see the Profile button on your paperdoll in 3D, and the scroll on the bottom right-hand corner of your paperdoll in 2D). This lets others know you roleplay and if they're also RPers, they get an idea of what kind of character they're dealing with (you may even make a new friend if they see you're also into RP). It's a short description that establishes who you are in the game, and personally, I see this as a valuable tool within the UO roleplaying community. Please don't be shy. Jump in and say something. If you want tips, I'm always willing to help, and I know for a fact that Charlie, Kodoz, and Thorax would be glad to lend a hand as well. Here's the UO Stratics Introduction to Roleplaying page: http://uo.stratics.com/content/rp101/intro.shtml There are more links about RP at the top of the left sidebar. They may be of some use to those of you who are new to roleplaying, but let me put it this way: remember playing pretend games when you were little? Maybe you took on the role of a mother while playing house. Maybe you were a Power Ranger on a mission. Maybe you held a plastic phone and pretended to talk to someone. Basically, that's RP - pretending, creating a story as you go. If kids can do it, I'm sure everyone in the guild can!

    Blessed Sashes

Daemons aren't too difficult, but it's a good idea to have someone come along so they can heal you or help kill them if necessary. You can find information on daemons at this page on the UO Stratics Hunter's Guide. If I'm online and you need any help, feel free to ask.
  10. Kodoz needed certain ingredients to get a cure for his curse, and several people showed up to hunt for those ingredients. The ones I remember being there were Charlie, Karly, Uthan, Mareak, Gabriel, Desi, Callista, Herion, Maltrador, Crawdaddy, and myself (as Piper). If I'm forgetting anyone, correct me. We collected dead wood from reapers, gravedust from lich lords, ancient wyrm scales, and daemon blood from balrons (actually we already had it, but Kodoz wanted to kill balrons). I happened to get some screenshots of this. I know some others did too, but I didn't notice another topic about it, so go ahead and post them here. Or if that doesn't work, click here. I believe this was taken after the first portion of the quest. Or if that doesn't work, click here. Fulfilling Kodoz's need to kill balrons? Haha. Or if that doesn't work, click here. This was the meeting after everything was collected. After this, Uthan got promoted. See the topic here.
  11. In regards to what Mareak said, I'm not sure how legal that recording would be. Things like that are tricky and I'm not sure how it would hold up in a legal situation. But Charlie, I do wish you the best and hope things start working out for you.
  12. Congrats, Uthan. I happened to get a screenshot of the event: Or if that doesn't work, click here.
  13. Something's come up recently - something I don't feel comfortable discussing. Just don't expect to see me around UO or ICQ as much as before. Things may change, but for now, this is how it'll probably be. I can't really feel comfortable giving an explanation.
  14. Maybe we could afford Jackal's Collar if we each put in some money based on percentage so it would be fair all the way around. That's all I can think of, really.
  15. I'm renovating my character site and decided to put Cucailin's page up first. There seems to be some confusion about exactly who/what she is and where she came from, so this should explain everything. The site is: http://www.freewebs.com/blairs-characters/cucailin.html It's sort of long, but thorough. Hope this clears up any questions about her. I encourage others do to something similar, even if it's just a topic here on the roleplaying forum. It helps to know about everyone else's backstories! And yes, I've checked the roster; some have stories, some have very brief descriptions, and some have nothing at all. Why not let us know a little bit about your character(s)? I'm sure everyone else would like to hear about them. I know I would, at any rate. I'd also like to see everyone have some sort of description in their profiles (haha, Charlie), but that's another matter entirely... XD
  16. UGH. DOES THIS MEAN WE'RE STUCK WITH HIM? Haha, no, I jest! Congrats!
  17. Started on a friend's boyfriend's account. She was obsessed at the time and I thought I'd try it, so her boyfriend let me have a character - Liadan - on his account. I originally stuck around mainly because it gave me something to do instead of sit around and browse random websites. Ended up getting a copy for myself and starting over on a new account, still with the name Liadan. I saw Kodoz, Charlie, and someone else RPing in Haven one day and was surprised to see there were RPers in the game, so I went over and RPed along with them. (This was when he had the necklace stuck on and we were trying to figure out how to remove it.) I'm pretty sure it was only a few days later that I ended up joining PGoH. Now I hang around for the people and the RP - again, I suppose, because it gives me some form of escape from stress and anxiety. My friend has also converted to WoW, with some CoV and other things. She's starting to come back to UO though, and last I knew, her character was SilverJackal on Catskills - a tamer/mage with the professional title of stoic. In response to Charlie: "Sure you can fight the same dragons every day but sometimes your lucky to get one and some days youre running from 5 chasing you." Replace "fight" with "tame" and that's basically the story of my UO life lately. Haha. XD
  18. Sounds neat. So far, I should be able to come to everything. If another tamer comes, maybe we can have a cu sidhe fight.
  19. ...Notice how Gabriel is sneaky and steals my seat. Haha. The llama proved to be amusing. I didn't really have anything useful to give, but then again, I don't think Piper would be a good gift-giver anyway. So she gave him the llama because she thought something was wrong with his ethy llama. XD (After all, normal healthy llamas aren't see-through.)
  20. Or if that doesn't work, try going here.
  21. Thanks for the offers of advice and assistance. I'll probably try to renew it once every few months as that shouldn't add up to much money overall. I'll see what I can do when the time comes.
  22. I love meeting internet people, so I would like to do this eventually, but it's not practical for me at the moment. I'd have no way of getting anywhere. :/
  23. Roleplay events, though I also really like guild hunts, even though I die all the time. With RP events, perhaps we could try doing some in more crowded areas than Trinsic? We'd be more likely to attract interest that way. I noticed (I think) you and Kodoz RPing in Haven, and I was pretty shocked to find that people actually RPed in the game, so that's how I came to join. I'd been looking for an RP guild, but hadn't really seen signs of any before I saw you guys. If we were to hang around Haven, we could attract new players, and those are the people I think are most likely to join. But just anywhere that's more populated... in RPing, even with a casual IC conversation or tiny conflict, people realize there's something different than usual. Like when I saw you guys, you were trying to get that necklace off of Kodoz. I "overheard" and tried to offer my advice, and that's how it got started. So that's just my suggestion. :3 But yes, guild hunts, too. I like going out with everyone, but that might be because really, that's the only time everyone sort of comes out to do something together. Basically, I just want to interact more.
  24. I should say so! I'd be dead in about two hits. 8D Does this mean no pets? Haha.
  25. Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed the hostility the "d00dz" tend to show towards roleplayers. I've heard it said so many times that roleplayers "have no lives." However, I find it amusing that I'm a very intelligent 19-year-old, planning for a career in forensic psychology, and planning my future with a fiancee when the "d00dz" are the ones who seem to spend all day every day trying to powerlevel their abilities in an online game. Or worse, banksitting. It seems to me that roleplayers generally do have lives and roleplay to escape from reality for a little while. (What's funny though is when it doesn't register in their heads that you're in character, and they get all confused and assume you're an idiot while they're the ones who can't seem to form one coherent sentence in their native language.) And I know what you mean about fearing your next step. I don't go into Fel alone because of all the PKs. Even in secluded spots, it seems there's always someone hiding (makes you wonder how long there were sitting there, waiting for someone to come by). And you know they're just trying to be douchebags when they have their warrior attack a tamer/mage. They probably go brag about it to their guilds when really, how hard was it to do that? There's still one guy out there I've sworn vengeance on if I ever see him again. This is partially why I've been trying to max out my two cu sidhe. Back to hostility towards RPers. In my experience, all RPers get bashed by the "general public" of the game, but I've seen how it goes for the new guys too. I'm always on the lookout for any new people I think would be interested in RP, but sadly, it's just not common anymore, like you said. I was just talking to Kodoz yesterday about the Humility virtue: I think it would be a wise move for them to get that thing working. Maybe then more RPers would be motivated to try to help new players and teach them about RP along the way. I know I would, but then again, I tend to anyway when I see the opportunity. We need to try to interact more with other guilds, I think. Did you see those books around Luna for that new vampire guild? That might create some fun situations, and they seemed like they were really into RP (and could also actually spell!). Perhaps we could check that out? If you need any help with this sort of thing, feel free to ask me. I've been RPing in different scenarios for several years (since I was about 12; I RPed as a dog in a chatroom). So I'm more than willing to help when it's needed.
